It would be nice if the color of the bud could some how tell us what was inside, but, unfortunately, unless you are buying a known quantity, it is trial by :fire:

Anthocyanins (color pigments) do have medicinal value. A little research and you should have an answer.

It might just be me but there seems to be a way higher purple color in indica/indica dominant hybrid ratio than in sativas/sativa doms

yeah but i think their medicinal value usually comes from eating them, not sure if it’ll come across via combustion… although apparently if you squish it right at harvest while the plants still low(er) PH you can extract the anthocyanins and get purple shatter etc

However, if we allow the flowers/buds to maintain their acidic pH early in the hang-dry process or right at harvest, the anthocyanins stay mobile and soluble and are extracted with the trichomes, essentially “dyeing’ the oil purple as it is forced away from the flower.

No true backing to this but, I’ve always associated purple strains with being relaxing or bedtime strains even before I knew the indica/sativa difference so there’s that lol

where I am from bud are green with tri on them looks like diamons

Well look at that. First search yielded fruit,
