‘93 Mexican All Star testers

You want to hear something interesting go on YouTube and look up Hamilton Morris interview of Robert Guiterrez it’s titled something like The True Story of Penis Envy mushrooms.Robert was the man who bred that mushroom variety and invented it not Terrence Mkenna .He talks about how the mushroom was created out of a Mutation and he told himself a healthy normal mushroom I know it’s healthy but a Mutation I don’t know,I could learn more from this. The mushroom was so strong because of the mutation. It over came the mutation and became stronger and purified it’s genetics.I wonder if this could be used in cannabis?Or is it already being done?Probably so but I wonder now???

Great pics! We got excited when we got the rare bag of good green brick. Our brown, I’m sad to say, was darker by a couple shades. Really nasty stuff. A 30 minute buzz then a munchie attack, followed by a cancelation of whatever plans were made before smoking in favor of a movie or sleep. I missed out on some good things because of that brown bud. I feel this latest generation of dabbers is in a similar situation…missing out on some good times.

I live in Canada and I thought I hated grapefruits. Sour mouth puckering nastiness.

Then I went down south and ate the ugliest grapefruit I’ve ever seen and it was sweet and delicious. I would eat them all the time but they aren’t available up here.

I am finally getting around to giving an update. All good news. I am not worried about the vigor anymore. After three weeks they have all more or less caught up with each other. The one Hawaiian which was the clear winner is pretty much the same size as the rest now.

The F3’s take after the male in quite a few ways. They are shorter, squatter, and more branchy than the mother plant. A bit more Indica it seems, and pretty stable. They all look like each other. The structure is pretty damn good too! If there are no hermi tendencies and the resin production is up to par then this should be an excellent share. I will be flipping them in the next week or so.

Out of the ten seeds I planted I think these six plants look pretty good. They are roughly three weeks old now. The Hawaiian hybrid is up top by itself. The other six are my AllStar F3.

The plants are short and branchy. Pretty similar looking as well. These are two different plants with obvious similarities.

An Update of those 1993 brickweed seeds,The one is back on track to becoming something I can work with.A couple of wrinkly leaves but it’s picking up pace and eating very well. Now for the Interesting one.It has almost put out a regular fan leaf half but it is developing a fresh left fan leaf half so it’s starting to put itself back together again and finally starting to tolerate weak nutrients. The Coconut water and tiny bit of epsom salt perked them up.

Capn you are more than welcome to post here, but just for anyone casually scrolling through I want to reiterate that the plants you are growing are not related to the AllStar ‘93 F3 that I will be sharing to the community.

Hopefully sharing anyway. So far so good. I killed one healthy and vigorous plant for being a male. They are right around a month old here. It is an exciting time because you can really see the strains individual characteristics by this point.

The strain is short, more Indica influenced, a low feeder, and quite branchy. I will be setting them to flower any day now.

Look how branchy some of them are.

Well guys, bad news here. Life has its disappointments, and despite our best efforts sometimes we fail.

My ‘93 Mexican heirloom F3 is full of intersex traits. I had big hopes of trying to revive this damn near extinct strain, and send it all over the world. That is not going to happen though. Not at F3 anyway, and perhaps not at all. Far too many intersex traits.

This is part of the journey though. If reviving old strains was an easy thing to do then a lot more people would do it. The effort is necessary, but many times unrewarding. Such is life. Oh well, and onto new breeding adventures.
