I thought so, but I’ve been having some overheating issues. My 2x4 has 4" intake and 4" exhaust and it gets up to 92 degrees sometimes. The ambuent temp in the room has been in the low 70s, and I run the exhaust out of the room. I was pulling in some outside air and it was helping, but then it was so dry, the seedlings weren’t happy. Mostly the 35-40% range now, but better than 15 for sure. Any ideas?
Open water ( 5 gal with a bubbler) and ac infinity or otherwise humidity/ temp control exhaust? May work, do not know all parameters of your funk…
Yes, both fans are ac infinity.
I take goes in the bottom left, exhaust out, the right side out the very top. Both fans are connected to the same controller.
Used HPS for decades, LED run cooler. Much Love…
Obviously like your work @Badger !!!
Thanks buddy. I’m loving it. I’ve been away for too many years.
Me too my friend, good to be back!!!
Like Sasquatch said open water I sometimes sit a cup of water in my small tent
I’m kicking myself for not starting back up years ago when I had more of a budget and time. If I had known overgrow was back up, I prob would of joined just to read, then catch the fever lol.
Woulda coulda shoulda thats what i keep saying. When i had the funds to start back up,i did not have the time…Then i got all the time to grow but lacked the funds.Slowly building and expanding. After this harvest i will be able to upgrade and expand again…
Good advice on the water tip…i bought a 3l cool mister for 20bucks and my seedlings have been thriving with it since.
I’m more wanting to get the temps down a bit to start. They run up to 92 most days. Then I can work on the humidity. I have a couple damp towels on an open shelf right now.
Wow, my tent only gets like 8-10 degrees warmer with the lights on, I haven’t seen it get over 82 since I installed my exhaust fan. Is that with the T5s running?
Yes. It’s a bit frustrating, plus makes the humidity issue worse. I really don’t get it either. 2, 4 inch fans running full blast.
I may have to hook them both as exhaust fans and run the passive vent on both sides. I just figured more than one 4" for a 2x4 would be overkill. Guess not.
That is nuts, I know that those T5s out out some heat but wow. Oh, you have two light units in the tent, that could do it lol. Remember, wattage is wattage, still produces heat. I can’t remeber, how much does each of those fixtures draw? My little 4 bulb 24” unit for my reef tank was already ~100w
Exactly… I started (this time) with a 50w cxb3590 …upgraded to a 200w dual cxb3590…won the marshydro ts1000 giveaway…bought another ts1000…just bought a ts600 (should be here any day).
Will have 550w in flower and 100w veg
Started in a 2x2 …expanded to 5x2…lit up the other closet… currently 7x2 flower space and a 2.5x2.5 veg.
I’m maxed out with my closets now…where to go from here…hmmm
From what I can find, 244 watts, each.
Yea, almost 500w going in there, that would do it. 300w in my 3x3x6ft brings it up ~10F.
Man, this orange is only not ugly as hell during hunting season (our rivals in college football wear that color, boomer sooner) !
They are working very well on the plants though. Besides the heat, I’m glad I got them for sure.
Would I be better off moving the other fan to pull? I bet I would. I’m still learning this indoor stuff. We didn’t even have tents when I did this the first time. I wish I would have gotten a 6 inch fan instead. At least I had the second 4" though!
