Woohoo!!! @Terpsnpurps hit the 900 mark!!!
And you are right, @Jetdro did a nice setup, and was expensive to run.
I had a dedicated dry room, it was a symphony of everything popping on and off. Worked great for a lot of years, wasn’t cheap to run.
Now, hit a button, no noise, no smell, no wondering, stressing, checking. Empty the tray, done.
Running a huge total of 75watts is a bonus on top of it, cheap to run.
I don’t remember failing! The peltier fridge looks a lot nicer though, which is why I’m building Version 3 as we speak and am going to release it as an open-source project for makers and hobby minded folks. Don’t get me wrong, the Cannatrol is sexy and there’s zero shame to be had for buying and using nice kit. Props to all in this thread.
V2 (for big harvests).
Yeah… but does it keep settings no further than a .1 away from setpoint? It seems less stable… I have questions lol…
I’d be curious to see which fails 1st… which would need replacement parts 1st etc… I like what I see though @LD50
Curing cannabis reminds me of the espresso game. “Does your grouphead keep temp within 0.1 degrees celcius for the duration of a shot?”
The V2 is stable because of the large preconditioned air volume in the lower chamber and on demand humidity creation. By finely controlling humidity (reaction time of seconds) with temp as a lag value that can be adjusted cooler by the peltier recirc unit, VPD is controlled as tightly as the PID values I select.
And that said I open the tent all the time, and can resume perfect conditions within seconds of closing the tent.
I’m curious how long to build and how much did it cost? I like it man… good job!
Think I’d need the v2 big harvest model.
Lol I’m still a cannatrol sized grower
Just a quick question for other owners. I recently got my canntrol set up and I’ve been noticing the dew point can be off by .5-1 and is kind of fluctuating within that range (53-55). I also don’t have anything in there so I’m not sure if that’s effecting this. I was just curious if other users had similar experiences; or if other users units stayed pegged at the settings for the most part.

Hey Fish
Try putting some water in the white container with the sponge.
.
How did it work out.
Nice, Lots of Room
Hi all! New forum member and new Cannatrol owner!
Just unboxed and plan on chopping within the next 24-48 hrs.
My plan was to take off big fans today and then likely chop and hang dry for 24 hrs like recommended.
Also planning on using default settings 4/4 unless otherwise advised by the community. Seems like most people start here and then tweak based on environment/results.
FWIW the room it’s in stays between 60-70 degrees and RH swings from 40-60, but also expecting a lot of rain soon.
Anyways wanted to get some pro tips from you all and looking forward to see how it goes!

Welcome to OG @Jman.
Welcome to the OG @Jman and the Cannatrol section.
Don’t worry about the room it’s in, the box will do its job. Run a batch at factory defaults, make sure it’s set on Slope hit start, forget about it, LOL
4/4 has done well for many, some stretch out the cure to 6 days.
Just remember, even you set the dry to 6 days, it doesn’t matter, by the 4th day, buds have reached equilibrium and start curing even though it’s still in the “dry” phase. No need to change that at all. Try some at a 4,6,8 day even a 30 day cure. You’ve got the EASIEST set it and forget it addition to your operation.
You get to play now, LOL
You won’t be disappointed, you’ll gain your life back, don’t have to think or stress over the process, hit start, empty the tray probably 4 times over the 1st 4 days, 8-10 days later, tasty nuggets.
Enjoy!!! Got a question, hit us up, a fellow owner will pop in and try and answer.
Again, Welcome to the OG!!!
just came across this thread, awesome timing with tax refunds coming soon. I’ve only been growing for 2yr and getting the conditions right for drying is by far the hardest thing for me for whatever reason. I’ve grown some good nug so far, that’s not just me that’s everyone who’s smoked it, but I know it could be better taste/smell wise. $1600 is cheap when you consider the good nug over time.
sorry if you’ve covered this but hows it’s electricity use? I was curious if letting friends use it for a sample would be expensive
Welcome @hooddirt
Power usage??? A paltry 75 watts, LOL
Once you have one, you’ll know why you bought one.
I had a dry room set up, served me well for many years, worked good, but, still had to check on it, try to time it just right, check on it again, worry about it, check it again, then jar, burp, check jar, burp some more,
Those days are gone, load it up, hit start, and not think about it. Empty the tray is the only “worry” but only once a day for 4 days, after that coast. Check screen, it’s in Hold Mode, done, bag it, jar it, don’t think about it, done.
It truly doesn’t get any easier.
Welcome to the owners group, and keep us updated when you get your box.
Thanks! Really pleased to join what seems to be a very pleasant community in a sea of vitriol out there lol
Welcome to the OG @ToxicMaskUnity, the Greatest Forum on the inter web, and Welcome to the owners thread.
1st, congrats on getting a Cannatrol.
2nd, trust the process, it does what it says it does, very well.
3rd, understand the process, no matter what you set the dry stage to, it’s done in 4 days. If you think setting it up for a 6 day dry makes a difference, it doesn’t, after the 4th day, it’s in cure whether your panel says dry stage or not, where the difference happens, is in the cure phase, you can draw that out longer, and the longer it cures, the better it gets.
Don’t take your Trol off of the Slope setting, you want to run each and every batch on slope, it will take your starting humidity levels, and slope them down slowly until it hits your set point.
Don’t worry what the screen says when you first put buds in, it will slowly slope it down to your set points over the course of the phase.
These are just a few things that I see new owners have problems with, especially the dry phase and how it’s done in 4 days and curing even if you set it to 6 or 8 days.
Once again, welcome to the OG and the Owners thread.
