I love in a small New England harbor and only have access to highway tree’s and spots of Pine tree’s, I had bought to start 12 racing pigeons and wanted to learn to breed these birds due to popularity in my area…
I had these Predator Hawks swoop down right through the chicken wire and chip like beavers the wood on the doors to the pigeons chicken coups I purchased at Tractor Supply etc …
Does anyone else have any Predator Hawk Issues or Owls ???
I was always taking pics of the paired bald eagles that flew from BC to WA State and go swoop down with razor sharp claws and catch NO LIES 20 pound Kokanees on the Idaho Border.
I also had a good buddy who was a certified Falconer who trained 2 people yearly, we did upland bird guides on his 2000 acres in WA State… Tons of Fed & BLM Land there…
I don’t see a problem with this thread, interesting topic as well .
We just had Bald Eagle Days this week… groups of people out watching the eagles on the river… lots more than previous years… We have a couple hanging out around the farm as well
We speak and have threads on fishing , pets, and I can’t use my freedom of speech to go into the right category and make a non-offensive non hatred thread.
I would never kill anything that beautiful god made, I am a lover of all animals, I enjoyed them around and had a Biologist come document the birds and after the pigeons were gone they left with a week…
This is my last pigeon he took and left after he took the insides out, that was when he flew to the tree , the bird fell and the camera took that shot… I just copped it to get the better details
here ya go…killing any bird of prey is a big no-no…glad to hear you left him alone! Oooops- sorry about the false-acc…Not surprised he taking pigeons - the bald eagles around here like to do that too…take a break from fish.
Some a-hole friend of my dad’s killed 100+ downy woodpeckers at his house w/ a .22 and I agonized for weeks over narc’ing him out. Couldn’t force myself to do it. Later, I found out the guy had killed himself…problem solved. He had actually put a feeder out & plugged them as they showed up - really twisted dude.
Obviously you don’t know what a pigeon ripped apart by a hawk looks like. Feel free to leave the thread at any time instead of continuing causing a commotion
You don’t notice the hawk is 5 times wider and larger than that pigeon, that pigeon has no feathers on it’s chest that look like a hawk, 2nd it’s much smaller…
you must be a shallow person to have a copy of your quote displayed and have to show your true side by being a rude member with your status here your comment was with a laughing remark,
Sorry for the people who can’t tell the difference between a 30 pound Hawk to a 2 pound carrier Pigeon…
no, we can’t tell, we’re high! My friends w/ a Silky Terrier moved next to the Merrimac River and were told by their vet - have a completely enclosed chicken-wire run for him or he can’t go outside off-leash. Bald eagles will have him in no time otherwise.
