Those dehus are gangster AF. Drain your toilet bowl and let the sewer gas in strong.

I have yet to try any kind of extraction.

Decent storm came through and power has been out for thirty minutes already. Not good for these things. Them’s the breaks.

I’m trying to search on here, but not finding what I’m looking for. Anyone have a link or info on doing alcohol extractions and stuff?

Edit: Ahhhh, I remembered the name for it. QWISO and found info. Any other options besides QWISO and RSO? Probably prefer those over Green Dragon and whatever the other tincture is called.

Sounds like someone is preparing for the worst. I hope it doesn’t happen.

I kind of want to do it no matter what now. But, I definitely don’t assume the tiny spot I found is the only stuff in there. I’m sure it’s inside quite a few flowers now. The extraction stuff excites me though. Never done it. Just remember people blowing shit up with tubes back in the day and I didn’t touch those extracts for years after watching them get made. The insides of those PVC pipes… Haha

We did QWISO once many, many years ago with a bunch of less than stellar commercial. It works, but I probably wouldn’t do it again. The trick is one wash, very quickly to keep it clean. Evaporation takes forever in a humid environment.

Sweet! Thanks! I’ll throw up a thread asking about it before I get ready to do it. Might do that now as I sit here in the dark. Haha

I prefer to do ice water extraction. From there you can work it many different ways and not have to deal with chlorophyll or other contaminants.

Yeah, I just hate doing bubble or is ice water extraction something else? Plus, I’m in FL, so it’s always hot and humid. Nothing stays cool for long. I usually dry ice hash everything, but had no clue I could do that with flower with some rot on it. I’m just going to do that I’m thinking. Still trying to find out if that’s safe or what though.

Estimated power back on time was 8:38 and now 9:58. You’d think it’d be cool after a day of clouds and a storm for a few hours until darkness, but I’m sweating my ass off. Haha

Oh yeah, you’re 100% correct it’s bubble. Never thought about having to make it in a climate like yours. I usually wait until mid winter when my garage is -15°C and use one of em fancy camping washer machine things lol. I have a couple lbs I’m going to run this winter, expecting a good return!

I would think the spores would still transfer to the product. I always sadly toss contaminated flower. Luckily I haven’t had any in a long time. I have to add humidity to my grows!

Brutal summer. I lived in Los Angeles or close by for a little over fifteen years. That weather will spoil you. Haha

Honestly, humidity kills me. I was offered work in Texas…I thought about it for less than a minute and decided I wouldn’t survive that weather wearing our Canadian coveralls that were required by our employer. But I will never work another day in -40 either. Fuuuuuuu that noise. I was raised in a very temperate climate and that seems to be what my body prefers.

That’s the truth! And here in the SF Bay Area I feel even more spoiled rotten.

It’s beautiful up there. Always loved it, but there were some cold windy days up there. But, I honestly like that, because the cold isn’t Chicago cold or anything. Now you have me feeling even worse about the climate here. Haha

The only qwiso I’ve ever made was while cleaning the mesh of my bubble bags. Really quite nice, but it’s true evaporation takes forever if you’re not using heat.

That’s what I’m super curious about. What are the options and times for evaporation? Also, the safety and safety measures needed when using heat around volatile stuff. I’ve never messed with anything besides bubble and dry ice, because all of that butane blasting grossness and sketchiness safety-wise sketched me out big time. Haha Thanks for any help and info!
