Adventures in seed poppin and pollen tossin

So the indoor rooms… I am harvesting 5 Shishkaberry 3f2 that are loaded top to bottom with seed for the seed increase I have going in my other thread. Not gonna post the pics in this thread but those can be checked out there…
So I moved those plants to a dark room this morning at lights out so I can deal with them away from the garden. Pulled the Rude Dog , Horny Horse Cherry Red Shitfest and the G13 out of the room and gave it another spray down and clean.
Then I gave the 3 plants thier 21 day trimming and thinning to clean out the bottoms and removed some fans here and there.
So first up is @Pigeonman 's Horny Horse Cherry Red Shitfest… boy she stretched but she has loads of bud sites. Here are before thinning and after…

then there is the Rude Dog
nice stretch on this girl and she is a stinky gal. Before and after thinning out

and the G13 is also pleasing me

K so that is those and they are 21 days of 12/12 today so long ways to go yet.

Now after much hummin and hawin and joint smoking I have shuffled my deck a little and decided to throw some other plants in the flower room to make up for the space the 5 shishkaberries have left vacant. Be a waste to run only 3 plants under that 1000W for the next 5 to 6 weeks.
So I moved a well established 90’s Blues that has a more dank skunky smell to the stem rubs and smelling the sap of a removed fan leaf.and not much berry if at all.
My Bubba Royale mother as I am probably going to let her go as I hunt for new plants in those seeds.
88G13HP … same thing I’m going to flower her out and probably take some clones before the flowers really set in. She is going to get a few branches dusted with pollen from an icmag member who sent me 88g13hp pollen from his males.
ummmm… Schromba… Was gonna save her for the greenhouse but fuk that I want to be smoking her sooner than that LOL So she got moved in to 12/12 as well.
So 4 plants replace the 5 I removed but they are bigger plants so we will see how much they stretch up and out … gonna be ineresting.

I have more to update… the veg room… after another coffee and a …

Beautiful @SHSC-1 !

The plants used to make HHCRSF gave me a 2x stretch and the actual HHCRSF i flowered out after the fact did the same.

Would you be able to confirm that they are averaging about a 2x stretch from your observations?

I would agree with that @Pigeonman and that stretch kicks off with a big spurt right around day 5 of 12/12. I remember going in there and being like wtf! did that ever shoot up LOL Stacking nice and I have lots of height left to raise the lamp as needed. She probably won’t stretch much more but I’ll keep an eye on her

forgot to post a pic of the flower room… musta been the joint. LOL

now for the rest of them…
I have pulled all the males from the veg room and am getting them ready to flower on thier own under a 400W. This will take place in another building and once I have collected enough pollen to my liking I will kill them all. Should work well enough.
So there is
1 x LUI x G13 male
2 or 3 ? Shishkaberry (98F1x2015#3f2)… but 9 more young plants to sex so those will be later on.
3 x 90’s Blues but I am still looking at them and may cull 1 or 2 depending on selection criteria.
And a week from now I’m thinking… I will be starting STS on an OGKB 2.0 clone and a Grape Pie clone. Might reverse the G13 as well because there was no male and this female is the only seed that made it. We’ll see… I will be pollinating a G13 clone with the Lui x G13 male as well, later in the season.
The males…

The Long Valley Royal are just going crazy under that HLG Bspec. I’m going to have to figure out accomodations for all these plants but I am hoping to have them sexed fairly soon and that will start thing out thier numbers some.

Finally figured out why my plants were starting to get issues… I dialed that HLG 600 Bspec up to one click below full power and I guess as the plants got taller they started to react badly to the intensity. This threw the nutrient needs off some and some issues were developing.
So I turned it down 2 clicks and all the plants in the room seem better for it. That light is one serious veg light and I have it 6 feet off the floor. Love it!!
anyhow here is a shot of the bigger plants vegging for outside… those are all Shishkaberries, Luix G13 and in the back in the middle is the Pre98 Bubba… doing it’s Bubba thing and handling everything I have been doing without a hiccup. Super resilient plant that was a nursed runt and now is a thriving healthy plant that has stayed a nice green the entire time. Smells awesome too !!!

Pic of left side didn’t turn out so good so that will have to be for another day.
I will also put up all my overgrow stickers on that sticker wall… keep forgetting!!

till next time!!

