Anyone live/work in Las Vegas?

Looking at a quick weekend flight out to Vegas to meet my son, and attend a concert. I’v got a few questions…

The Strip… has it been reopened after the F1 race and returned to less than a construction zone?

Taxi… are they old smelly hippy’s that charge an arm and a leg? I cant walk long parts of the strip with back and leg pain. are there shuttles that run where you could jump on and off where ya wanted?

If you were to stay at one of the Casino/Hotels… which ones? Concert is at the Pearl @ Palms Casino/Resort. They show rooms at roughly $500 for two nights, whereas i can stay @ Trump Tower 2 miles up the strip for half that. The Trump accomodations are through VRBO whereas i havent seen the Palms on VRBO

Weed… where would ya send me? Flower and a vape or two.

Anything must see?

Medmen for the weed I enjoyed it. I stayed at new York new York and enjoyed that too. Definitely hit the hidden pizza place at the cosmopolitan it is awesome! The strip is a great place for shopping too. Nice clothes nice prices. I suggest seeing a cirque du soleil show while you’re there. Always amazing. Enjoy man. Fun place

i lived and worked out there for almost 9 years, the strip, dont walk it. it is long and not as easy as you think, esp. with the heat. the heat, have bottle water if your out. its a dry heat yes but like sticking your head in the oven as it is hot there. taxis, yes take them, they all charge a straight fee, or lyft or uber. gamble if you want but i cant say you will win.
weed is always there, and now its rec, it is abundant at the many outlets. the shows are worth it, from the blue man, if they are still there or what ever catches your fancy the shows are good as lots of hotels get customers from them as well as income. things you can see in las vegas, freemont street, then casinos and lots of traffic, but freemont street is def, a good time
things to see out of the city and not that far out, red rock, mt charleston, sunrise mt, and of course hoover dam, lake mead, and the small wild west shows.
if you rent a car, most give unlimited miles in vegas, californa, and arizon, that opens up a lot more to see,
hope this helps. have fun

no still can’t walk it construction everywhere. Fremont is better cabs suck Uber or lyft IMHO The strip has the monorail but that only goes to a few mgm casinos on the strip.

Check out The Lexi it’s 21 and over cannabis friendly.
@GCBudz hit me up with any questions man I’m there 4 days a week. also @Sincitytoker might can chime in on this.

The Shelby mustang museum is close to the strip and FREE! Temps are running 105°+ in Las Vegas so daytime is bad for most things but Fremont is covered. Fremont has cool light shows on top cover at night and weekends can catch a free band here and there. Honestly Fremont has more character and better walking access than anywhere. Some casinos have free parking on Fremont as well.

this hotel rocked! Stayed there when @bu2b came to Vegas to visit. We also did the Flyover which is and submervise media. anyways it is like your are hang gliding where ever “trip or journey” you pick. Air for wind, mist when go through the clouds. Full image type screen effect except your seats slide out into a void and move with your view. it was pretty funding cool was like $45 a piece not bad the first 10 minutes is a waste but after that mind-blowing. The shows on the weekends prices go way up.

Great info guys!

Let me go through it, check out the rates at the Lexi and see how things look for a very short visit.

Son due to stop home this weekend for few days, we will get time to check things out. I’ll know this coming Tuesday if I got a few seats to the show… and the trip is on.

Thank You… this visit would be Oct 4th and 5th… fly out on the 6th.

A good deal on the strip is circus circus. There are buses that continuously go up and down the strip. Don’t need taxis. I prefer Fremont street downtown to the strip. Though i wasn’t rolling in money when I lived there, I was always able to have a great time for less than 10-20 for the entire night. That’s a show and drinks and food. They practically give everything away because they want to entice you into other vices.

Pick up a Las Vegas weekly.

Thanks for the tag 420noob
Strip has stayed under construction for the past 2 years lol.
Not as bad as last year when we were getting ready for F1
The Gold coast casino is across the street from the palms and might be a bit cheaper.
But in reality rates go up on the weekends and you will be looking at rates from the $200-$500 a night on the strip.
Like mentioned above circus circus will be cheaper but you are on the end of the strip and a mile or so from the main casinos.
Downtown will definitely be cheaper and would probably have a better time than the strip.
Rapid you’re not rich :joy:.
There is plenty to see,eat and several different types of shows and so on and so on.
Hit me up if there’s anything specific you are looking for.
I will steer you in the right direction on what ever it is your in to…

The downtowner boutique hotel is nice and quite close to Fremont and reasonable. I’ve stayed there many times. Circus circus is usually one if the cheapest. I agree with @Sincitytoker Fremont will probably be more fun than the strip. The buffets for cheap aren’t a big thing anymore. Prices have gone way up now casinos want all your money all the time instead of what you lose. That was the draw of Vegas was everything was cheap so can give casinos your money while staying. Now casinos take all your money before you even get checked in lol. Shrinkflation is evident yesterday was 113° in Vegas caar read 111° it’s gonna be a hot hot summer.

look at temp next to mileage!

Busy today, havent had a chance to check out some of the suggestions…

I sure as hell hope it’s not 104* in October!

Hopefully i score two of 5,000 tickets being offered on Tuesday, then i’ll actually book a flight and place to stay.

Great input on the strip, or lack of one currently. Always had the desire to drive it under the lights… however, iv seen a pic or two of Freemont St and the lights… that will be the area we spend time in most likely.

Thanks all…

I would suggest taking a virtual tour on google maps street view to see what that neighborhood is actually like…it only gets more interesting the farther east you go.

Wish I have done that before I went drunk wandering the red light district at 2am many years ago.

Lol ya it’s bad! Tweekers everywhere. When my lady was getting hip surgery(damn we sound old) we stayed by Arizona Charlie’s on boulder WOW! Ive been homeless before but this is a whole new level of messed up! Extreme heat, chemically made drugs, and gambling addiction all mixed into one. Some third world countries would be like WTF!
