Bodhi Plant and seed guide (Part 2)

GLG is my go to. Always receive the newest restocks , the deals are out of this world and the freebies, well the freebies are epic and usually just as good as the purchased stock Good luck with the hunt, you should be able to acquire a veritable crapload as there’s tons available. The older gems, not so much but F2’s can be found. Over the years I’ve amassed a decent collection and will be f2ing all of my gems as well as making all the crosses we are working on atm @Great_lakes_Genetics tell Drag Boat Jeff I sent ya, he’ll hook you up.

If you can find a way into Headie Gardens Discord, Shoe has a big fundraiser going on with quite a few rare and deadlines of Bodhi’s gear. All F1 packs, all original. All for a good cause.

I’m getting Black Lotus in the mail Thursday :green_heart:

Must find this Discord server!

EDIT: Got it! Thanks!

Thanks @TopShelfTrees1 , I appreciate the info. With 171 strains listed on seed finder I figured I would start delving into the specifics as there is much to absorb. I have drunken parrot, mango hashplant, Acapulco gold, mango lotus, peach hashplant, lemon wookie and wookie orgasm all recently sent to me. I also have some others in my stash. Just like to get what data I can on current vs older strains so I can be respectful of the breeder

Heh, seed finder doesn’t even have them all either :joy: he’s likely made double that number.

No website, nothing for bodhi. Occasional Instagram and breedbay post and that’s about it. Between breedbay, seed finder, and Jbcseeds, should be able to find 99% of his releases.

Lol yeah there’s a ton of Bodhi strains. I’m still trying to locate some info on the D9 Thai mom from the LE release of d9 thai x DLA5.

It’s more the in production vs put of production I am interested in. The man himself has said he wants people to f2 his older lines to keep them alive. I guess just digging into each one that I would be considering is the way to go.

I would consider looking at all the males he mainly uses and try to gauge from there.

Typically for the Bodhiseeds releases, he uses a proven male, like Snow Lotus, and crosses it to a bunch of proven clone-only plants. Like Goji OG, for example, Nepali OG x Snow Lotus.

So if you’re trying to get an idea of what kind of plants you may get from those packs, it’d be good to research the traits of the mom’s and dad’s separately, and maybe try to guess from there what influence his chosen male would present.

Also, I’d recommend giving the bodhi episodes on the Potcast a listen, there’s good info there about his releases. :+1:

Happy hunting through those seeds!

Just off the the top of my head I know the mango lotus will not be remade as the father is lost. The acapulco was a nierika preservation so it’s kosher to repro as well. The 88g13Hashplant crosses (mango HP, peach HP) are still being released often so I’d probably shy away from those first.

edit** The drunken parrot is also not going to be re-released as that uses the same dad as the mango L

grew some outdoors, they are very sensitive plants. Ended up with 3 plants from the pack, wildlife enjoyed the rest lol. They grew in a partly shaded area that could get pretty humid depending on the weather. I had 1 female who was pretty solid, great structure and sweet/dank smelling. There was one male who super funky/nasty but he eventually ended up throwing pistils . Both males actually threw pistils. Ended up with seeds, maybe ill try it again one day .

Yeah, I have a few going.i chose these for testing when he was testing…I got a few 4…females with 3 sounding like that male your talking about…they were foul. One took on the g13hp side…as in typical affie type plant…IMG_20220105_105033_673 IMG_20220105_105037_981

@nube would be the one that has a pretty good handle on a lot of that.

From what I got from B, when I was doing some testing, was anything I wanted to cross, and keep to myself, was fine.

He did not want folks passing around tester stuff.

Making F’2’s is great, but he’d rather folks not pass out F2’s of things he’s still offering.

I hope that’s close

In 25+ years of breeding, I’m guessing @bodhi has released literally thousands of strains in retail, freebies, fundraisers, and as limited edition. He has a library of several hundred “elites” and hits many of them with his males, only releasing the resulting seeds that get tested and come back with at least one positive outcome. There’s no single spot that contains all of the info on his strains, but breedbay is probably the best option.

At this point, out of your stock, the hashplants and the wookies are all still being sold, as are a number of the older lines with discontinued dads. As such, it’s best practice to ask in here before reproducing them for coop seed runs distribution.

If all you’re looking for is data on older strains, check breedbay. That’s bodhi’s first love and still contains all of the info and pics on his first 20 years of breeding. As with all forums, the search tool is your friend and may require multiple heuristics to get right.

Best of luck!

@Tonygreen just auctioned off a grip of real old stock, plus every month someone sells off their old collections, no shortage of REALLY OLD gear on here and RIU as well as a few others.

Thanks for the info.

It’s this above quote that got me thinking. Identifying these lines is why I started looking and the rabbit hole is deep. I have no problem doing my research, was just hoping for a better way to do it is all. With such a large breeder and so many strains it can be difficult finding specifics sometimes. No matter, I will dig into strains one by one as I go and am in no rush as I am booked with runs for the next year or so. I got lots of time before I get around to this but it’s never to early to start acquiring knowledge about a thing
