Basement hempy with sils, lots of beans, “breakfast weed”

Chopped her yesterday. Stems suddenly waaaay floppier, flowers look losing their “pop”, and giving up fan leaves now. Up until the past couple days this plant held onto its fan leaves until they were totally dead, other wise they were firmly attached. Like notably so, it stands out in my mind in comparison to any other weed plant I’ve grown for how strongly the leaves were attached. All of a sudden you could basically run your hand over it and get leaves to drop. Decided to pull it before it started to rot.
I wanted it to go longer, but she just don’t wanna. And if the plant don’t wanna, in my experience, it won’t haha. I’m fine with neglecting my plants, but not forcing them.
And it was pretty good herb when I snapped that branch a few weeks ago, I doubt it’s gotten worse haha.
No cat smell anymore. Still sawdusty, but now has a really strong fruit smell. Idk which fruit, smells “red” if that makes any sense haha.
Same timeline as the other PS a few posts up.

The PCB X NWHP cutting has the sils all herself now. Ditched the 15watts for the moment, now running x6 5k, x4 2700k. If I blasted her with 150 watts like this I think she might turn to dust. Like a vampire being thrown out into the sun haha.

Dude, that last pic is bad-ass! Haha. I actually even said to my girl,”I really love growing and seeing other grower’s ingenuity,” and showed her the pic. She doesn’t give a shit about growing and actually asked,”What am I looking at here? The way the light’s hung?” haha.

So that PCB x WHP is growing like that because of the way you’ve hung the light? I didn’t notice any kind of ties or anything.

I wish I could say that I planned it this way haha. But really it’s getting its tilt on because when I transplanted it it had like, 1 root lol. At first it was trying to just lay down but I gave it a tiny bit of support, and it just kind of balanced out at a 45* angle. I have tied straight plants over and hung the light in a similar way before, so when it became obvious it wanted to be tilted I just said “ok, I’ll work with you here” and decided to match the angle with the light.

PCB X NWHP cutting yellowing out. Feeding to little? Lights too much? Idk. Moved the lights up because that’s the thing I’ve changed recently. Seemed like the obvious first choice.

We’re half sisters.

Nanners on one of the PCB X NWHP. Pretty widespread. And obviously nowhere near done. And, naturally, right in front of the fan. Gonna have to chop her down methinks. That’s the nature of running crosses like this, so that softens the blow a bit. Still sucks though.

First visible nanner on the faster Chocolate Blitz, and I’ve been looking. I figured they were buried in there what with this one being the only plant getting seeded. Gonna pluck it and keep an eagle eye on it.

Ahh, that sucks, man. I was worried about that with those WHP crosses. That’s the main reason I didn’t plant the Black Lime Reserve cross last run, actually. Kinda wanted to see some other people growing those crosses out first haha.

How many PCB x WHP does that leave you with now? Just one, right?

I have two, righty, and the cutting under the sils. Prolly a good idea now to go back and figure out which plant it is a cutting of haha.
Yeah, I knew it was a roll of the dice. I’m still gonna try em again, and the pure haze x NWHP too. Maybe not at the same time haha.

There was someone over on the Doc D thread who talked about dropping a couple NWHP crosses, and finding tons of herm plants. I’ll pick through later and try to find the post.

Yeah, it’s not surprising. It won’t keep me from planting the BLR cross at some point, but that was the only WHP cross I bought, just because I was fairly certain that they’d be herm-prone. I really only bought that BLR cross because it was access to meangene’s gear for thirty bucks a pack instead of the $300 that he charges for his gear haha.

Yeah, that’s crazy money. If I’m getting seed for $300, it’s going to be because I picked them out of a big fucking bag of weed haha.

But yeah, I viewed it as a roll of the dice with best possible outcome being something crazy and wild and different. I definitely got the wild part haha. Still holding out hope the for the other one to stay female though, fingers crossed.

I try not to waste wishes, but looking back I wish I would have grabbed a pack of the Santa Cruz pure haze x A5HT too. Such is life, and even without those I’m going to struggle to decide which beans to drop next haha.

Just gotta dump these off the phone, will come back to narrate later haha
EDIT: now with words haha :+1:
This is the earlier maturing Purple Satellite. Smells soft fruity, melon, generic “red” fruit.
Very mellow smoke, only burned it a few times so I’m not going to rattle on about it just yet.

Moved this here because I keep breaking the post above this when I edit it.

