Basement hempy with sils, lots of beans, “breakfast weed”

PCB X A5HT #2

PCB X NWHP
Could have gone longer, but 200 watts for 1 almost done plant is too much.

The cutting in the Folgers hempy is still going, gonna give one more week then she’s done.

Wow, man, that PCB x A5T looks really good! Interesting that yours didn’t foxtail like mine did; gotta believe it was because the temps were so high in my tent. Anyway, yeah, that plant looks awesome, much better than the WHP cross (no offense haha).

I still haven’t blazed any of the one I grew, but I need to get into it at some point here pretty soon. I’ll be interested to hear what you think of yours.

Yeah, the NWHP looks like I grew it with a hammer haha. That’s ok, can’t win em all. Drowning and starving are both bad for plants lol. Not just gonna show the pretty ones. I am excited to grow these again, maybe try doing a good job haha. I think if I actually trimmed it would look better too, but I try to only pull big fans when they’re wet. I’ll crumble the other leaves off before I jar it.

But yeah, this PCB X A5HT I’m really excited for. It’s a lot closer to what I expected growth wise from these. Not that the earlier one isn’t exciting, but I did not expect the buds to be so rounded and puffy. I don’t think I’ve ever had a plant with buds like that. But yeah, the plant I pulled today was the star of this past grow in my eyes. Treated the same as all the others and just grew problem free.

I wouldn’t be surprised if light intensity played a part in the foxtailing as well as the heat. My space is pretty much open, and I only have 200 watts of led like 2feet above them.

Never mind that waiting till next week thing. The sooner these are dry and jarred the sooner I can make some dust in the basement and get setup for the next run. I am gonna start the next set of beans soon, I can make as much dust as I want in veg.

I might actually do a reasonable thing and not start as many plants as I can when using a new grow style. I mean, I wanna drop a bunch of new stuff I’ve been really wanting to grow, but might play it safe with a smaller qty of some beans I’ve grown before and know can take some mistakes haha.

PCB X NWHP cutting run in the Folgers hempy. Still have yet to figure out which plant it came from. Smells similar to, but not exactly the same as the one I harvested yesterday. But it didn’t herm like crazy, so I’m leaning towards it being from that plant. Both are wood and oil upfront, but the cutting has some serious fruit smell buried in there that the other plant doesn’t.

Well, idk if my email worked or it was just good timing, but Greenleaf updated their offerings to have a 1.3kg bag of Megacrop for a bit under $20, so I grabbed one, hopefully they actually have it haha. No offer of a free sample but I really don’t mind paying. Just didn’t want to buy a bunch for my first go around with it.

Gonna drop some beans tonight. Some Bad Dawg freebies, Long Bottom Fighter, which is Star fighter f2 x Longbottom leaf, and Hillbilly Fighter which is Tennessee Kush x Long Bottom Fighter. I grew both of these before when I was first doing hempys, boy did they suffer, but they didn’t herm and still gave me some nice weed at the end.

Oh, sweet, I have that Long Bottom Fighter cross from GLG, too, got them as freebies. I don’t usually get stoked about freebies, but that one piqued my interest for sure. My old “online grow mentor” LOVED the straight Long Bottom Leaf from Loran, she said it was one of her all-time favs. Foreveryoung planted like twelve seeds of it a while ago, but he hasn’t updated his log in weeks, I dunno what’s going on there haha.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing you grow that out, for sure.

Yeah, when I started buying seeds from GLG a couple years ago a lot of the freebies were Long Bottom Leaf crosses. I assumed it was a clone only, so I was really excited to watch Foreveryoung grow from seeds, but yeah, that was right about when he stopped updating. Hopefully he shows back up with a big photo dump haha.
I’ve grown both of these before, and the Hillbilly Fighter stands out in my mind as being the slipperiest weed I can remember touching. Like, super, silly slippery little buds. Covered in resin but practically no stickiness, just slip. After a month or so in jars the resin started getting a little sandy, but at first it was like you dipped it in oil.

