Here’s a couple nieces of @DirtySlowToes big Maze pictured above. Maze x Affie 11 f2 , i call it Labrador.
Shown here at the end of wk 8(approximately)of 11/13
Labrador A
Both are in 3 gallons of medium, getting fed salts and they have a similar smell going, that being uncooked oatmeal, with one being more barley-ish. The smells have changed and I’m sure they’ll change again but it’s definitely not something I’ve had from cookie/chem/og.
This looks great!! Awesosme flower development and the side branching is keeping limited in its stretching. Laborador visually looks like a winner thus far
And this one may look unassuming but it has a rotten, sour smell to it already. Sowahh x mix of Sour D Bx & Sowahh . A Top Dawg/Karma open pollination mash up made by @SWIM_Yenobi
My level of laziness is at an all time high when it comes to clone making. I did some like this last time and had satisfactory results. These are 3 or 4 days under a dome.
Yeah, I built a cloner, but never use it. I just stick a few cuttings in solo cup with some water, and put them under some dim’ish light. I’ll change the water out every few days. If its really dry, Ill dome them, but usually I dont. Normally Ill have roots in 10-14 days. Im finding more and more that the K.I.S.S. method works fine when it come to this.
I am also one of those people that invested in various cloning machines, but settled on same as @Hashpants does - cut in a solo with a dome and wait a couple weeks. This is definitely a KISS thing for me, and I am always seeking new fun ways to make life difficult ! Hi budderton fam, happy weekend.
For me, the best clones are made by embedding a piece of stem that is soft and bends easily… If the plant isn’t absolutely healthy and growing quickly, as when it is yellowing or has distressed leaves, I will wait until it once again has explosive growth to clone that growth; even tiny little offshoots from the bottom of the plant will 100% root in 6-9 days, as long as it was growing quickly. I sometimes even take shorter clones, with just 2-3nodes, so that there is absolutely no woodiness to the section that is embedded in the media… or below the foam holders in an aero cloner.
I know everyone does it differently but if you arent getting 100% every time, we can change that! I dont get the best picture resolution when looking at the pic but, is the stem marked in red woody? The pic makes it appear to have a woody look that makes me want to consider that it might take 19+ days to root. 12-16 for the yellow section and, < 12 days for the green area… Best results might come from a shorter clone where the more tender flesh is given the chance to root
Right on @herojuana.tom . Yeah the ones pictured are woody at the base. Some where smaller, with softer stems and I can compare how they do for fun but I took little care in making them. I’m only looking for 1 or 2 to continue and I’m in no hurry.
When I’m doing production runs of cuts, i do things differently. Differently smaller with green, malleable stems. I taught my adult step daughter how to make cuts and she is a cloning machine that can root a full tray of cuts like nobody’s business!
Awesomenese, I do hope they all root for you, its all just about keeping them alive and, getting them to root before they rot.
Nice that your step-daughter helps to assist with all the maintenance! It’s a lot work, maintaining continuous grows.
