Anyone else up North getting antsy?

Since your closer to them than I, check out Maine clone co in Waterville, great a group to work with if your interested in picking up some clones. Site says medical but their door says 21+ hehe.

Then there’s cannabis seed bank of Maine in Farmington, I highly recommend the blueberry from them.

Of course there’s always risks taking in clones, just have to be diligent and clean them, plus having a weekly/bi-weekly preventative treatment is a good idea anyway. Most of the pests people worry about are just as likely to be brought in on your cloths, and if you have pets that go out.

I popped some Blueberry, GSC, Purple Haze & Wedding Cake after I flipped my White Widow, Jack Herer & Blue Dream here in Michigan. Growing helps me make it through the winter blues big time I was born in the wrong state lol. I can spend hours in my room & come out feeling more upbeat. Maybe it’s the bright lights & outdoor feeling😊 but I love it.

That right there! Besides spending the day out on the ice fishing, I can’t think of a more therapeutic/relaxing way to spend winter.
Reason I love being in the north, winters means no bugs! Also don’t need to deal with a boat :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Ice fishing, summer selections and veggie garden planning, makes for a warm winter. Missing your fish pics on the other thread (the thread that smells like minnows LOL) @Seamonkey84 . This year we have a licence for 17 outdoor plants, so we will see what stands out in the cave over the next couple months. We usually have pretty large bushes by transplant time. It is good to have space indoors for this. Our livingroom table is covered with veggie seedlings all thru April/May and I swap out the ceiling fan for a 4 foot flouro light. Gets downright tropical in here come spring…cheers

Hello SM

I like seeing that pic, when I lived in wa state we went ice fishing and for my 1st time doing this I was amazed that 5 to 15 lb northern pike are still so active…

Me and my wife drive to Maine every summer and live here in a fishing town so no lakes around lol

you have a great day and stay warm lol

Unfortunately I have not been able to get out much this last year, hope to catch up a bit here during the hard water season, but getting a late start on that too, still haven’t been out.
@HashstasH yes pike and many other fish are fairly active all winter long. Some of the biggest pike I’ve seen caught came through the ice. Though Trout are really aggressive compared to everything else.

I keep thinking about the timing…

I think I really should hold off on popping the Autos until about April 1st. Can’t really put much outdoors until mid to late May…so that would give them 2mos indoors, and then 2mos to finish outdoors, June/July.

I’ll have to figure out how much room I can really use in my little attic grow space, I’ll be starting a crap ton of tomatoes about that time.

Photos will get started earlier, prob Feb 1stish, so I can both sex them, and cut a bunch of clones after that.

one more month before organic gardening season around my place. Got lots of seedling incubation space set up with lights. I should try some organic hydro autos this year!

Thinking about this more over the last day or so, I think what I’m going to do is pop 8-10 seeds next week, in my little room upstairs.
That should give me enough time to grow them a bit, sex them, take clones, and get them all ready to go outside.
Hopefully I’ll have some good 4’ plants by June 1st, and can plant them out and get some size to them.
I’ll stick with the plan of popping autos on Mar 1st.
If this all works out, and anyone local wants some clones, I’m more than willing to share. I stopped giving them to friends/family cuz they don’t know what they’re doing, and it’s just a waste of good plants. Easier for me to just give them a few ozs when it’s all said and done. Last year I did about 20 clones, kept 8 for me and the neighbor, gave the rest away.
This year I plan on doing one of the DIY cloners, already have the parts/pieces, so you KNOW I’m gonna want to play with the new toy  so could be a LOT of clones running around. Might ask for a small donation to the soil/plant pot fund, but we’ll see, may not need to.

Some people have no problem doing this, but often, if you put the plants out early but mature, they will start to bloom since theres still short daylight period in early spring.

I keep telling these UK Cheese clones that it’s still another 128 days until you are going outside!

I’ve never had a cheese strain, can’t say I’ve even been around one being smoked. Can you describe them?
