It had to be the seedling starter soil I used.I won’t be using it anymore. I didn’t realize it had absolutely zero nuts in it which would explain why it started to eat it’s own leaves.
It def ate the 2 smallest leaves as well as the 2 you can see in the pic but the rest up top look good an seems to still be growing. I do have a question about the seedling starter mix from fox farms. Is this made to be mixed with like fox farms of or hf? Because I have both. Hate to have to throw stuff away lmao
I don’t use fox farms or any pre made bag soil, so I don’t know for sure, but if it’s a seedling soil then, you should be either feeding after a week or so or transplanting into a soil with more nutrients.
I would not throw it away, just add a bit of soil that has some nutrients in, if you want to leave it longer before re potting.
After I burn up this soil I will not being using fox farms anymore either. These bags had all kinds of fucking bugs in them. I think I’m going to switch to coco coir but want to do a lil more research. Shit I might even switch to hydroponics an stop messing with dirt in general
Looks like I caught the issue an fixed it just in time it needed nutrients pretty bad. Lesson learned lol
Yeah looking a lot better and looks like it doubled its size
Everyday I check on it it shoots another inch or or so it’s crazy. Lol I did notice a lil nutrition burn on the tips but nothing major. As well as the lower leaves had yellow specks as if it was ready to start eating them but with your guys help I was able to catch it in time.
Generally it is not good to trim aotos.
Unless they are going Brown and crunchy leave them on. The only leaves I might remove would be the very bottom fan leaves for better air circulation, if they look like they are developing PM, but take 1 off every couple of days so the stress is minimal.
I do have a question again I’ve noticed some of the branch’s are purple but others are green should I be adding a cal/mag to every watering? Also the beach’s that have that purple color are the original leaves from the old soil I was using before switching it over into ffof soil
I am a first time grower in coco, so I can’t really answer your question in soil. But I do want to say great job for sticking with it!!
Purple stems can indicate a P deficiency, but its hard to be sure as there are so many purple strains that cause the same thing. The plant looks good, so I dont think cal mag is needed every watering, how often are you giving them cal/mag?
Usually every other feeding like I do with all the nutrients. I’ve just been keeping the amount to about 2 or 3 tiny droplets per 16 oz bottle of water.then adjusting ph to roughly 7 flat
You should be aiming for between 6 and 6.5 as closer to six as possible really.
