Yup. Can’t go wrong with fruits
Tough decisions that’s for sure might have to throw them all in a hat and pick . Good luck deciding they all sound good .
Well my next run is going to be a Grape run. This one was really decided by fate I guess. I was looking through some of the creations from the Mayhem Series, and came across some very light colored, and premature looking Candy Mayhem seeds.
Candy Mayhem is a cross of Grape Candy and Purple Mayhem. I decided to give some a germination test to see how many of them would germinate. Well to my surprise, in spite of how premature they looked, I got almost 100% germination!
Then what to do with all the germinated Candy Mayhem seeds? I have a real hard time throwing away germinated seeds. I almost put them on a salad as sprouts but then decided, hey may as well do a Grape run!
This will be my first look at the Candy Mayhem cross. Because the seeds were premature, none of these were ever shared.
This will mainly be a Candy Mayhem run. If I find some nice ones, I’ll probably make some F2s. I also plan to add in a few other things to keep it interesting including FPOG F2, Thunder Bud, Bubble Gum, and Tahoe Purple Kush.
The test also turned out to be an interesting germination method. I left them in the napkin for over a week. The sprouts were all intertwined. I just put them in a bowl of water, and gently untangled them. Worked fine, and sure was easy.
Here they are when first germinated. Let the Candy Mayhem begin!
Those are some good looking sprouts @Comacus. I’m definitely interested in watchING this grow. Thanks for sharing!
Well both the Fruity Pebbles OG have nice long roots after 2 days, and will probably be ready for planting tomorrow.
Pretty sure I got these in 2010 so was anxiously waiting to see how well they germinated. It does show how well storing in the fridge works at least for 10-11 years.
These were F2s made from an original pack from Alien Genetics original release.
I’ve been wanting to check these out (like so many things) for a while so glad to finally get to run a couple!
I hope you get some sweethearts out of this run
Edit for archive.
Three more crosses from the X18 Silk Road run.
Iron Cindy-KOS x X18
Goji Purple Fire Thai-Snowhigh x X18
The Resinator (Landrace Kenyan)-Original Sensible x X18

Iron Cindy F2:
Wished I didn’t have so many irons in the fire I’d love to try the goji purple x18 . All 3 sound interesting.
The Candy Mayhems have grown a lot in the past week. My plan is to flip these to 12/12 soon when they are small since I have so many to hunt through this run. I’m just trying to wait to let the Indiana Bubblegum, The Flav, and Thunderbud to get a little bigger before the flip.
Uniform and very healthy. They look very happy, nice job as always.
The Candy Mayhem were getting a little crowed so I flipped them to 12/12 last week. I chopped eight males yesterday. All had nice structure and were sticky.
I kept one that had some purple in his early preflowers for a possible F2. I also have a couple FPOG F2 and Tahoe Purple Kush that have not shown their sex yet. If I get a nice looking male from one of those, I’ll keep it as a possible alternate while I wait to be sure the selected Candy Mayhem male is solid.
Beautiful plants as always @Comacus! I’m very interested in the FPOG turns out.
I think all of the Candy Mayhem will get purple. Like the selected male, one of the females is genetically purple, and started getting purple leaves as soon as I started 12/12.
They are just starting to flower. I have 3-4 that will get pollinated this weekend.
I started collecting pollen from the selected Candy Mayhem male. I’ve been keeping him in a trashcan with a lid so he doesn’t spread too much pollen until I am ready. He’s getting less light so starting to stretch a little. I still like his structure a lot.
I pollinated the three selected Candy Mayhem females this morning.
Well I decided to scrap the Candy Mayhem F2 project yesterday. I found some bananas and a couple male flowers on two of the three “keeper” females.
Also both of the FPOG F2 had a few male flowers so got chopped. I have heard this is not uncommon for this strain.
So chopped five plants yesterday. Tough day in the grow room!
Ouch! Definitely tough day there. Not surprised with cookes in the name but definitely still sucks… not just in the plants but the plans! Oh well… Whats next?
That sucks big time dude , sorry to hear
Not sure. First will finish the IBG, Tahoe Purple Kush, Thunderbud, and remaining Candy Mayhem if it hold out.
I would probably try one of them Romulan crosses
