(complete) F.B.S.C. 1960 Lambsbread Preservation

holy shit, another post where i want to tell it, but its so long to read.
dont be surprised if you see that few people buy landrace. not to complain, but im pretty shure thts a fact… dont know if years of selection change that…

so, even IF they easy to make… they are hard to sell… makes also sense why realseedcompany is strange mooded since 2 year … since then two three competitors showed up.

i just telling you, dont make yourselve illusions… but shure… probably one can live from it if he does it fulltime, with 100 complaining guys in the emails probably … consider that too, it takes hours behid the pc, unless your reputatio blows their light out…

how many seeds did you swap per year for a good seed? / VS how many did you give free… thats a different thing.

ACE seeds told themselves landraces dont sell very good, and that they rather would sell more landraces, but they cant afford to do that too often, so they have still hybrids, shortselected and so forth.

anything fatleafed landrace is probably a different question… afgani, 5 times more requests and fife time more seedyeald…
again, if you have such a super reputition to begin with, probably thats a big plus.

that said TLT Seeds are a special case. they make extra d with the sheer mass of landraces, without probably to care so much about any quality. they just found a good bissnes model. but again, anyone that does it with heart, probably has like 5 , 10 lines that he stands behind… i doubt that is such a good buissnesmodell.

I mean, a new thread opens here with a landrace Line nobody had seen before… you have 90 people telling yahoo, so cool, and like 3 4 going: OMG, can i have some, i need them bad, please please please give me some… and this is biggest forum on the net…

Another thing: strains sell out instantly cause the Seedvendors dont make prohit… How omany Times have i see exactly the pure Landraces to sell out in couple days… well, they were just very limited stock… and that is cause the dont make peoples really rich…

its not that easy as you think (from what i heard and sense) . TLT Seeds is exeption with 100s of strains open pollinated at insta

I have my doubts about the years of work part… i haven’t seen such a thing in a looonng time

Look at the corn industry, 12 years to complete a breeding cycle, tens of millions of plants grown, seeds are still 100 for a buck.

LOL, could be. We did a bunch of group buys of expensive stuff to F2 and some of those packs performed horribly. Shitty germ rates, hermies etc. In the end price is no indication of quality.

True. Thinking about it, in my very limited career I think I had much better success with stuff I got on OG for free than with what I bought.

I love me some Gage gear but those Fang packs and a lot of the recent limited drops have really disgusted me. I saw that diamond fruit and was dumbfounded!

There’s sooooo many terrible banks/companies out there it’s unreal and most advertise which most good breeders do not so they get seen by all the newbs and people who really don’t know and boom! It’s a shame really. Like they blow up huge but have terrible beans that aren’t even what they claim :man_facepalming:t2:

Hahaha it’s a conspiracy! The new guy buys hype beans and when they underperform, he buys hype grow gear, still average, then he buys hype nutrient lines.
I jokes, I jokes.

Then he finds og and grows his best weed yet!

Could’ve swore I heard a podcast interview with somebody from TLT stating they would be providing genetics for free “for the sake of preservation” before they really expanded their business model into what it is today.

Perhaps it was there way of gauging the market interest?

Yeaass… seems seeds are like most commodities now. Footwear for example… most will get you from A to B, some want shoes for the high sticker… “Red Bottoms” Some of are even uncomfortable! Lol

Yeah, Crapkingseeds is a perfect example. Tons of advertising, stupid pins, fancy packaging and total garbage seeds. They are smart though, they do sell some good seeds so there are always those out there backing them up and saying “but I grew some great stuff from them”.

Lol @DougDawson it was what I was thinking of in fact! Great minds bro, great minds. Crap king is right!

MassMedical has a Lambsbread strain it’s only in regs - MassMedical has great genetics Vision Seeds has a lambsbead strain crossed with AK – very good and worth a grow !!

I made over 6,ooo Double Panama and Oaxaca seeds in 4 months with no veg time. 300 packs of each. It’s easy to do a repro, especially with no selections. I consider that a limited run. The Oaxaca was mostly seedless and still made 3,200 seeds, most given away now. I don’t believe the limited stock ploy. Been doing this too long. I can make 1,000 seeds on a branch and have the rest of the plant to smoke. Anyone that can’t make that many seeds on one whole plant doesn’t know what the hell they’re doing. The only thing not in limited Supply are the idiots like me that buy the seeds. Some people truly care about the plant and you can tell. They do things like send you extra seeds and extra strains to try, charge a modest price, and would be horrified if a customer attempted to germinate 30 seeds after only two years and only one germinated. That’s all I’m going to say about this subject.

FWIW I find this very helpful. Having somebody who loves the plant and who has bought from a lot of places report their bad experiences can save people like myself from getting burnt. Thank you for speaking about it in public.

All good.
I think there are really not thaat many buyers… I think there are like a FEW people with EXTREEME interest in Landraces… And thats why Landraces more often than not are expensive…

They would probably have a secound option, to sell landraces really chaep, like 1 Dollar per seed, maximally, and would probably get alot more buyers… thats how imagine it… I think more than this Handful of lovers WOULD buy seeds IF theyre extreemly wellpirced… The pollenchuckers (in lack of better therms) , the curious… and the the seedadicts…

So imagine a Seedbank realising this situation, either sell them very cheap or very expensive… If you sell very cheap , worldwide, you see where im going, you sell much much more seeds, means you are much more likely going to jail…

That is the final point where im just you know peaceful, let em do, no complaining… probably my feeling is wrong and they are stone-rich guys with ferraris … Do you know that?
