Anyone else up North getting antsy?

@GREANDAL , it smells “floral” until you break up the nugs and then “oh, that’s why it’s called cheese…”

Smoking bong the smoke I find a little heavy but that can also be a charm; you KNOW you are smoking versus my White Widow x Critical Orange which is so mellow when smoked you question if you are even smoking cannabis (mouth feel comment).

The high I enjoyable, it gets my partner ANGRY but she’s Scottish so it’s prob the UK in this strain that brings out the “FUCK THE ENGLISH” rage.

It’s kind of berry when you first inhale, and then musky earthy cheese notes on the exhale and afterwards linger.

A friend gave me a clone of this a few years ago, which I clones, mothered and grew both indoors and outdoors… the thing was that it really shined outdoors. No matter the severe fuckery of the unstable weather which resulted in me battling PM and bud rot all sept-October the ONLY plant that gave nay a single FUCK was this UK Cheese.

So since it stood strong from May-Nov 2021; it’s earned a spot for 2022! (only autoflowers this year otherwise)

Where I am you can’t plant out until end of May…by that time we’ve got daylight from 4:30am to 9pm, so not even close to a 12/12 cycle.
Our trouble is on the other end of the grow…by the time they go into flower, it’s a race against 1st frost/cold temps to get buds ripened up without being in a greenhouse.

So you’re looking at maybe 150+ plants?

Yowsah.

Lol yes. It will be a group grow. Got a few hands to help.
And itll be far from professional lol.

I feel your pain @Lobstah

May 24 - Oct 15 = safest window
Oct 15-31 = risky window
Nov + = good fucking luck without a greenhouse.

Nice! That sounds ideal for up here. I get the mouth feel thing, kinda like red wine to me. Sometimes a strong sativa can be too smooth and get you too high for whatever plans you had. lol

:yum: :yum: :yum: :yum: One for each Strain lol

Yup…and even that last bit is questionable…I’ve read that cannabis plants basically shut down at 45deg.

This week I’ll start fixing up my grow space in the attic.
I was originally going to germinate 6 seeds.
Thinking now I’ll do about 30 or so  By the time things are starting to get crowded upstairs, it’ll be warm enough in the basement that I can move things down there.
So in a few months, I should have a pretty good start on things.

Now I just have to decide what strains to grow.

What a fantastic community this is…so glad I found it.

16 below where I am today! What autos are you going to start? This will be the first year for me doing autos outside. I’ve had some rough outdoor years with photos and I’m tapping out. Photos stay indoors and the new auto chapter begins for the outdoor shenanigans. Been a long winter and I’m ready for spring!!

I have some Amnesia Haze, couple of Kush’s. I’ll probably start the autos around 4/1. 2mos indoors, 2mos outdoors on the deck

How far north are you?

46.79 North. So by those maths we must use roughly the same frost free date right around Memorial Day? Sounds like a plan, I’ll do likewise, except mine will be bush grown and not on the back deck.

I’m at 44.5, so close enough. I’ve snuck stuff out around 2-3rd week of May, but have to watch it like a hawk. Stuff on the deck is pretty safe, close to the house, so I put things there for a bit before planting them out.
I bought some plastic, 55gal drums, and cut them in half for some containers. Did the wicking planter deal, which works pretty good, but this year I’m just going to do drip irrigation on everything in the beds.

I have a bunch of seeds, mostly from OG members/auctions, and I need to start running some of them.

Going to be tough thinking about popping beans after this weekend…looks like we’re getting a thumpin’ up here.

Stay safe, and sharpen those shovels

This morning’s forecast for coastal Maine is 16-24".
Good time to feed the woodstove, sit back and enjoy a couple of caramels for breakfast

Pitter Patter, Let’s get at her!

What to do, what to do!

Can’t wait any longer…it’s bean poppin’ time. Just can’t decide which ones.

Three of those are autos, so not going to pop any of those for another month or two.

That gives me 12 varieties, so will start by popping 4 from each.

Then we’ll see how many females we get

How do you do your autos? Just leave them in pots on your deck?

Great question…unfortunately I can’t answer…this is the first time I’ve ever grown them.
At least one will be in a container on the deck, we’ll see how it does.
Last year I tracked the Wedding Cake on the Deck.
Will probably do the same with the autos. Seems like they’d be well suited to a container since they’re a smaller plant, but like I said, first time with autos.

So stay tuned…lol
