I just realized what the sils in your title meant, d’oh! I’m embarrassed to say what I thought it meant, lol!
Cree was started here, and a few years back they made some sort of deal with Duke Power and Home Depot to sell their sils cheaply, like $1 for their 16W, I bought a bunch. Best quality of any sils I’ve seen. I put the 16W’ers on a Kilowatt Meter and they all pull 18-19W
The led chips are very directional, like straight out, unless they have some sort of lens.
I’m the opposite, I go for more chips, but I like chocolate cake with chocolate icing… nonetheless, watt you’re doing is definitely working,
I got mine from a similar promotion. But up here it was the electrical utility offering Maxlite bulbs at the local discount store with a gift card for the full value of the bulbs. So a 4 pack of bulbs was $3, and you got the full value back on a gift card. So I bought x10 15 watt in 5000k and 27000k, and x10 8 watt in 5000k and 2700k. The quality of the 15 watt 2700k was scary bad, cold solder joint a plenty, they all got pitched. But the other are fine, good enough that I can’t justify replacing them.
For sure, more leds of a lower power would be my ideal as well, but beggars can’t be choosers lol. And thank you, I do watt I can haha
I have the broken branch drying right now, and I asked my wife what the room smelled like. Normally she will give a good description, notice something I haven’t, idk, just seems like she “gets” smells better than me. So I was kind of expecting something like that. Her response?

I’m gonna have to smell it some more before I try to describe it. Certainly different. Smelling the branch it seems like you get no smell, just like green plant smell. But the room fucking bumps. Hmmmmm.
Had a toot of the broken Purple Satellite. Even immature, that is some good fucking smoke. Jury is still out on the smell. Sawdusty, old cat smell, bit of mint underneath. Like if you had an apartment that had a bunch of cats in it like 10 years ago, and you can’t get the smell out. That, plus sawdust and mint.
High was totally clear. Euphoric but not loopy. Tiny bit speedy, especially in the chest. Like, if you ever taken speed, and it feels like your chest muscles are contracting, feeling short of breath almost, but like the opposite if that makes sense. Like my chest was expanding, starting right below my throat. Pretty fucking awesome. Stoked to see how it is when it’s really ready.
The time is coming soon for this one. Only 35ish days since going into 12/12, but it did start to flower back in 14/10 so I’m not sure the flip day is worth considering. Gonna give it one more savage dry back and see what we get, if no more new growth might chop it this weekend.
Yeah! That’s what that dude said in a post on the Doc D thread. I think it was there, anyway. Mentioned that they were all done at 56 days, which I thought was pretty surprising. Good to know it wasn’t just him getting a bunch of quick-finishers haha.
Plants look great, regardless. I’m supposed to plant some new seeds tomorrow, still haven’t even looked at my list to decide what it is I’m gonna sow. Maybe I’ll plant some of those Chocolate Blitzes haha…

Still haven’t decided what, though haha… I’m thinking Doc’s Santa Cruz Pure Haze x A5Thai, Doc’s Sour Diesel x DE, maybe Bodhi’s Chem D x GHash and something else. I dunno. I really have no idea. For sure the SC Pure Haze, but I have no fucking clue after that.
Found a couple seeds on the lowers of one of the Chocolate Blitzes. Checked the whole plant over, saw no male parts. I would assume this is from the Purple Satellite, but I don’t see seeds on the other plants… yet. Fuck, the PCB X A5HT has like, 1% pistils just barely starting to darken. And for that matter, that is only one of them, the other has none that I can see!
Happy I chose not to make seeds this run, woulda been all for naught.

Smell is really soft and delicate fruits. Melon, maybe strawberry.
Planted 4/17, started flowing in 14/10 in the end of May. Stalled for a while, then picked back up as I dropped the light hours. As it picked back up it started with the foxtailing and bud on a bud growth. I will also point out that this plant was never fertilized other than the food in the roots organic, and a feeding or two of Mendocino Honey. I am very excited to try it.
How long did you have her on 14/10 for? I’m pretty sure you’re following my thread where those plants I left on 14/10 for like a month stayed all short. I’m wondering if there’s something to this haha.
I started them from seed on 14/10 on 4/17, went to 13/11 on 7/17, 12/12 on 7/24, 11/13 on 7/31.
I think in this case it might just be because I whooped on it lol. But the other plants had the same light cycle, and they’re all quite a bit taller. Still not “tall” by any means thought, I’ll measure them when the lights come on.
Tallest plants are the PCB X NWHP at 29”, one of the PCB X A5HT is around that, the other PCB X A5HT and Chocolate Blitz’s are both around 24”. The other PS is only like 12 or 13”, but was topped several times and had I not flopped it would be around 24”. The PS I chopped yesterday was around 12” (I think, didn’t measure before the chop)and had never had any training done. I guess you could consider root restriction to be training if you really wanted to stretch it haha.
Ah, okay, yeah, those little plants in my thread aren’t even close to 24 inches. If I had to guess, I’d say the tallest is maybe 16 inches. Still not sure if I’m gonna try out intentionally vegging on 14/10 for a month next grow. I probably won’t haha.

The PS started flowering under the t8 leds, which was 90watt total, worked out to around 11 watts per sq ft. Under the sils at first I was using 80watts, around 20 watt sq ft. I did end up putting in a few of the 15 watts in the past few weeks, but I had them pointed away from the PS so I’m not gonna count those. If I did count them in it would be around 25 watts per sq ft. I try not to be too proud of myself, as that seems to happen right before things go ass over teakettle, but yeah, I’m happy with the outcome under these silly ass dollar store lights haha.
That plant is a cutting from one of the PCB X NWHP plants. Once the other PS finishes that will get the sil area to itself and I’ll hang the light in an angle that matches the lean of the plant. Was planning to go nuts and put all 15 watts in, but the stretch is slowing down and the 15 watts are definitely stressing it, so might change back to the mixed temp 8watts.
It seems like the big PS heard me say a couple more weeks and is trying to die extra fast to prove me wrong. In the past day or so it has lost its “luster”, basically looks like it is really fucking dying. I don’t mind letting plants get ratty looking, but this doesn’t look right. If she’s still super drab looking after work she’s gonna come out real soon.
