As I mentioned in the Introduction thread, I’m new to growing, I’m drying my second plant now and should be harvesting the third soon. These three were all auto-flowering and did ok. I didn’t take too many pics of these but here are a few of my first plant. It was Critical Purple. At this point in time it smelled so bad of skunk I had to move it into a closet to finish. I harvested after 9 weeks of flowering, and I probably should have gone another week. Drying was my problem with this one, went too fast. I dried it in the same room with other plants growing. It was dry enough to jar in just a couple of days. Lesson learned, plant two is now drying in a separate room.
I tend to give all my plants 10 weeks to finish. With the low humidity we have atm I am in the same boat, 2 day dry in air, then into a paper bag for 3 days to try and slow it down, then into jars for a couple of days, wait until it gets moist again, and then put it back in the paper bag, and re jar after an hour. So long as it doesn’t dry out completely, it will improve just a bit more slowly.
Thank you for the tip. I’ll keep that process in mind for the plant I’m drying now. I’m controlling the humidity a lot better this go around and I moved the other plants to a closet in another room until its ready to come down from hanging.
I hardly took any pics of this plant, it was my second. This one was a Blue Dream auto-flower and was the only one of three seeds that successfully sprouted. It only grew to be about 2-2.5’ and just seemed to not be as strong as the first plant. I didn’t trim this one before hanging it. A friend wanted to do the trimming so she will come over and do the trimming when I am ready to jar.
Being new to growing, I don’t necessarily know what questions to ask until I come across a problem. So I’m open to tips or any suggestions, if you notice something in my pics please feel free to point it out. Thanks
That’s a clever way to hang!
Did some transplanting this weekend. Most of these are clones that were given to me, and one in the round plastic pot is one i started from seed
They look so good
Bubble Gum
Looks good,good luck
Hi man, I see what looks like white splodges on some of the lower leaves in the pictures. Is that just stains from watering
I believe it’s from watering? Prior to moving them into that room they were in a tight spot and I had to crawl around trying to water so I wasn’t the most careful. Is there a way to know for sure if it is water stains like I assumed or could it be something else?
Powdery Mildew looks similar and why I was asking.
Wipe the leaf gently with a damp paper towel and see if it comes of easily. Do you have a scope or magnifier of some sort, PM will look like extremely small snow flakes sitting on the leaves.
Here is an example.
It should wash off. If not then it might be a problem. But by the looks of it they look healthy.
What kinda lights you running?
@Shadey I don’t have a scope, I’ve been using the zoom on my phone camera. I did notice some white on a stem that I rubbed off with my fingers yesterday, don’t know if it means anything. I’ll do some deeper investigating after work today.
@LilJonB I haven’t invested in “good” lights yet. I am using a combo of Sansi LED full spectrum bulbs.
Whatever works man. Just curious.
It’s working for now I guess.
I really hope that is water stains, I have an auto on the 10th week of flowering in there, I haven’t noticed anything abnormal on that one other than the fan leaves turning color the past few days and that it can’t support itself anymore.
