Despite having to speed dry it in a 86°f 35% RH room which took merely 4 days to be smokably dry, it’s TASTY! The exhale is that perfect Kush vibe, dunno about you guys but THAT’S where I can truly taste a Kush is on that exhale. Sometimes Kush varieties can smell dank, sweet, citrusy or even a lot like Chem, that exhale taste is unmistakable and it comes thru heavy even on this sample
I get what you mean about the exhale @RookieBuds . Good to hear you’re getting the OG Kush taste from those! Looking forward to hearing how it smokes after its finished proper.
Just really fantastic work and fantastic buds and bud shots.
Any tips on the plant growth? I know kushes typically like hard drybacks, except loompas, and extra cal. I also know they appreciate a steady level of nutrients, not too much or not enough.
My best pieces of advice; flip Glitter Trike earlier than you might normally flip a plant, don’t veg it for too long or it may get uncontrollable thru and after stretch. Also give yourself PLENTY of vertical room ---- although you may get a squat pheno and not need it, IMO i think more Glitter Trikes will be tall rather than short. The reason I think that, my tall and short plants are nearly identical as far as their general leaf structure, bud structure and even terp profile to a degree, it’s just one is literally half as tall Trellis or cage required, the branches will flop even the short phenos.
My opinion, the short phenos are ± 60 days and the tall phenos are ± 70 days.
Thanks for the kind words @leetdood honestly man this grow is Redemption, because the last few plants I harvested were fully seeded (on purpose but not easily smokable) or mildly overfed and lacking quality. These, though, are VERY MUCH on-par with the quality of herb I prefer to grow and have
Well ALRIGHT ALRIGHT ALRIGHT!!! . Just got done trimming both Glitter Trikes, got 3.2oz off the small plant and a solid 6.1 oz off the tall plant
Bud structure overall was very nice, I’d say the flowers were “medium-hi” density, all top flowers were very solid but some of the middle & lower buds suffered from some “airyness”. Both plants were still quite similar in their overall appearance, bud density and aromas, except the tall one has this really neat borax soap/floral vibe to it. But both are textbook Kush in the “lemon furniture polish” sense.
I’ll try to get better flower pics of each plant soon I’m pooped from trimming and cleaning up my mess
@Budderton man I really can’t thank you enough for all these fabulous genetics you’ve thrown my way if I didn’t have my own seeds to test, I’d just keep growing your gear
To anyone out there holding Glitter Trikes, if you’re in the market for a nice Kush cross LOOK NO FURTHER . Get to poppin!!
Ok first off, like an idiot i actually mixed both phenos of flower into one big grocery bag . I was washing my mason jars & just got mentally sidetracked. No big deal though. Both plants are quite similar but still, as mentioned before, the taller one has a “soapy” quality that shines when you get one of those nugs, visually they’re impossible to pinpoint but the nose doesn’t lie
FANTASTIC smoke, a wee bit on the choker side but not unpleasantly so, quite the contrary. Sometimes, you gotta cough to get off . There’s not much else to say other than this is a VERY VERY nice iteration of Kush overall, and any Kush lover is sure to love this stuff as a daily driver-----on that note, it’s potent for day smoke but still manageable. I don’t need to set my alarm for a nappy-poo, i can still get things done.
Nice @RookieBuds ! It sounds like they turned out like OG kush plants, that’s positive! I’m hunting them now and you’ve got me looking forward to some of the H.E.H.(High End Hack) with your descriptions! Thanks for testing them out for everyone and enjoy the fruits of your labor!!
Revisiting a statement I made earlier in this thread, about whether the “slight” added cost of using Botanicare was worth it, over the less expensive-by volume (due to concentration) General Hydroponics. …??
Short answer: Yes.
Slightly longer answer: I genuniely find the Botanicare products a little bit easier to use and mix, and it almost works out to be “pH perfect” for me, I don’t have to adjust my mixes, they always land on target! It’s kinda weird, I get a perfect 6.3-6.5 every friggin time. Veg and Bloom.
Quality-wise of final product, ehh I dunno, I guess I’d give the slight edge to Botanicare but this answer is purely anectdotal. While I did enjoy GH products and they are VERY easy to get and afford, I just like the Botanicare line a lil bit more.
