The grill creates an air gap between the reservoir and the soil. The soil wicks up water from the corners. It’s supposed to create crazy fast growth. I believe the air gap is how the soil can stay moist, yet aerated.
Sorry for the color, I don’t have the controller hooked up yet. I can’t wait to see what these ladies are gonna do.
I watered them in with rainwater. Here in a few days I’ll give them some ewc tea, and then start bottom watering after that, I believe.
I found it silly that the same product came with 2 different types of mulch material. The back is the advertised plastic, the front is material. I’m sure the plastic will do a better job of holding moisture in.
Plants in the cp boxes starting slowly. I’m not shocked at all. They had just been up-potted as I wasn’t expecting to use these plants. Plans changed, so a few days worth of roots got ripped off. It is what it is.
No, I bought it. I’ve been getting water from work and found myself short the other weekend. I didn’t like that.
I have limited space, so I use what I can. I’ll have to get set up better, but this is an improvement to relying on someone else. It’s supposed to clean 50 gallons a day, so I should be good for awhile.
All my life is in my soil. Ro water is easier for the plant to adjust the ph in the rhizosphere, as I understand when it is low ppm. Similarly, it doesn’t take much ph down to adjust the same water.
I’m trying to make it as easy as possible on thenokants and microbes. I should have all the nutrients I need in that soil. I’ve spent a pretty penny to ensure that.
I’ve heard that plants actually need some chlorine. My only beef with it, is that it kills microbes. Since my style relies so heavily on microbes, I try to minimize it.
My main goal is consistency. I want something I can recreate closely for each run.
Apparently I’m getting a little better at cloning. We barely got a clone of this ppp2 last time around. When I cloned off the survivor, it rooted fast.i was shocked that it rooted faster in the peat pod, than in the water.
These orange grove aren’t too happy. They were in tiny pots for too long, and my starter mix isn’t too popular with seedlings. They are in a bit bigger pots with super soil now, they should perk up and take off.
I’ve had better luck with the peat pucks, than I did with the cubes. My water clone is what has given me real success, but being out of room I put some in the pucks, under a dome. I was shocked at roots in a week. That’s my first time getting roots that fast.