You are one busy grower, but everybody is looking great, can’t wait for the show. I am really interested to see how that slurricane does and the rude dog looks interesting. Hell they all look great… bring on the grow show

@Mrgreenthumb the slurricane is some nice weed. The sample flowers are very nice smoke.
Rude Dog has been grown by a few guys I know and after I was gifted some seeds I was eager to find out for myself. These come from the guys associated with Genus Seeds, who are working on preserving the lines of the late Classic Seeds.

Busy grower… yes LOL I always get real busy this time of year as I ramp up for the greenhouse. The majority of my personal stash is grown under the sun and I like to make my seeds in the sunshine as well
I am also trying to make up for last years breeding plans due to a vehicle crash that took some months to recover from. I wouldn’t have had a garden at all last year if it wasn’t for friends and family stepping in to save my plants and get the greenhouse going for me.

Well things are rolling right along over here.
Got some new clones to play with… Island Pink Kush, Oreoz , GSC and Chem D. The first two were rooted when they got here but the GSC and Chem were unrooted. They stayed in cups of water for 3 days which I changed every morning. They have been in starters under the dome now for 3 more days and look really good so hopefully they take. GSC on the left, Chem on the right

Started moving plants outside , the weather has been exceptional and mid 20’s C temps. So I’m giving them sunshine in the day and into the shop under floros at night to keep them in veg. Here are 4 of my 2017 Shishkaberry females from group B. I’ll get more plant pics over the coming days but these are the first of the females to start getting sunshine.

and I’m getting my soils ready for the big June 10th transplant and transfer to the greenhouse.
I’m making it in approximately 110 gallon amounts including all the amendments.
That is made up of recycled, sifted sunshine mix 4 that was left in pots and on the big tarp all winter so it could be leached by the rain and melting snow come spring time. Works good I think.
first pic is the used soil pile… probably 200 to 250 gallons worth

the sifted pile … mainly sifting out roots , sticks, leaves and other debris.

and the pile getting reammended

I counted out approx 100 gallons of sifted sunshine mix using a 5gallon bucket and then added the above ingredients.
1/4 of the large bag of coarse perlite
1 bag of composted Sheep manure
16 1/2 Pounds of Bonemeal
5 Pounds of Granulated Gypsum
1 1/2 Pounds of Dolopril
I also dusted the pile with some micronized elemental sulphur dust.

This will get dry mixed really well and then watered in with my well water and Hygrozyme and beneficial bacteria (mycos). Then covered with a tarp to “cook” until june 10th.
This is just the first 110 gallon batch… I need to make about 300 gallons of fresh mix once all is said and done
fun times ahead!!

damn 16 1/2 pounds of bone meal HAHAHAHA, i use 12 oz per batch of soil.

very nice …

The mix I use is based off what is called the Tom Hill “water” only soil mix.
I’ve been using it for a few years now and it works very well.
The fresh mix goes like this:
6 x large bags of Black Gold soil
1 x bale of Sunshine Mix 4 (or promix hp)
1 & 1/3 bag of Sheep manure (he calls for a brand of chicken manure but sheep is acceptable and I prefer it)
16& 1/2 Pounds of steamed Bone Meal
1/3 of a large bag of coarse perlite
5 Pounds of Agriculture Grade Gypsum
1 & 1/2 Pounds of Dolomite (i use dolopril)

water in and cover for 3 weeks before planting.
In my short season I find that this so far has been the ideal mix and my flowers come out nice and clean and tasty at harvest. Yields have been very respectable as well and this mix is quite affordable and simple compared to many other outdoor mixes I have ran over the years.
The gypsum and bonemeal levels are key to the success of the mix.

in this case, I am using soil I mixed 3 or 4 years ago and each year I am just adding back to it to reammend and replace what was used up or leached out. I am not adding more sunshine mix or black gold this year, just the gypsum, dolopril, bonemeal and manure.
For reammending the soil I backed off the full amounts of sheep manure and perlite.
so that’s that… now to wait for this to cook and on june 10th the season officially gets underway!!!

Well it’s mass transplanting timeof all the seedlings in starters and I am going to start going through the plants in 1 gallons to look for sex. They should be showing any time now I would think.
Most males will be culled but I am looking for standouts.

