70 seeds - industrial cannabis in wv, as noted by myself

just got the email from the wvda and the couple of things on my rap sheet did not disqualify me, so as soon as i get the $610 to them i start legally growing pot in wv. i did not think i would ever live to see that, so in celebration, i plan on documenting the grow here. the company is called 70 seeds and the objective is to breed more medicinal “industrial” cannabis with higher thcv, cbd, cbg, etc.and lower thca in order to meet the industrial definition, then selling or otherwise distributing the seeds. mostly giveaway, trade, or maybe like johnny on here does for a minimal price.

i’m going to be starting four strains in january to gather pollen and a few good females along with some seeds, then next run will be four strains of the hemp i have yet to obtain for breeding purposes. if i do it right i should be able to have three complete runs from seed in a year and pushing it i may be able to get four. upon looking over my selection, i think it may be a bit optimistic to get three, but two is fine with me. i’m going for panama red, sheelavathi, temple flo, and critical kush. haven’t decided yet on the hemp seeds.

first legal grow in wv for me. i can’t wait. gonna be fun.

that’s one of companies i had already been given a link to, thanx. and you as well.

@mota thanx. it’s actually not that bad for industrial, but no delta 9 or thca or whatever. i’ve smoked it and it isn’t too bad. the guy that sold it to me told me it was like mids. i’d say that was accurate. also, trying to breed out the illegal stuff means you need some to start with, then grow it out and see how well you did at your selection, not to mention pheno hunting and trials and such.

upon reviewing the laws a tad closer it looks like i may have to revise the strains i am starting with. either that or tighten up the odor suppression. nah, i gotta keep it legal this time, otherwise why bother with all the licenses and everything? i hope that since i don’t plan on selling any flower and am just harvesting the seeds they’ll let me go with it. i plan on putting two acres out for fiber, either paper or clothing and seeds. but that will be all open pollination.

Your first run may slow you down a bit. My Sheelawathi took about 6 months start to finish.

I also try to get 3 runs a year but don’t worry about that if I am doing a long flowering strain and plan on 6 months.

Sounds like a nice project. Congratulations on WV legal.

Here is my Sheelawathi.

very nice. i may be able to keep one long flowering strain alongside short ones in separate growing spaces. my big concern is going to be not letting the hemp outside pollinate the industrial cannabis inside. i need a solid filtering system for that.

How much thc are you allowed? And congratulations!

thanx. i found an old one from last year. they haven’t got the new one up yet for this year. here is what i have. there’s a lot more not legal that legal. pretty sure that applies to what is being sold and since i am breeding i should be exempt from the testing of all of it, but even if i have to test it all and can’t sell any of the stuff that is over the limit, it’s ok since i wasn’t planning on selling any anyway. i think we’re gonna make our own paper and envelopes from the outside hemp and sell stationary sets. the wife suggested making them unique by adding some wax and a seal so as to bring back some nostalgia. not sure how they would work with rollers though. needs tried out before we do anything like that.

probably a bit unrelated but just an fyi to anyone in a similar situation, when you have a case dismissed after missing a court date, even if you talk to the supervisor of your public defender, make sure you follow up and get the letter they say is going to be mailed if it doesn’t show up. i failed to do so and ended up arrested on the way to work yesterday. the cop was very cool though, same one that knew i didn’t show up to court which was why i got pulled. they even parked my truck in a parking lot and let me keep my phone to get in touch with someone to get bail to the magistrate so i didn’t have to go all the way to jail. they found the letter dismissing the case though. apparently it didn’t get entered into the system. now i may just be able to get a small settlement for whatever a lawyer can dream up. i got a couple of cool selfies too. good thing i had that extra bowl before leaving the house. one more thing, i finished that bowl in the clothes i had on and walked out the door. not one of them mentioned smelling it or anything about asking me if i had smoked anything. stay safe out there and may all your legal interactions go as smoothly as this one did for me.

oh, i plan on spreading the love here on og when i start making seeds. it’s not gonna be anything more than just a general whatever you get, but eventually it will start working different things into some really cool designer weed. i just saw that thread on low tolerance and it got me thinking that i could start producing strains that cater to folks who don’t want to get blitzed. since i’m just doing it as a side gig anyway i figure i’m in a good place to do it.

I felt bad when some in Spencer tested at .4%. All that work to having to burn it all, they made a pit and put it all in and asked the state if they wanted to come while it burnt. At least they found a way to help out everyone, even though the state was destroying it. I sure didn’t have the connections or the 2.75 million for one of the only ten medical grow permits. #freetheweedWV
Med stuff they pushing is :wastebasket:. Reminds me of how the coal business is, may have a few jobs but all the money leaves here.
Good luck and wish u all the best from Wyoming Co. Ever get up to hiring , shoot me a message.

If I knew noone had a :gorilla: plot, I’d plant hemp everywhere just to screw with the :pig2: :helicopter:. I’d film them hiking the hills for nothing, would make a wonderful time :joy: It’s a shame that ten rich along with the state gets to grow and sell and we the poorer still gets hit w felonies. Some :ox: :poop:. Legal on 2 sides of us now… Ohio be nice. Grow 12 apeice, (tops 24 for two adults in household I think) but sure beats VA just 4 a household.
