its hasn’t been opened up yet, the sees just got popped probably the earliest it will open up is after confirmed pollination of females.

I’ve heard of scuffing with sandpaper but never hand cracking. Do you use a tool of some sort or just mash them with your fingers?

A quick check of the romulan seeds and 5 more tails are showing! That’s 8, better than 3, lol. I planted the 3 that popped tails yesterday so there are 5 left showing, I’m going to let the tap roots grow a bit longer before planting.
