8 pack.
Getting slammed at 760ma - 14.7w per strip
Let me know how the hot glue works for you. Is it at least high temp hot glue?
Hot glue worked fine. Nothing special, just general purpose mini glue sticks. I melted slots for the rod.
Just so happens, I have prior experience building (and repairing!) 3d foam airplanes.
Strip integration. Previously ran two 315w cmh.
Need to decide what I’m going to run in flower.
Any suggestions? What would you run?
Originally thought I was going to surround a CMH with strips.
But my COB array is also calling my name. lol
315w CMH
250w Vero29 COB
The grow space is about 44" wide x 60"ish.
7+ ft height.
I only have 20 strips to work with for now.
unless both is an option, cob gets my vote
Going flyweight…
It was fun building the alum frames, but not using them for this phase.
Willing to risk adhesive failure in my lil hobby grow. I have screws if they screw with me.
11"x22"
All 20 strips - 3.5k 80cri
Also decided to stick with CMH/LED strip combo.
315w cmh
260w ± led
I have another spot for the COBettes.
Both - I like the way you think.
Considered CMH surrounded by 4 of the COBs. But then I got bit by boredom and the led strip bug.
Layout planning…
Boring.
Will use a Philips 3k bulb.
All remote mounted ballast.
Behind the foam panel is fresh air intake from lung room. (20x30 Merv13 filter)
Bottom left hole is veg box active intake vent
what about 2 cobs on both sides of the cmh?
Was there any noticeable difference between the buds under Cmh , under the cobs and in the overlap ?
Not really. But I have never grown under only COBs.
Way too many variables, mostly self induced
Forget the garden stakes.
Found these awesome 4ft fiberglass “posts” at Tractor Supply. $1.49 each. (Smooth surface unlike the green garden stakes.)
the dimmer [POTS] wires don’t need to be solid core or low AWG since they don’t carry much current back to the driver…
Dial-a-Watt. Have foam board will cobble. Lol
Different pots/dials. A 10-turn and standard 1-turn. Both 100ohmeys.
All the wiring will be redone once I figure out where I’m mounting everything.
Do you simply x-acto knife your foam board or melt? Very clean lines!
Yes, very similar to an exacto.
Snap-off blade from my window tinting hobby.
