Hey y’all I’m planning to build a couple new cabinets and was about to go buy some plywood for the walls but thought ‘there must be an easier way’.
Is there something like black/white plastic that is legit 100% lightproof that I can use for the walls? I’ll still be building a wood frame for strength…
I’d get one of those premade tents, but these will be odd sizes to suit my space. Thanks for any tips!
A buddy of mine back in the day used the black and white plastic Polly liner etc. and put a black plastic liner behind it. He said it didn’t leak, personally never saw it tho bud.
I used gorilla duct tape and seems to work ok. Get the thicker mil orca and only has glow spots in an odd blem area here and there but that is all my walls are and totally lightproof.
Ya those are great but I need really strange custom sizes sadly… I’ve used mylar in the past, but never the thick stuff like that, just the wrapping paper type mirror stuff. I wonder if it’s available in rolls.
Ya through the film… maybe I’ve always bought the cheap stuff lol. I have a roll sitting here, I should do some tests. Maybe doubling it up as itokealot suggested would be the trick.
panda film is a generic name, so definitely possible the stuff you got before wasn’t up to the same standards as the version from my hydro store. I guess there may be more variability in this material than i thought, which could make it difficult to find a suitable version. If you can find it locally (usually for sale by the yard from a bulk ream of material), you could get a small piece to test with your lights before you make your full purchase.
experimenting with layering the material you already have may also work.
Ya I think that doubling it might be my solution. I’m very familiar with the stuff, I have a couple rolls of different types in my garage lol. I can’t say I’ve noticed much of a difference between types over the years.