This is the later maturing Purple Satellite, the one I had broken the branch a while back.
Any sort of pissy or dank smell is gone, at least to me. The primary smell I get is strong black licorice, maybe a bit woody in the back. I asked my wife her opinion, she took a smell, looked at me and said “This is the first time you’ve had me smell something… that’s fucking disgusting… what the fuck kind of licorice are you eating… I’m actually upset by how that smells” I got a chuckle out of it haha. She won’t describe the smell further, just “disgusting”
I’ve smoked a couple joints of this, buncha packs of the Dyna vap. This is fucking awesome smoke. Really increases my enjoyment of music. Now, I like music, don’t get me wrong, but it takes a lot of effort for me to listen to music. My hearing is kinda shit, and I need to really focus to have music not just be background noise. This stuff focuses me like nothing else I have experienced. Sat down, listened to a whole album, entranced the whole time. Could hear every instrument, clearly and separately, normally everything blends together for me. Lights were pulsing with the music, light generally was more contrasty, watching the birds and such outside was mesmerizing. But very clear headed. Maybe 40 mins in a bit of increased heart rate, racing thoughts, could have given over to paranoia if you let it. After about an hour and a half, two hours, is set you back down, feeling refreshed and ready to do whatever you gotta do. No afterstone drag. Really, really awesome smoke, look forward to growing it again and doing a better job haha. Kudos to both these plants for taking the kicking I gave them and coming out strong with this awesome herb.

Awesome review! I’ve gotta get some purple satellite in my garden with that review!

I feel it is worth mentioning, if by chance you missed it, that one of them(the sorter flowering plant) did start producing male flowers in the last few weeks of flower. “Luckily” I didn’t make any seeds this round (not intentionally anyway, the longer flowering plant had a handful of seeds), but if I had it would have thrown a pretty significant wrench into the works.

I did beat the crap out of these plants, under potted, underfed, under watered, so maybe in a better environment they would have been more stable. My room is not the definition of “light tight” either. It really was the stress olympics for plant.

But yeah, nice weed for sure.

The Chocolate Blitz are really getting stinky. The “faster” one smells oily and sour, like really sour, almost vinegary. The other still smells greasy and like cooked protein.
Together, they really smell like a burger with pickles on it.
The PCB X A5HT both smell beautiful, very berry heavy smell.

60 days since 12/12, then 11/13 a week or so after.

Looking good. That PCB x WHP looks like she’s gonna take a little longer than the PCB x A5T, huh? Interesting…

I trimmed my PCB/A5T yesterday and the day before yesterday (I got lazy haha, took me two days). Chopped on day 85 because of the thrips, thought 95 days or so woulda been ideal, but after trimming her, I think around 110 days woulda been better. The buds were for sure a little airy. Probably didn’t help that the temps in the drying area were so high, either, but yeah, I think that 110 days or so woulda been the sweet spot. Oh well… haha.

Yeah, the NWHP cross looks like it is going to go foreveeeeer haha. I forget where, but I feel like I read the NWHP in its uncrossed form could go to 18 weeks, and when I asked DocD about the PCB he said it was a long flowering plant, ( he hoped the A5HT was going to pull the flowering time down in that cross!) so I expect these plants to go loooong. I’m guessing we’re around halfway there.

And yeah, defo have a month or better left in the PCB X A5HT as well, especially the “spikier” one. I could see the more developed one being done in another month, but since the room is gonna be tied up until the NWHP cross is done I’m not gonna rush it.

Edit: also, fuck thrips haha.
And I’ve harvested and trimmed (was wet trimming at the time) plants over the course of a like a week before when I was crunched for time. Turned off the tent lights, and left the plant on the stem in there, every day trimming what I could and hanging it in the same tent. Probably a gamble with rot, but I got away with it…

Chocolate blitzs prolly coming down this weekend, at least the faster of the two. I have a bud from each in the toaster now like a classy guy, the test smoke will be the determining factor. Remember that bud on the faster one that had the nanner a minute back? Well instead of plucking the nanner, I just took the bud. It got me nicely fried, so unless I’m going backwards here, I expect to be satisfied enough to pull them. Maybe I’ll give the slower one a week. Idk. I won’t really know till I’m down there with the clippers in hand lol.

Not pot related but my grandmothers hosta grew back, and is actually flowering! It got eaten down to a nub by slugs this spring, thought I lost it! She’s gone and so is the house, so this is huge for me.

Chopped the faster Chocolate Blitz today, right about 9 weeks. Other one gets at least a week more life.
