We’re going to have to mix this with the folks eating/juicing/blending cannabis – now they can add Cannatrol water for the good good ;), lol.
I’ll humbly admit that I want a 'trol but can’t afford it for the time. Investment is going into lights first. I’m about to start my first dry ever and am more than slightly concerned – but going to do my best!
Time to make it colder in my room than I (or the veg tent) really want for a few weeks. 60F while lights are on, 65F when they’re off. The 'trol would solve this problem (with a few minor issues of its own – namely space). The space problem could easily be solved by my favorite quote from Contact (that I’m applying to my upcoming light purchase):
“Why buy one, when you can buy two for twice the price.”
I remember someone once saying:
“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain,
With a fresh green taste in my mouth.”
Id see how you feel about the defaults… i would extend the cure longer if i were you… you can test bud along the way just grab 1 out and try it until you’re happy… then go a lil more lol @Farmer_Don
What the environment like in the room the cannatrol is in ? Temps/humidity.
Hey everyone… I wanted to share a couple Cannatrols I found for sale at good prices on Offer Up. If you are local to one of these, this could be the greatest price you’ll get one of these. Just thought I’d share somebody might get lucky… Cheers !!!
I totally agree. Be safe do your homework. No guarantees this is safe or accurate listing after all it’s on a social media site. If I was closer, I would do some investigation. Could be worth it or a fake listing. To be honest, I haven’t found any fake listing for the Cannatrol anywhere yet. I don’t know if it gets enough attention outside the weed scene.
As always with these sorts of things, social media purchases be safe… I wouldn’t send my money to anybody cash only deal on pick up lol … Cheers !!!
I’ve settled on a cheap mini refrigerator idea with a temperature controller at 60 degrees, and mason jars with the little hygrometers inside that amazon sells 6 for $10
What would be the best evaporation rate ( or dewpoint ) for curing ? At what value of humidity would you stop at and maintain ? What would be the best # of days to cure ?
66 degrees F and 55 dp is 67.8% humidity for drying. 63 degrees F and 50 dp for curing would be 62.5% humidity, I thought you should get down to 68% to avoid being too moist. And should people use these #'s ? What is the best # of days to cure? You tube happy hydro - VPD made easy might help.
If that’s what you’re going to do, you’re gonna want to go find a thread on the DIY stuff on (T)rollitup. This thread is pretty much specifically for people wanting to buy or have bought a Cannatrol.
My settings are just about that man… extended 10 days dry time… so it takes 10 days to slope to next setpoint… which is more 63 % …
Im not sure what you’re asking me? No 1 setting is going to be perfect for everyone… i am seeing this particular setting do extremely well… 10 day slope from that setpoint… no mildew no mold… curing very nicely
There are some good threads on dyi like tomatoes mentioned here at OG I posted a link somewhere above within 80 posts or so… this is a cannatrol thread where we try to improve on the actual cannatrol, by user experience… and user experimentation
I’ve never cured/dried any other way, but I’m very happy with my Cannitrol.
It’s so simple.
Mine’s in the basement, and I have it set up very similar to jetdro…
Cannatrol Protocol
1 day before harvest - trim all fans and larger leaves while the plant is still in the pot/ground.
Buck buds off stems, TIGHT trim all buds and break any large buds down to CLEAN NUGS and place in Cannatrol.
6 day dry/cure @ 66F
Set all 3 settings (dry, cure, hold) to DP of 53.5
Put sponge in bottom rack on second day
Start checking at day 6, by placing a test nug into ziplock with RH meter for 24h.
When RH is stable at <62 (58-60 is ideal), they’re ready.
When stable at 58-60RH, put into 1/4lb Grove bags in cooler (wine fridge @ 52F) for 2 weeks. Do not store Grove bags in the Cannatrol.
If storing in Cannatrol, use brown paper lunch bags with the top open.
