Finally filled the res again today. Not much to say… Trellis is going on soon? Thinking about what pollen/pollens I should choose to toss in here soon?
Just living that good life in this tent… That Earthbox Life…

That Frodo in an EB meme is epic dude!
We had an issue…
Alien Rock Candy started going herm THIS damn early… Caught it before there was any damage done…
Had a bad feeling about that plant from the start just like I did the DosiDos, maybe I have the power of feeling/finding the herms lol.
RIP…
Good to hear you found it early enough!
It is the way she goes some times.
Grow onward!
Indeed. Don’t need anything trying to contaminate the chuckin I am about to do in there lol.
Hmm… maybe it’s the scorpio full moon eclipse… I caught a bunch of nanners too today.
My own doing though, too intense light. I dimmed it.
No pictures today, I got ahead of myself and forgot to take some before I pollenated in there so everything is on lockdown for the night.
I hit a few areas on the Royal Gorilla, Sunset and Critical Orange Punch with some of the last Strawberry Banana fem pollen that @ELG had gave me.
A little update.
Nothing done accept a few fills of the reservoir.

Sunset
Critical Orange Punch
Looks great, these constant threads on how easy EBs can be are not helping, because all i want to do is join the autopilot club!
did the pollen not take? Or did you only pollinate lowers?
Doesn’t look like any of the white pistils have died back was why I was curious
Question for you guys who use Earthbox Jr’s , or I guess I can cut the earthbox amendment in half . How much dry amendments do you use for them? I was looking at doing craft blend at quarter cup with compost for 2 rounds. Is that acceptable ?
looking at the tomatoes that are loving life in the EB on the patio has me wanting to just drop two of em in my 3x3 flower tent and be just like you @bassman5420 talk me out of it will you?
I’m running an earthbox Jr for a second time. I top dress two times, once with EWC and bokashi when I first transplant into the earthbox Jr, and the second with kelp meal and bokashi after I flip. So far so good still trying different things.
I’ve never used the craft blend but was thinking of trying it out next time I re-amend. Try it out and let us know what you think @anon74731205
@Dr.VitaminGreen The pollen did seem to take and yes I did a few lowers, I will snap a picture of the pollination signs since it was a lighter pollination and mainly just to get my buddy a few fem seeds to send him in return.
@anon74731205 I guess it depends on how you wanted to go about it.
You can start off putting a plant into the Jr. and top loading with some compost or castings, 1/2 cup craft blend and whatever other goodies like kashi/bokashi, barley etc etc. Ride that out till before flower then load it up again or just ride it till the end (I top loaded the EB’s this round and have not touched them since).
You also can just put your soil in and ride it out till before flower and then load it up with your craft blend etc for the final phase of its life.
Or if reamending I would stick to their instructions. When top dressing you can get away with overdoing things a bit more, but going overboard when reamending/remixing soil is a bit more volatile and I would stay away from doing that.
@LegsMahoney I would NEVER talk anyone out of diving head first into Earthboxes heh. I honestly would love to run tons of them if I had the room, but that will have to be in the future maybe heh.
I usually go with kelp , crab meal , and neem seed meal. I thought craft blend had a bunch of good stuff in it, it couldn’t hurt.
You can get away with using other stuff like you mentioned, Craft Blend is just a diverse mix of ingredients is all and I got a ton of it on sale heh.
It’s new soil that’s pretty high quality so I always transplant, ride it out then amend for flower phase. Unless it’s used soil and since I often go no till , I’ll amend then for a new plant, then amend again for flower.
Having said that, craft blend’s instructions aren’t super super clear so I thought maybe best to play it safe and go 1/4 cup in two waves so it has what it needs
im really just worried about what i’d do with my Chapin if i made the switch!!
The thought alone of not really having to water was worth it’s weight in gold to me
Aah yes it would get less use if only running EB’s compared to running a bed, I do only spray the top of the EB’s a few times with some goodies and/or when I add anything to the top heh.
