Any hunters on the forum?

Fuck that shit, animals don’t see color.
Can see outlines and patterns but black and white is what they see color wise.

That could happen anywhere right now…not sure if that guy was gun or bow hunting, but I’m gonna get in a stand tonight without any orange bc I’m bow hunting. Most states orange isnt required til gun season. If there were cougars around here, that could happen to me if someone decided to be as careless as the shooter in the story…

my state is only like 2% public land and I think id feel safer back in Afghanistan than hunting on any of it during firearms season. it gets wild. im fortunate to have access to private property to hunt on and I still throw my orange vest on during firearms season just in case. I had someone pull over on the road a few years back during archery season while i was in my stand and take a shot with their rifle at a small buck in the field my stand was facing. jackass missed an 75-80 yard shot seated, while resting on the door. I hollered and he sped off. some people are just too dumb and dangerous to be allowed to own guns.

Illinois while turkey hunting you must have so many square inches.
Birds have better eyes than deer.

And if hunting land where you know others are at, where that orange to your stand then shed it if you must.

Any time a gun season is going on you should have some orange on unless duck or dove hunting.

That guy in canada was shot bc the idiot behind the trigger thought that he was a cat in a tree. In the Midwest, its a requirement for orange when another deer gun season is going on, in most states at least. Right now its just bow, so no orange req’d.

I’m not saying I’m against orange during gun season, just saying I’ll be in a tree tonight without orange, and I’ll be in full compliance. Orange would save me tho from some idiot who doesnt care about seasons and just wanted to shoot something he thought was an animal in a tree, not knowing it was a person.

For real bro, and it’s sad. People idolize athletes and celebrities when we have plenty of real heroes to look up to. It’s a backwards world.

It always feels awkward getting thanked for appreciating those that signed a check up to the value of their life to protect me, my rights, and my freedom.

Tell me about it, I swear ever since no child left behind and participation trophies came around, there’s been almost nothing but entitled, whining little snowflakes being pushed into the world. My god, I had to actually teach a 20 y/o employee how to mop a floor. Like legit she was just splashing water around with a dripping wet mop. I know that the parents are to blame too, not just schools.

Vietnam vets are particularly close to my heart. I always go out of my way to thank them. Out of likes

Edit: please tell your father thank you for me.

I realize that my post was bordering political… but I’m just being a middle aged grouch lol.

All the most respect to service members. I literally couldn’t do it. I attempted the army back when I graduated high school, ended up not being able to make it through boot camp (twice since I repeated training from week one when I didn’t pass the first time),
