BeagleZ' KNF/JADAM Thread

If you ever want to test your soil to re- ammend it’s only 40 bucks through Logan labs. Here’s a thought I think about that we should all think about. I typically really add stuff to my soil to try and boost certain things even though I have everything needed in the soil already. Like molasses to maybe boost the breakdown of nutrients. But… Im thinking every time you introduce something different to the soil. It most likely changes everything. Different bacteria, fungi, and microbes eat different things. Introducing something new may throw everything out of balance. Which maybe is fine. What I’m mainly thinking is that it greatly changes the end result. Whether good or bad. Definitely the terpenes. I’m sure there’s some good secrets to that.

Is there any plant matter that is Not suitable to use to make FPJ, Such as Onions, Lime Peels, Lemon Peels, etc? I am Making some right now, Mostly out of common yard weeds, but If it works well as an addition to my normal synthetic routine, I might just have to make it often, just want to make sure there isnt any plant waste I should avoid at all costs.

You can put pretty much any organic matter in there. I put onions, orange peals, egg shells, seeds/ pits, chicken poop, weeds. I don’t really put meats in there but supposedly it’s fine. I do allot of experimenting on my thread. Link in my bio. I’m also messing with soldier fly larvae composting and lechate. Just getting into it but fun stuff. Your welcome to come check it out. :+1::grin:

Welcome to the thread @Ace71975!

In general you want to avoid using anything poisonous in FPJ prep. Just use common sense. I am not sure what would come thru or not, for example I’m not sure if you’d get a rash from poison ivy FPJ but I’m not going to find out

I think @Kasper0909 is referring to a JLF prep more than a FPJ. In this case there is a lot of activity from different IMO’s in these solutions and they should theoretically process or breakdown any toxins, so you can throw pretty anything in there. But again, common sense is good practice.

Enjoy your journey down the rabbit hole

Awesome, thanks man. I dunno how far im goin down the rabbit hole, I am still a synthetic nutrients guy, I am simply looking for ways to add biological activity to my inert grow medium to increase the the uptake of my synthetic nutrients lol. JLF is out since I will be running this indoors and from everything i have heard JLF stinks to high heaven while being made.

Dont really have any Poisonous plants growing around the yard or flower beds(other than some of the flowers my ex gf has growing are foxglove) Just weeds and grass clippings and thistles and stuff. Plus I do plan to add the remaining plant matter after making FPJ to my Compost bin. The biggest thing I was concerned about was the onions and citrus peels.
