Achy arms at night?

I felt the urge to ask all of my fellow OGers since I’ve been unable to pinpoint my issues. Getting close to 40, I’ve been experiencing the body’s youthfulness dropping. Lately I’ve been having this issue. In the middle of the night I wake up to my arms having this achy feeling to it. The best way I can describe it is it’s similar to the growing pains you get when young. It doesn’t hurt, but it makes it impossible to sleep!!! I’ve been sleep deprived for weeks now. I’ve been drinking lots of water, I take magnesium and potassium supplements, electrolytes as well too. Anyone else having this issue or know exactly what the cause of this is??? I’m a pipe welder and I don’t work out, I’m a skinny dude. Any help would be appreciated cuz I can’t pinpoint it on the internet. When my harvest is done I’m hoping there’s a way I can use the herb for medicine cuz nothing else works! Ibuprofen don’t, icy hot don’t, burning hot shower helps for an hour or two but it comes back and aching again!
Edit: I’m not seeking medical advice, more so am seeing if anyone else out there can relate or knows what it is I’m talking about, cuz I have yet to have talked with someone who know what I’m trying to describe. So I appreciate the “go see a dr” comments but don’t need anymore of those comments please. Thank you.

Did a quick search and found this,

Arm pain is a warning sign. If left untreated it can become a much larger problem which includes muscle shrinkage, permanent nerve damage, massive Rotator Cuff tears, and impaired arm and hand function.

You’d better Dr. up.

Best of luck.

Thanks for the link, I’ve seen a few of those symptoms before but not all, that referred pain seems really concerning. It’s just so hard to tell what it is! I’m still healthy and very active, quit drinking and smoking, blood pressure is good so nothing makes sense. I’m hoping there’s someone else reading this who has experienced this exact thing before.

A form of restless limb syndrome perhaps?

I’ve gotten in legs before, it’s absolutely maddening.

IDK talk to a doctor, not us stoners.

I once had elbow pain which the Dr wanted to inject cortisone to help. I really wasn’t looking forward to that. The pain was mostly at night and surely affected my sleeping.
My wife goes to a local chiropractor who is referred to as the rain man of chiropractors. She suggested that I have a visit, not for my elbows but other reasons. Long story short. In the initial evaluation. In less than 5 minutes as he was doing his thing, states this n that and asks do your elbows hurt. Needless to say… yes! He worked his magic and I have not had elbow pain for better part of 10 years.

May be worth looking in to. Best wishes and good luck!

Oh come on stoners are smart ppl too:joy::joy::joy:

Didn’t even think about a chiropractor! I haven’t been in about 10 years. That very well may be the best place to start, wow, see @vernal stoners know stuff😀

I wouldn’t trust those chiropractor quacks either.

My wife’s old chiropractor told her he did a spinal adjustment on his 1 day old newborn baby. I politely suggested she run, not walk, away.

They think spinal misalignment causes all diseases.

Look into it a bit. A physical therapist is a chiropractor that actually uses evidence approach and needs actual training.

Talk to a doctor. Not us.

This right here. I had shoulder surgery last year (rotator cuff, acromion, labrum, and others). I put it off thinking it was nothing. Recovery sucked and took months of my daily abilities from me. Sometimes, waiting only exasperates problems. Go talk to the doc bro.

I shredded labrum and cuff too in a dirtbike accident. It’s still smaller and weaker 13 years later and mobility is shit. Shoulda actually followed what the physical therapist told me to do post-op haha.

Surely see a Dr! I was merely sharing a personal experience, not trying to diagnose anything. Lol
There are “quacks” in every field of medicine!

Ugh yes, I have some pretty hilarious stories about a family member in the field… I’d only see a chiro as a last resort for back pain if I was desperate. Other than that, they’re likely to bust out the crystal healing mats on you.

I thought it was just mostly harmless placebo effect woo-woo for people who tried all the proper channels and found no relief. The newborn baby thing made me almost want to call CPS.

How can a newborn’s spine be misaligned? It ain’t even walked upright yet!

Medicine is great at keeping people alive…quality of life issues definitely has a way to go. But someone’s always there to sell a cure, effective or otherwise (it’s always otherwise). My wife’s cousin is a “crystal healer” practices reiki, etc. Glad I don’t have facebook, so I don’t have to see it but she sends me the highlights sometimes.

One day my then 12 year old cousin woke up to find grandma in the back yard burning a mattress. Apparently it was blessed by a priest for some scammy amount of money, but gave her satanic nightmares…

Also I learned that GERD can be fixed by pressing the thumb just below the sternum and twisting. Imagine my surprise when it did nothing / continues to do nothing for me.

Occasionally people die from this. Can tear major blood vessels.

Not gonna lie does look like it’d feel pretty good though haha. Love getting a solid neck pop in.

There’s not a legit orthopedic in the world that would recommend this, much less from this “doctor.” I’d love to see his patient waiver form.
