Did anyone growout or preserve the zimlicious/zimbabwe from seeds of africa ? Looks like another that maybe gone. It was from the same area as the kareba suprise and might of held some of the kareba genetics within it. Supposedly one of the higher quality africans by quite abit. Unfortunately the genetics of those seem to be hard to find now even in Zimbabwe.
that sounds like some potent stuff
Stoked to see these being run! I didn’t get ahold of a pack before he sold out and this is one of my dream crosses on paper, so this is exciting. I’ve got 5 Devil’s Tit f3 going now, just a week or so older than yours that I’ll post in a day or two. Are you considering making seeds with these?
Ah well I wish ya knew that. When I bought mine early last year there was still a last pack in stock for the longest time. Since then I see it’s sold.
Excited to see the Devil’s Tit you have! Are you posting them here or on a separate thread?
At $23/seed you can bet your bottom dollar I’m doing an open pollination on these. I’ll also throw in like 6 other stable females so I can get F1 hybrids with them too. Really hoping the Malawi leaning phenos turn out male. Not that I don’t want as much Devil’s Tit I just look at it like even with a Malawi leaning pheno there’s still 50% Tit in there lol. Something about landraces and their vigor that my mutants are lacking…
@lefthandseeds Wow. Nice! This one is on my to do list. How many weeks will it flower? Pretty fast right?
@GREANDAL looking good. These hardly stretch during flower, so keep that in mind. Heavy yielders, small plants.
@crunkyeah sounds like a winner. Keep us updated!
They’re probably about 30-35 days in flower. They’re definitely fast and the female isn’t even that tall. The males are already done, so I’m just watching for seeds to brown on the female now. I think they go only about 12 weeks, so they’re pretty quick.
That’s good to know, will help with placement in the greenhouse! Thanks
Is it usual for landraces that there leaves get funky ? Maybe becouse of different enviroment seeds are from Gambia. They were in local weed that you can get there.
@Faithisyours - It seems that plant is afflicted by what look to be aphids.
Here’s my Malawian seedlings:
2.5 weeks old
Thanks i will have a look what i can do first time facing aphids
Have you placed any of the seedlings outside in the sunlight for comparison? That seedling maybe be inbred, it’s possible that those are genetic mutations. It’s also possible that line has never been grown indoors and it is reacting to a different environment. Make some rice/milk lactobacilli, and spray it on the plants after fermenting for a few weeks. It will help build up the bacterial quality of the soil, thus helping the plant to better manage adversity.
those are some cool looking males. Seems like I never see any that flower from top to bottom.
As you said probably its some kind of mutation or they are not used to indoor i now look at them closely and there is no sign of any bugs…
Ok but if you notice some flying gnats get some BTI one drop per 5gal water the also can cause twisted new growth but will also have some yellowing of lowers just something to keep a eye out for @Faithisyours
Yeah thanks very much will have an eye on it
