My curse was acute Volkswagenitis & even Porscheitis. Was cured by a nervous breakdown :unamused: & a Honda. :shopping_cart:

Right now it’s a 01 Malibu begging for a transmission or a grave. Or a complete frankenstein full-race prep BMW-killer.

A friend with a shop told me to keep it & fix it, that anything after 2010 has parts availability problems (Hmm  bailout?!.. ). Which has me considering a well-restored older car. Was astounded what my old VW GTI beaters are worth now…should have kept them all.

I predicted 15+ years ago that the only thing we have that China can’t copycapt is genuine old school American machinery & old Nova’s & whatnot will be worth GOLD to rich Chinese. Compare to the wineries of France.

Had a 71’ Nova base sleepers for sure, Yenko’s were Bad Ass…

Sure were … nice. Recently or are you showing your age.

I was born the same year as the truck😉. But the Nova was a poor mans Chevelle…right motor and they embarrass Chevelle …light and fun with a 350/350

I never cared much for the larger cars. chevelles , gto , baracuda , impala , monte carlo . I was always a nova , dart , fox body guy. I like smaller rwd cars or really big diesels pickups. Not to say theyre not beautiful. They are.

I find that the cajones swell up a bit when I’m driving a good sized pickup. I drive the car for the mileage alot still, but the truck just feels right.

Its said a mans truck is his modern day horse.

Last time I got on a horse, I had been passing the bottle with the boys. I saw my buddy trot the thing in a circle, no sweat, right? I asked if I could ride it, they said it was green broke. So it’s broke, and green means good to go, right?

Apparently, that’s not what that means… newly/barely broke.

Good news though, after the horse took off with me, my face broke my fall, so we were good there. I also found my cell phone, the next day.

Morale of the story, I’ll stick with my truck :joy:

I love my truck , 01 ram 2500 diesel really large injectors compounds tuner head work fmic & tranny work.
Its not the newest biggest or the baddest but its just right for me . I live in the north east . Salt everywhere . The truck came from the south so the body is all rotted. Starts up everytime I need her is good on fuel . I would take that truck any where with my slide on camper not worrying about a thing. You feel invincible when you drive it.

When the farm got sold, we got the truck. I didn’t really like the trade personally, but I wasn’t on any deeds. Old dodge, looks like hell, but with me turning the wrenches, somehow she purrs now. Luck I suppose.

98 sport with the magnum motor

Right man? Once I finish this one (week) , I should be able to set up my tent!!! Stoked!

Good truck . Anything the big three make are good in my opinion . Simple to work on too.

You may not like this but if it comes down to slinging some mud or snow, id take the frontier my wife drives. I’ve hopped big ass, blade truck, snow banks in that thing. Had to dodge some semis on a one lane after a blizzard. I trust that truck with my life.

I enjoy driving the dodge more though.

Edit: the Nissan can be a pia to work on. There is a hose on the back of the upper intake plenum that sucks to get off and on to get to the top of the block and the injectors. It also makes a spark plug towards the firewall a double extension with a knuckle, hold your tounge right kinda thing.
