My dog hasn’t broken any of the limbs (yet, lol) but he has been digging holes where I’ve dug for the plants.
@GMan I’m glad I don’t have to deal with bears!!! I do deal with an overpopulation of thier cousin, the raccoon. I don’t use any fish fertilizer on my outdoor plants. It is a lure to them and I’m sure it is to bears. Blood meal and bone meal also attract them. I try to work my fertilizer in 2 weeks before planting. I feed them by using compost, aged manure and castings, teas and I feed Mega Crop at least once every month once they are out in the ground. I will have some digging once i put my plants out but have minimized it by putting my fertilizer on early and staying away from anything that attracts them after I plant. The old trapper in me helps me know what attracts animals, I’ve caught thousands of coon on fish based attractants. Glad you where able to save your plant, that’s a big plus…better then them damn rabbits
I don’t know what that would be. I’ve never had anything that broke the lower limbs. If it’s in you garden, can you see tracks? Maybe post a pick of it’s track and someone could identify it? Then we can figure out how to get rid of it
Nice save, last time that happened to me it was deer. Found 2 of the plants, rootball intact. When I went to grab em though they were completely covered in some big ass slugs.
All of this bear talk and sure enough I saw a big one today, luckily not on my place. He was over at the State Park lake. It’s just over the ridge from me and a mile and a half drive. He came out of a swampy bottom that eventually drains to the lake and crossed into a large meadow. I watched him for about a half hour. Our bears are black bears, but they turn brown here for some reason. This one was brown but also with a strong red tint. never saw one so red. He stuck out like a sore thumb against the green meadow. I’ll ask my neighbor if it’s the same one he said the other neighbors on his end of the road saw around for a couple of days. Sort of surprised to see him out in the middle of the day (11:20am).
I wonder if a squirrel would do that. We have some eager ones here. Red squirrels, ok, and rock squirrels who do more destruction. I harvested a couple of plants this winter and all of the stalk was chewed around each node intersection, I suppose by a mouse. Never saw that before. Never ate a leaf, just gnawed the stalk around nodes and maybe the tender preflower calyxes.
It could be one of our cats out hunting ! or a fox / racoon / skunk we have had them all lately . I have a 6 foot cyclone fence all the way around but all those critters climb .
The BC Pinewarp grew a lot in 8 days. I’ve got one that is not thriving as well as the others and the weeds where shading the 4 that are on the south side pretty bad. I trimmed them back so they will all get full sun. Sorry for the poor quality photos.
I’ve got to go check some of my others. My Sour Blutooth where all over 2 foot a couple weeks ago, I’ll bet they are huge
Those bc pinewarps are gonna get huge!!! They took over my greenhouse. Loved the heat. You should have a good hedge their.
I’ve been told they get big. I am sure I’m going to have to tie them over. I hope they don’t smell to bad. They are only about 40 feet from the road but hidden by a bunch of tall weeds
get hold of some skunk piss, and drop a few drops every now n then…No more worries lol It does work!
when I say skunk piss, I’m talking about the stuff they spray lol maybe it’s call skunk essence, I can’t remember now it’s been so long ago I did outdoor grows
edit…that won’t keep the rabbits from cutting down your plants though
@JohnnyPotseed I’ve never used skunk essence as a repellent but I bet it might work on small game. Back in the 70s we used it as a cover scent deer hunting. We would put it on a rag and drag it then hang it in a tree right by us…lol. I don’t think anyone does that today but I can get it through trapping suppliers. I do have about a half gallon of fox piss froze that I might try spraying around my plants. I had forgotten I had it
Went and checked some plants tonight. Give them all a shot of organic fertilizer and did some topping. Everything is looking great. With 7-8 more weeks until flowering begins some are going to be pretty good producers. Here are 4 of the BOG Bogglegum
A couple of the Bogglegum I missed.
I’m not sure why the difference in phenos. They are f1s and F2s but I am surprised. I’ll just wait and see. Hell I may have got a couple plants mixed up but I thought I put all Bogglegum at this spot
It’s amazing how you can grow this plant in the brush like that
F2 is when the diversity really sticks out compared to the f1 which tend to be similar in most ways. Could it be from the f2 batch? Looking good!
I’m having a helluva time keeping my pictures straight. When I bring them up to download they are not in the order I took them. I’m going to have to post as I take them but reception is terrible. I’ll figure something out. Here are several random, there are Sour Bluetooth, Sour Boggle, Herrer Hashplants and another strain or 2
It could be. I thought that it was a fairly stable strain.
Some absolutely beautiful updates @Bullskinner!! I can feel the strength of those plants just looking at the pics. Some beautiful photos with the sun in the back glaring a bit and peaking out. Makes me feel like I’m right there with you brother.
If you bring a couple scraps of paper with the initials of the strain with you, that you can hold up in the corner of the shoot while you’re taking the pics to help remember which is which it may help.
