I was just reading through tony green’s seed thread and someone said they finally fixed their issue of curlimg/fucked up leaves by dimming their QB. I was unaware that was an issue as it’s never happened to me before and I’ve started over 6 seedlings under it. Anybody know about this ?
I’m no expert on led lights, but it could have been too close or out of tent height. If you aren’t seeing any issues, I wouldn’t worry about it.
Do you have any of the mother earth on your soil? I’m sure the sea bird stuff will be fine if you just give a bit. It would pretty strong to add a ton I’m sure.
So far, what’s I have in my soil has carried mine through. I do top dress, on the big outdoor ladies.
I top dressed with the mother earth , the soil was straight nectar#4 with no additives when they were planted so as of now they only have that which I’ve been feeding the microbes with roots organic trinity and emerald harvest honey comb . I’ve yet to do any cal mag yet as it has an NPK of 2-0-0. They seemed to take the mother earth just fine .
Considering I’m only using emerald harvest additives ( green goddess, honey comb, king kola ) I was gonna let the dry amendments do the most work . I think I’ll wait another week then hit 1/4 strength earth and 1/4 cal mag see how they take that before jumping into smaller amounts of the seabird guano
This is my first run using dry amendments all the way through so I’m mostly experimenting. I’m used to bottle nutrients, nectar specifically .
I mixed up supersoil, and went from a starter mix to that. They seem to like it. I’ve just added labs and some knf to that. It has carried them so far.
I’d really like to get into that at some point down the line . How long does it typically take to cook down? That was my main reason for not starting yet, I had to get some plants in soil asap lol
I know you can buy it premade as well , I thought about going that route but its priceyyy
A month or more. Ive used it sooner. It will have some deficiencies until it can break down some.
I’ve honestly been thinking about switching to DWC, but that’s a long way away so I’ll definitely give super soil a shot at some point.
One of the 2 Afghan kush have germinated. I’m gonna do a little experiment that I feel I know the outcome from. As shown the BC and WC were started straight up in 2 gallon pots. I put the AK in a rapid rooter. Once I see roots I’ll go into a solo cup and from there into a 2 gallon and so on. I’m gonna compare the rate of growth speed between the 2 of them. All of my successful previous grows have been that way, as well as starting seedlings off under CFL, so let’s see how this goes.
Until she sticks her head out she’ll be in the corner chillin. I have a nightstand I turned into a seed starter so once that pops I’ll move her there.
It all depends on what you are going for and how much time you want to put in it on a daily basis.
Bubbleeeeessss
I started this tea yesterday , I’m gonna let it brew for about 8 more hours . It’s the seabird guano at less than 1/8th strength with Fish Sh!t and Trinity. Not really trying to feed as much as I am recharge the mother earth microbes.
I got this fish sh!t as a sample at my local hydro shop and I’ve loved it in teas. I’ll be grabbing more for sure.
Still no sign of life from the 2nd AK seed. I’ll give it a few more days before tossing it . I’m cool with 3 plants anyways itll help me get a feel for how to set up 4+ in the area in future grows. Plus in a few weeks cloning is always optional:)
The microbes will definitely help your plants. This is the most interesting part of growing for me.
Same! When I first started with nectar I was introduced to a company that they suggested called cultured biologix. Once I started researching their bags along with the effects it had with the nectar nutrients I was hooked.
When I first started looking into mother earth and saw the ingredients I knew it would be a great add on.
Feather meal, fishbone meal, crustacean meal, alfalfa, need, kelp, dolomite, and a few more. They’re gonna love this tea
It’s kinda boring In here with just some baby plants so how about some previous grows plant porn?!
This was actually my first grow ever, from a bag seed under a Mehzi 450
Gods gift grow 2 years back
This one was one of my most fun grows. I compared air pots to smart pots. Also back when I had my 4x4 and 4 different lights
On the left under the QB Skywalker OG
On the right under the blurple meihzi Royal Gorilla
.
Royal gorilla
Selling my equipment was a bittersweet ending that had to be done, but I’m getting back to that point even if its slowly
Great looking grow!
What’s your opinion on the air pots vs smart? I have been looking at the air pots but they are pricey locally.
Cheers
G
Comparatively I think the extra price is worth it . I’m gonna finish my current grow in them.
They dry out a little faster, I like that they’re taller as I have a tighter space with more headroom than most. With smart pots after a few uses of washing they lose thickness . The air pots are plastic so you just gotta sanitize and you’re good.
We have some new friends now!
The Afghan Kush is sprouting currently. I took the rapid rooter and put it into a… 8 oz? Pot I found out of nowhere lmao. Also, i added my habenaro newbie into the room since it’s not mature yet and i dont want the cold or animals to get to it yet.
I’ve actually never grown anything but weed lol. So today I decided to go build a garden outside for my own homegrown peppers and flowers/herbs to help launch my own hot sauce line. I’ve been working on that on and off for a while now but busy life gets in the way. No more of that, I figure if I grow them myself since I’m already gardening the others I’ll have no excuse . Plus… I’m trying to stop drinking so a bigger hobby is required
The Wedding cake is actually working on its 2nd set already compared to the BC that had its first set fully in before the wedding cake even started so that’s good news. Shes gonna start growing at a good rate now even after the mutation slow down. Not gonna add any pictures as they’re not much different but I will in the next few days .
Stay saucy my guys!
That’s awesome. It is super rewarding to branch out to other plants. It’s refreshingly easy and less detail oriented. It’s a good way to get away from the technical nature of indoor weed growing and into the more intuitive nature of ‘regular’ outdoor gardening. I know the cannabis community loves to repeat the, “it’s a weed, it will grow anywhere,” line but that simply isn’t true in my limited experience. I’ve been gardening for a while now and cannabis is always the hardest and most stressful. It’s orchid level attention to detail. Poppies can be just as bad, though; they’re a tough one, as well.
I did superhot peppers for a while and now have pounds of superhot pepper flakes that are too hot for me to ever eat in a thousand lifetimes. If you ever need some, let me know!
