Attic cluster

greetings. growing 30 odd regulars in my attic. the thing that may be of interest is that its heading into winter and the plants are currently about one week into flowering . there is no insulation under the tile roof other than reflective lighting paper . temperatures in the autumn right now are fluctuating between 0-8 degrees and can easily go into minus and snow at anytime . im using led quantum boards and just one hps lamp . would have been good to get a few more hps lamps up there but can not be bothered . natural ventilation through the roof tiles and attic window. i also have two carbon scrubbers which are not connected to ducting - just circulating the air . lets see what happens  pictures will pop up soon .

hi . ill update that shortly. its definitely not ideal . the distance from the lights to the floor is probably around 130 cm but ill get the accurate measure up here .
on previous runs this summer there was not a lot of light damage to the plants . the one hps that i have now running is actually a cmh so its also fine to get the plants quite close to that i have noticed. anyhow , a bit of light burn did not affect the yield or the health of the plants overall.

temperatures currently into minus 2 overnight for the next three days . these plants had better be tough. the yellow looking plants in the photos are actually the pollinated plants at the end of their cycle(hopefully soon …) im basically going to answer the question " can i grow in winter ". i did not select any special genetics to help with this consciously. also autoflowers are not interesting to me . so im guessing at the moment that the plants need watering around once every 5-7 days. they are on 11 hour days now and i may drop it to 10 hours after another month if they survive .

not too shabby for a ghetto grow . 1.5 kw per hour -6 lights - 6m of underroof growing area . however, its true that there is zero cleaning going on . its just left to its own and causes no issues . ive done the whole apartment thing full of plants in multiple tents and am definitely liking the plants having a separate area away from everything . how is your ghetto grow going ?

ive pulled of some reasonable buds from such a set up so far. it is not 2 dimensional with the light distance but 3d with spacialdistances and 4 d with intensity and light timing, the plants simply suck the light up if you have most factors balanced. myth bust number one for me … the plants dont mind. its been minus 4 the last few days and im about to do a update. they also are fine right now. … going for the myth fuck bust here .

here is the plants after the last few days minus 4 and snow . ive not watered them for around 6-7 days . might do it tomorrow. some are doing better than others . theres some haze dominants which are looking pretty droopy. theres some other indica types that are standing like its nothing. temperatures are due to rise significantly over the next week. im hoping that will allow me to feed them more and get them to hurry up with some bud development. anyhow . not too much of interest happening now really. slow motion . will try another update in a week or so. cheers

hello people . its been 3 weeks . ive watered perhaps 3 times . temperatures below 0 in the night mosly and in the day usually around 5 degrees . plants are still pumping . not clearly as much as in summer time . there is a mix of plants so some are doing better . 1) there is 2 types of jack herer clones . and indica dominant pheno and a short purple haze… 2) theres some gsc crossbreed stuff 3. some zkittlez crossbreed stuff . 3 ) also one killer purple male shich ive taken photos of. it looks vigorous as fuck i think. the hazey jh clones are droopy leafed and the indica jh looks like a good selection- a lemony indica taste and smell . short and heavy buds . ive run it on one other round in warmer conditions and pulled a harvest . good weed. things are different now for sure and im not sure if i can pull off a huge harvest … well see. i think they will take another 4 weeks minimum . probably 5-6 - god damn it - thats all the way through a rough european winter. cheers everyone and good weekend . will probably take a few clones off the best of these flowering plants and remove the big purple male any others this weekend . over and out . will do more pics in a couple

hi people . have continued this thread as a attic cluster update .
will try and take some photos.
to cut a long story short . … the conclusion is that the plants and very capable of growing slowly in cold temperature threw the winter however the plants are slow and the buds are not large. ive also pollinated some of the plants. so its a useful thing to do if you want to get a extra breeding cycle squeezed in.
overall i learnt it is not worth paying for the electricity really. i cannot insulate in the roof really as it would cause potential rot issues in the contstruction. the sativas were strong - the afghans /cookies were slow as hell possibly due to the humidity ? cheers

here they all are after a month of freeze
