Bodhi Plant and seed guide (Part 2)

Ah ok… Only have the one lense and the last picture I posted in here of Sunshine 4 F2 was taken with the same camera and lense combo but indeed some of the pictures are larger than 10 MB… depending on the composition I guess. Dang.

Ahh so it’s an “inside” cut so to speak? I thought there was a drop I missed at some point but that would make a lot more sense. Does he normally do that with cuts he likes a lot?

I don’t pretend to know if Bodhi has any criteria for sharing cuts, though I do know that both Doc D and Strayfox have used many of Bodhi’s cuts in their work over the years. They have both used plants they found in Bodhi packs, too. Both Strayfox and Doc D have also accompanied Bodhi on at least one seed seeking trip. I can’t recall if I’ve seen anyone work with the Bodhi’s Ethiopian Banana outside of that trio.

Pretty sure Bodhi has held the Ethiopian Banana for a while, because there are grow reports on Breedbay of crosses using the Ethiopian Banana from at least 2016.

That said, it looks like Kiona THC has an Ethiopian Banana cut too. Not sure if it’s the same as Bodhi’s, but it sounds similar in terms of high CBD with a definite banana aroma.

Crickets and Cicadas has also been using an Ethiopian Banana cut

Yup, you’re right about everything including Kiona, who got the cut from Bodhi as well according to a post on their IG. Did a little research since my last post. Thanks for the info! I got some Sashamane seeds with hopes that I too could find the Ethiopian banana pheno but it’s mostly lemon, spice, and musk. Not complaining of course but I guess the hunt continues

How about his Ethiopian paintbrush cut? On his potcast interview he said that the banana cut and the paintbrush cut came from the same seed line (90% sure that’s accurate) but I can’t recall at the moment ever seeing any crosses with the paintbrush cut

I swear I read either here or on Breedbay that Bodhi actually has 3 distinct cuts of that Ethiopian…banana, paintbrush, and one other. Possibly from @nube or @zephyr? Or maybe I’m making up the 3rd cut as a mistaken memory.

The Ethiopian Paintbrush was used in at least one released cross…God’s Paintbrush was the Ethiopian Paintbrush x OMG, which was a really limited release a couple years ago.

He said on The Potcast that the third was called the Ethiopian Spider.

that’s right. I tested the ethiopian banana x omg.

really amazing plants, but 3 out of 5 females weren’t completely stable.
regardless, it was some of the best bud I have ever smoked.

you can find my tester report and bud photos in part 1 of the bodhi thread here on overgrow.
I actually just started the final 3 seeds from that tester pack.

I had forgotten that. That’s funny because I actually called one of the ethiopian banana x omg phenotypes “spider-plant.” it was a vine phenotype which grew primarily in lateral shoots, with very little apically dominant vertical growth.

Four Sunshine Daydream slowly chugging along, the cold temperatures really slowed them down as far as flowering time goes. It’s just starting to get into the 70’s in the grow room and a heat wave is expected into the 80’s so they should start to zoom along and hopefully finish in the next couple weeks.

Two females with a lone male in the back, crazy to see how the cold made one of the phenos purple/darken up so much more than the other. The dark one is more funky smelling while the green one is more sweet.

Nice. Did the male finally start dropping pollen?

Yep, it’s starting to blow around a bit. Kind of crazy that I didn’t notice the male(s) opening their flowers sooner and the females seemed to be further along in their flowering process compared to the males throughout the grow. Although the males could have been dropping pollen before I even realized it earlier on, they were just good at cleaning up after themselves ? With the wind and all, it wouldn’t surprise me but who knows? Hopefully the females will be fully seeded or at least fully pollinated within the next week.

Yeah, I’m over the wind. But I will absolutely take the 85 degree weather we’re getting this week haha.

how is everyone growing SSDD, a lot of people have old beans in their fridges? I need to start seed hoarding haha

Haha, I did some research for you to see when I bought those beans and I ordered them from JBC in July of 2019. I knew it was a Bodhi flagship strain and that it wasn’t going to be available much longer due to the male being lost so I had to get a pack. It didn’t hurt that it was a BOGO as well and got a pack of Sundance to go with it.
