I was talking with a person from Afghanistan a while back, he is and has been a provider for the one of the landrace providers. He swears they throw in at least 1/2 of known strictly hemp varietals . I see more and more of this crap and at those prices it’s ludicrous really making me start to wonder. Glad I’ve only grabbed 2 packs from them
Malawi gold huh? Now you are talking my language. Yes I hear you 100% the prices are nuts for what they give these farmers as well.
Doesn’t matter what kind of gold it is if you don’t get any.
Malawi “OLD”, not Malawi Gold.
That’s a fact brother
I was just telling Jinglepot yesterday about Romulan genetics great customer service. They have been awesome at every turn, sent a replacement pack and then some . He spoke with them and they instantly offered to replace the pack on their dime. Now that’s how it should be, Katsu is the exact same. Will always have your back regarding his genetics.
All about this right here!! @Upstate looking great my man. Glad ya gave a whopping to those Beatles bro. I’ll be hanging out in the corner following along.
Customer service can make or break a company.
I wouldn’t typically do such a thing, but I’ll be selling enough tlt Jamaica seeds from the good plants to reimburse me for the Malawi.
Half price too, fuckers.
Here’s a better option folks.
Haha get em! Pricks !
Thinking of op ing their Congo black and durban poison too. Seeds are so easy to make. I can have 10,000 little competitors ready in 4 months.
Seed Wars
Its simple really… Give respect, get respect.
And the converse: give me shit, get fucked!
Todays society that has long been forgotten by the majority sadly bro
You know what gets me is that for 30 Malawi seeds tlt spent maybe $15. Probably less.
Yep, that’s where the mind boggling part comes in! Those who know, know. You got guys like Bodhi 60-70$ Doc D, etc. stellar genetics for great prices. Then you have companies charging 3/4/500$ a pack, there are some I can understand the pricing but very very few and far between. OG is helping people to understand this and the ease of making beans as well as getting gems into peoples hands for nada or a trade. I can see within a couple years if things keep going the way they are here on OG . Us having a catalogue of unbelievable strains new and old going around that can rival any seedbank. Tbh were there already but the focus is finally switching from HYPE hybrids to tried and true strains and old school indicas, sativas, landraces etc. so we are seeing so many gems every year it’s just amazing!
Regarding 3-500 a pack…I’ve seen a company charging this for" landraces" that are not landraces, as shown by phylos. A little berry, kush or skunk genetics in an otherwise pure landrace may or may not be showing contamination(on Phylos), but 1/3 landrace and the rest Skunk and kush genetics, is certainly not pure. I feel bad for people wasting so much money if they were looking for pure genetics to breed with. I don’t doubt the strains are potent, but landrace? No way in Hell.
I was thinking of starting a thread about helping fund a congo black seedrun just for this reason. TLT has some great looking strains but they have a real shady odor to them. If they’re truly passionate about preserving these lines they would welcome all competition. I hope you start selling these lines because I’ll buy them.
I want to put this out there on expensive seeds in general. It takes a long time to care for good males and good females when it comes to breeding. If the line or cultivar has some recessive traits and those are desired, the breeder should be rewarded for their work. They’re giving you ACCESS to the same genetics they’ve put their time and efforts into. With a few measly bucks you can have years and years and years worth of work. Most people take that for granted because when a plant makes seeds it makes thousands of them.
Another thing to point out is that the market sets the prices sometimes. A rare strain can sell out instantly no matter what the price is. I seen a strain called Diamond Fruit by FANG Designer Genetics. $2,000 for 12 I believe. Insane. Sold out in every bank I saw it offered. People will exchange money for things they seek. Personally, I will pay a little more than the next guy for something just so I get it before he does. Dog eat dog world sometimes. Scarcity is a thing sometimes with busts and the nature of our business.
Finally, a long flowering landrace variety I would expect to be slightly more expensive than any modern hybrid/indica which flower and grow much faster than landrace sativas just based on how much time is involved.
Since we’re on the topic of Lambsbread here I want to keep this post on point. TLT’s version is 170euros/10 red seeds. It takes soo long to flower, half a year. Between finding the best specimens and keeping them healthy for almost a whole year (growth and germination included), asking a bit more for this strain doesn’t seem unreasonable to me.
FWIW I paid almost THREE times the value of these beans for a modern hybrid.
My two cents y’all don’t take it as gospel
I find it’s the foolishness of buyers that set’s the prices. Sure hyped strains sell out quickly with ridiculous prices because people will pay them just to say they got that over priced hyped strain. Welcome to the world of social media marketing. The BOG’s, Bohdi’s and such do all the same things as these hype strain breeders yet don’t rip people off in the end.
People will pay what they wish and that is up to them but when I see packs for hundreds and even thousands of dollars I always have to laugh. I have been smoking this plant for over 35 years and have yet to find that strain worth the the prices some folks charge. Sure some great stuff can be sold at a premium but how much of a premium becomes the question. Adding a few bucks for something special is understandable but some are charging over $100 per seed with no guarantees, that’s insane to me. But hey, to each their own.
The idea behind that might be to make them too expensive to pop. When they just sit in people’s vaults you don’t even need to put work into it. Put in bird seed, nobody will find out.
