I’m beginning to think my setup doesn’t lend itself to fast flowering autos. Everything I’ve run wants to veg for a long time, including this Sour Crack which they claim finishes in 55-60 days or something along those lines.
Did some light defol on the bottom part… some leaves were touching the mulch and starting to look rough around the edges as a result. Started pushing the branches out to spread her canopy and just can’t believe the structure/branching of this plant. The node spacing is fairly tight, but the sheer volume of side branches coming from every single node is ridiculous. I probably should be pruning but I don’t even know where to start because it seems like everything is capable of becoming a cola of its own.
What kind of light schedule are you running man? Currently I’m finishing a Twenty20 auto under 12/12 after weeks in 18/6 damn thing just wouldn’t progress into flower but now almost done
I’m tempted to hit it with a shorter light schedule… I like 24/0 for a lot of reasons but long veg times aren’t necessarily my favorite when the goal was a fast finisher lol
How long has it been total since sprout?
35 days above ground
Oh that’s not too bad I bet she transitions pretty soon. Nice lush growth what kind of light btw?
For sure- I think last round went to about day 45 or so before she took off into flower, but that was the old school mango haze. Much more sativa leaning so I expected it. I should check back to see how long it was.
It’s a kingbrite 240w quantum board that I run much lower than max. Has the IR/UV and Samsung diodes with meanwell driver. Basically at the time it was component-wise equivalent to some of the spiderfarmer quantum boards but a hell of a lot cheaper.
Oh yeah I’m kind of a LED junkie so definitely aware of those… from Alibaba? Good deal that’s for sure and those babies work well
Ya - I want to say the shipping was a significant chunk of the price too lol. But still cheaper than spiderfarmer by a lot and has worked non-stop for years at this point. Very happy with kingbrite
Continuing with the push-and-spread training on the canopy… finally starting to get some bud formation as well, here on day 39 or so.
Left for the long holiday weekend and came back to a happy looking plant. Starting to see some frost develop, and she chugged through about 3-4 gallons while I was gone.
Chunky stalk man nice looking plant
Thanks man- I don’t know what it is but I love seeing knuckles on the stalk. Its like the plant is on roids
All organic right? That’s a hell of an auto so far and you have me rethinking ab running a big girl in large container. Normally I do small single cola in my veg area
Yeah this is 20 gallons organic. It’s definitely a commitment but I think it’s worth it. Having come from smaller pots of organic soil, it’s hard to imagine a scenario where I’d go back to that. Maybe if I had to move the plants regularly or something? Or a sea of green grow maybe… but it’s just a lot of additional maintenance and upkeep to make organics work in those smaller sizes, at least it was for me.
I’ve enjoyed reading this journal! Yours is the first I’ve seen the type of growing you’re doing (one giant pot of living soil in a very small tent). You get quite the jungle! So I’d say your commitment is paying off nicely.
Thank you for the kind words. I needed some encouragement today so truly, I appreciate it.