Dropped x4 Hillbilly Fighter and x2 Long Bottom Fighter in solos with Greentree seed starting blend mixed with perlite. Heat mat set to 78*, lights on for 16 hours.

Edit: got the strain names wrong haha. Early updates lead to edits.

Well, in classic dumbass form, I did not notice that they have a coupon code making the 1.3kg bag free, just pay shipping.
So yes, that’s right, this asshole right here just paid for a free sample.

Can you do a return and “buy” them again?

Idk, I already emailed them to see what they can do for me. If I’m stuck with it it’s whatever, I’ll call it an idiot tax and move on haha.

Not sure if it’s covered in the coupon or what, since I didn’t actually pay and it never actually gave me a price for shipping but did tell me it would be a flat rate; either they’ve changed the definition of “free” to actually mean half off, or they’re being very liberal with what they charge for shipping. There’s no way it costs them $10 to ship a small bag of this stuff. Out of curiosity, was your total just the $19.61 they list it as plus tax, or did they tack on an extra shipping charge too?

Nope, just the 19.61. So it works out to a half off coupon.
I will say that postage is nuts now. I sent a priority flat rate envelope the other day and I cost $9 and change.

Hay, you’ll get a 5% off your next order coupon too!

Did you use USPS? I always use pirateship and it’s been like $3.86 for priority mail, like when I send seeds and stuff, for the last few years.

Yeah even the USPS small boxes are almost $10 if you go to the post office. They’ve jacked their rates lately. I logged in Pirateship, and it is giving me a price of 8.10 to send a small box back to NC… damn inflation :upside_down_face:

That’s for the boxes, though. A flat-rate envelope, like a greeting card or whatever, is less than four bucks. Those work fine for sending seeds, as long as you put them in a little bubble wrap.

And it’s not inflation; it’s fucking corporate profiteering. They’re all seeing how much they can get away with before we bring out the pitchforks and torches.

Won’t be much longer now…

True, that is for the boxes, which you pretty much have to use for rooted clones. For seeds I like just using the washer/coin flip or the yard sign method and some stamps, cheapest method for sure…

Amen to that… I just noticed they jacked up the rates even more for a ‘Holiday Surcharge’ … I mean I get they probably deliver more packages during this time of year, but I don’t ever remember that being a thing in past years. Nickel and dime you to death!

That holiday surcharge thing started two years ago after DeJoy became Postmaster General. So yeah, it’s relatively new, but not “brand-new” haha. Definitely a total fucking scam, though. If they never had to do it before 2020, why all of a sudden does it have to be done now?

Like I said, they are all, not just the USPS, but every single company, corporation, whatever, seeing how much they can get away with and how much money we’re willing to spend before we all say,”Enough.”

Well Greenleaf is going to going to honor the coupon, refund me the $9. So that’s one victory for me haha.

So whenever I’ve sent an envelope that needs tracking(seed banks haha) I’ve always just thrown them in a cardboard flat rate mailer. I do this because the first time I did that, I asked the post office clerk what was the cheapest way to send an envelope with tracking, they handed me a cardboard mailer. At first it was like $7, and has crept up since then. Honestly never thought to second guess them, just accepted that it was a fucking haha. Both yeah, even I noticed this time. I forget the exact price, but it was definitely better than $9. In fact, the Megacrop got shipped to me in the same size mailer, granted they folded it up like crazy, but still the same size flat rate package, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they are charging the actual price of shipping. Next time I will explore different options haha. Whenever I send seeds I tape/bag up the seeds in a hose washer in a greeting card and slap a stamp on it.

Wtf is a holiday surcharge anyway. Just let it get there a day late and fuck off with the surcharge. You should have the option of putting it in the “slow lane” and not paying extra.

Curious what a pitchfork goes for now a days, bet a lot more than a couple years ago haha. The one I own is stainless too, so I bet they’re really inflated now. We have a scrap company we deal with at work that is dragging their feet on any pickups, like by months sometimes, I think because they are hoping scrap values go down before they pick up the dumpsters.
