Wow. Man with all the hype from the YouTube influencers it sounded like the best fan ever made. Kept selling out/waiting list etc. reminded me of some hype seeds Between you & @EugeneDebs420 I think I’ll pass. Thanks for the honest reviews!
I’m gonna return it and spend $20 more on a tower fan that I’ll hang on it’s side and have full airflow across the canopy
@EugeneDebs420 I was looking into fans to do exactly that since my clip fans are dying and I’m about to spend $100 or something replacing them, and I found this thing. It’s exactly the size of a 4x4 though it would probably fit more easy in a 5x5 but it’s perfect for the idea of a curtain of horizontal air over the canopy:
IDK how it’ll hold up but I was thinking of getting the store warranty at HD or Best Buy and exchanging it before it runs out. It’s the cost of two decent normal tower fans so I might end up mounting one of those each in opposed corners but they’ll take up more space than this would. Still, I don’t know Sharper Image fans and I know Vornados are good from experience and two of these is the same price:
I also came across this very wacky but effective looking DIY project, I could see making a long box of straws with a row of computer fans behind them to make an air curtain but that would be pretty insane, I’d need about 10,000 straws or something. Still, neat hillbilly engineering:
I have 2 lasko tower fans hung sideways in my 8x4
does the job fine. I’m so mad that I bought the hype, I left an angry amazon review threatening to beat up their weedtube sponsees(weedtube just means weed focused YouTube) you gotta be some kinda scumbag to willfully endorse such plainly badly made productsDope, cheap fans for the win, I use a few of these from Walmart and they’re rock solid so far, I might start mounting them on some sort of pole adapter like you can buy but they work great circulating on the floor between my plants or pointed into a corner shooting up into the fan blowing on my light from the top:

These are also super long lasting and reliable in my experience and could definitely get adapted to pole mount with a bit of conduit and a hammer and a drill bit:
Those Laskos fit real nice in that 4x8
I’ve been using Vivosun 6" clip ons so far, I guess I get about two years out of them? Both are real loud but maybe I can tune up the bearings a little for now until I get new ones, they’ll definitely last a bit longer
I talk shit about vivosun, and they deserve some of it, but despite the quality control issues their warranty department will take care of things. These ac infinity’s aren’t even defective, they’re just badly designed and made of low quality material. The connectivity shit worries me too everyone is data farming these days so things that don’t need to be “smart” being online is sus af.
Why does an exhaust fan need a humidity control too? Best practice is to maintain a rooms environment and let the tents equalize
The laskos I’ve had for like 2 almost 3 years now and were like $35/ea when I bought em. I only recently thought to hang them sideways last run I let everything get to tall so my tops had no air movement in way to humid a room, lost so much weed to mold. Sideways I can bring them as high as I need. Also 75 gallons of soil is to much for an indoor grow in the south in the summer hydros ftw
Should be 2 buttons on back of fan, one controls speed (push multiple times), the other controls oscillation (push once on/off).
Not trying to prop up ACI, just trying to present accurate info. The controller is nice but not required for full functionality (unless they have changed something…)
Yeah, that sucks and that’s a crappy response/suggested solution. I’m apparently one of the lucky ones (connected, operating nonstop for several months) but I can surely imagine the frustration id have if it wasnt working. I’ve invested a couple hundred bucks in this system, so yeah, you should expect it to work as advertised. Good luck!
I have way over 1500 in their shit gear. Only thing worth a damn is the cloudline fans.
5 osc fans
2 non osc fans
5 6" cloudline fans
2 4"cloudline fans
2 69 pro wifi controllers
1 69 non wifi controller.
if you count returned oscillating fans I’m at 8+
Ouch. Feel your pain.
My fans are from their first batch, most likely they botched something up in subsequent runs.
My 2 oscillating fans are still going, but I do occasionally see them “hiccup” while oscillating so I figure that is the first step in the gears eventually wearing out.
I do personally like the system (I use their exhaust fans too) but I wouldn’t buy another oscillating fan from them, just doesn’t feel necessary.
I got a few of my oscillating fans from the first release/pre order. Both have died. They start with what your experiencing. Good thing is warranty or customer service ships one out before even returning an email, that’s a +.
I bought some of lil blizzard 6” fans and bought a 3D printed pole mount that the woodshed makes specifically for that fan model, things are bulletproof so far, plan to do the same in my veg tent soon
You saved yourself a major headache!! Wish I did the same!
It’s so stupid too because their inline fans fuck and the USB computer fan jawns are super useful and powerful but everyone says the clipons are cheese. I want to mess around more with the fully caged computer fans in large sizes, they seem to be made with better balanced blades and better bearings to run constantly, and lots of people seem happy with some simple DIYs using 120 or 150mm ones, I kinda want to make a rack of them for hanging sideways just above the canopy pointed down like 15°
I hear good things about those Lil Blizzards
P.S.
Everyone with a controller 69 in an illegal state could easily get popped. Just gotta drive around point phones at houses looking for the bluetooth/wifi signal name “ACI-E”.
Comes out the box like that even if you never used that feature.