Took some time today to catch up on my sticker wall
Got a few cool stickers in the giveaways and for donating to giveaways… Lots of OG love has come my way and these Over Grow the World stickers are perfect additions!!! My wife really liked the large space themed sticker… That one is super cool!!! Thanx to @Rhai88 and @Heliosphear , and I can’t forget a shout out to @Great_lakes_Genetics !!! , the sticker wall is filling up !!!

Starting to transition plants outside quite a bit earlier than normal. It has been hot and sunny and I’m making the best of it!!
Leaving all my outside lights on and just cramming them all in the brightest spot at night to keep them from flowering LOL … it’s working though.
Not the greatest pics but here’s some outside , waiting for me to get the greenhouse fans put back in and everything running. It was hitting 54C in there the other day and that’s no good LOL
Shishkaberry females

4 LUI x G13 and 2 90’s Blues… these need big pots asap.

and my haggard looking OGKB 2.0 on the right and the closer one is the grape pie… I have abused the living hell out of the Grape Pie, stress testing all winter and her clones took forever to root but I have to nice healthy young plants now from her clones. I am going to try and get her back to health in a big tote of organic soil in a couple weeks…

Just waiting for my mixes to cook under the tarps and the soils will be ready to go for 1st week of June.
Oh and the estate’s chief of security lounging around with a stick… she hates her picture taken and always gets this funny look on her face LOL

thanx @JAWS , she is a good lookin girl.
very tempermental though and she needs some stiff training over summer. She has been challenging me lately and my patience with that is pretty thin.

So… update in th garden… jam packed veg room and still 20 days to go to put them out full time. The plants I did put outside have adapted well to full sunshine and now the challenge will be to keep them hydrated and healthy while my soil mixes cook. I’ve got the 100 gallon piles on seperate tarps and they are covered up nicely to heat up in the sunshine. I’ll add mycos and bennies when it gets opened up and remixed for potting the plants up.
I should have thought ahead and bought a bunch of those 12V LED light strips and ran them off a battery and my solar trickle charger for the boat LOL String those up in the greenhouse and that would stop the plants from triggering… next year… its always next year LOL

Anyhow back to the veg room…

the two headed Pre 98 Bubba Kush S1 nothing seems to phase this plant and it has been that healthy green since it stopped being a runt. So glad I nursed this thing from a stalled out pair of cotyledons with no growth in the center to a two headed sexy gal

some clones down there… Pink Kush, Oreoz, a couple grape pies and an ogkb 2.0

The yellow seedlings are the Long Valley Royal… they get real finicky i the first couple weeks if you try and feed them too soon hehehe They will be greened right up and thriving by next update.
All the small plants in the middle of the floor are 17 biker kush (left) , 8 Mikado x Tropicanna cookies from @stanknugzz77 and long valley on the right.
Most of the mature plants are Long Valley Royal as well for a total of 30 and among them are 8 shishkaberry, and clone plants of OGKB 2.0 (4) and G13bx.(2)
Can’t list all the plants… suffice to say I’m crazy busy in the garden trying to keep up with IPM and PH and nutrients for multi strains… fun times.
June 10th can’t come soon enough. Gonna be nice to shut the rooms down and have everything outside

That is pretty early for you, last year I put my plants out the second week in May and it was too early and they started to flower.

Good luck this year brother man!

I am still hustling my plants in at night for a few hours of led light,

I’m starting light dep earlier too. My plants on average are “much” bigger than pervious year and some will start light dep pretty much as soon as I can manage it.
I have too many plants and will have to be thinning the herd. I haven’t culled any of the remaining biker and none of the long valley. I have a bunch of shishkaberry females… probably at least 7… or 9… Long valley has shown me 10 confirmed females and one confirmed male. The weather is so perfect and the greenhouse gets sunrise to sunset uninterupted sunlight now that the logging out back is complete. I think they will be okay.
It’s the ones in the veg room still that will be my later season plants. These won’t go outside until the 10th.
We have Biker Kush V1f3 , Gorilla Bubble Bx2, Scoutbreath, Mikado x Tropicanna Cookies , Along the right side wall are the last batch of long valley royal… and clones GSC, Chem D.
