Bubba Kush cuts …

That cut is really just a beautiful selection. She’s vigorous for sure. Big fat stems, bushes out perfectly with multiple tops with zero training, and just stacks. Then you get to the smells, looks of the flowers, taste, and high  fairly impressed with that cut.

growing this barney’s farm bubba kush outside. it’s pretty close to finish. first time growing. never smoked before. it’s on abuela’s top 15 list.

i topped, LST’ed and supercropped this early in veg and continued topping til the end of july. i kind of expected more of it in veg. not sure it liked the supercropping much. regardless, it’s main colas are nice and fat. smells ok. not really that strong IMO in comparison to others in the garden. considering i have no base of reference by never growing it OR smoking it, i will shut the f*ck up now.
i am excited to try it and DO hope its a good fit for abuela. backup for afternoon or evening? not sure. either is fine, both would be even better.

most of it’s main colas are nice fat branch long donkey-dick colas. will do the beer can reference when i harvest.

Nice looking Bubba Kush… :sunglasses: :metal:

She’s looking damn good, so you’re doing awesome!

I topped my first grow a few times during stretch and learned not to do that. So now after flip I use bending, twisting and tying down to keep the canopy level. I’m getting better at it every grow!

thank you. appreciate the feedback.
looking forward to testing it out.

thank you. appreciate that.

what was the topping doing that made you change your mind?
do you train to keep things discreet or are you trying to increase harvest? (both?)

When I was new to growing I was topping and training during stretch and hurt my yield. Especially the topping - some strains don’t branch a lot during stretch. Now I top and train during veg, and just adjust during stretch. I get a better yield that way.

I train for a level canopy (to increase harvest). Discretion doesn’t matter in this state. Indoors is legal, and it’s so arid, growing outdoors would be a lot of work.

Definitely! That’s where you get a million little spindley buds as opposed to a bunch of colas and choice nugs. (Ask me how I know ) I actually recently way ovevegged and opted to just clone and restart rather than mess with it and end up with subpar product.

hmmm… not sure if i’m still topping during stretch or not.

my “concept” was to top and have only 6-8 branches. the last 2 yrs doing that kept plants discreet, but usually gave me 6-8 branch long donkey-dick colas.

this year i used bigger pots and got a little concerned when most of the garden kept getting taller despite the topping and training. i have gone from 2gal to 4gal to now 7gal pots. i think i’m good with the 7’s… plenty big enough. (and keeping my illegal state paranoia in check).
(plus i can still run with 7gal pots when the helicopters come… lol)

i would like to one day just let one plant do it’s thing. not top, not LST not supercrop and just see what it does. going to be difficult to me to keep my hands off as i have done the discreet thing for so long.

If it works for you…. I just found it was nuts for those plants, may work in others, don’t let me deter you, maybe try both , leave one, top the rest etc. I’d hate to see you stray from what works for you man. For real

lol… i don’t know if it works. always trying to improve. i’m open to suggestions as i have had zero people to discuss this with since i started.
was just trying to explain my thought process. if there is better logic i’m always willing to listen. pictures help too. visual references are great.

i have one seed of barney’s farm bubba left. i have a feeling i’m going to like it, but will see if it works for abuela. that will really determine how fast it gets back on the “re-grow this” list.
on a good note, bubba kush is supposed to be good for alz/dem AND parkinsons. so have high hopes for this one.

I don’t know if I’ve ever just let them do their thing. Part of the fun is directing the life of this plant.

If you just have one seed, are you considering taking cuttings? If it’s the perfect plant you can keep growing it…

Amen to that

yessir.

was asking @GrouchyOldMan about colloidal silver earlier. i have some, but it’s really high concentrate. i gotta dig it up. it’s in a box with a bunch of other stuff i need to sort (new desk).

was thinking to use it to try and reverse some cuttings and create my own seed. never done it before, but this whole mission has been about firsts. i’ve come this far… got my clonezone set up and my garage flower zone to try some reversals.

green light go!

not trying to be that guy lol but that looks nothing like Bubba Kush. doesn’t look like Barney’s Farm is working with the real cut(s).

Yeah I was pretty sure Barney’s Farm has been fake or ripped off cuts since inception
Same with CaliConnection…

So many of those EU banks sell white labeled seeds produced in bulk in Spain. It’s probably like a Critical Mass hybrid lol.

If you want American genetics BUY AMERICAN!
