Covid-19 check in

So before anyone posts anything confrontational or condescending, you want us all to sit back, roll and smoke a fattie first?

Moreover, imo it’s futile to expect this topic to not become contentious, opinionated, and also shift toward vaccines. There’s been many posts deleted from this thread which don’t reflect the continued controversy of this topic. Prob best to either put better guardrails on the subject matter which is acceptable in this thread, or open it to not restrict discussion, including vax info, opinions, etc.

I know 2 people who have been intubated.

But the biggest issue for me is the rift it’s creating in my family.

I have a brother and a BIL who refuse to get vaccinated and sisters and a SIL who refuse to have anything to do with unvaccinated people. It will make Christmas both sad and interesting because I doubt the unvaccinated will be invited/attend.

It’s just odd. Deliberate estrangement. Seems like a weird hill to die on but I have no choice but to accept that it’s their choice.

I got sick going to doctors appointments in march 2020 before the government acknowledged that covid was spreading within communities in the US.

I had headaches, dizziness, and exhaustion. Even though my case was “asymptomatic” (did not impact my ability to breathe or require hospitalization) I still ended up with long covid and had lasting physical injuries from damage caused by the virus like chilblains and pleurisy.

I am disabled and have a compromised immune system and chronic health problems, but I am young (27). After covid I had even less mobility, and I lost even more of my muscle mass.

because of my disability it was very difficult for me to get vaccinated. I couldn’t go to the large vaccination sites, and my doctors weren’t sure if it would be safe for me to get the vaccine. Finally they determined it would be safe for me to get the johnson and johnson vaccine, but not the pfizer or moderna because of the risk of myocarditis / pericarditis when I already had pleurisy from the virus.

After I got the vaccine, I felt really sick and had a high fever for 2 days. I continued to feel sick and had a low fever for a week. This turned out to be a very good thing. Because of my compromised immune system, I never fully healed from the virus. But after getting the vaccine my body was able to produce antibodies and an immune response, and I finally started to improve.

The chilblains and pleurisy finally improved, and I got some of my strength and energy back. I still haven’t been able to go outside without help, but I’m getting there, and I’m needing less assistance to get around my house.

I really recommend getting the vaccine, especially if you have long covid symptoms. It was absolutely worth the side effects, because I finally started to recover from the long term damage caused by the virus.

Anybody who is relying on so called “natural immunity” instead of a vaccine should really keep this in mind. Your body is still vulnerable, and we don’t develop an effective an effective immunity. If humans were able to develop an immunity to covid, no one would experience long covid.

I’m sorry that your family is torn apart by the politics around a deadly virus.

Thanks. It’s become so complicated and everyone is tired of talking about it.

I want them to get vaccinated less because of the virus but because of the divisive politics.

It’s interesting that there were estrangement issues with these brothers before but the vaccine has made it worse.

I was estranged from my brother because of his previous sociopathy and the fact he didn’t vaccinate and got covid19 was nothing to me
Mom has always masked and was careful even though her entire church family pressured her to act stupid. Of course the most vocal critics of her masking all got c19 couldnt work, went in the hospital lost tons of money can’t work and now want the church to bail them out.

Hello,

I got my booster a week ago, last Friday. It was the Moderna, I’ve now had all three! Astra-Zeneca, Pfizer and Moderna, the trifecta…between all three, the Astra-Zeneca was by far the worse as far as side effects go.

I’m just now starting to feel like I have full use of my left arm from the Moderna, and I did feel like overall shit for a few days, but I’d rather some small side effects than full blown Covid/Omicron. I’m already disabled and have too many co-morbidities, it would take a round out me for sure!

Best wishes and blessings for everyone out there. We’ve all been touched by this pandemic somehow. :pensive: I’m going to continue :pray:t2: It becomes “endemic” sooner rather than later.

I got all 3, all pfizer… no side effects … 38years old and always had a good immune system. Never had a flu shot. I never really get sick. Couldnt tell ya the last time I had s cold. Someone that used to be my beat friend works for NIH. He said were all fucked. All of his superiors said were all fucked. This shit wont go away for anytime so(20+years) it will be a survival of the fittest. It will slowly take out the weak and leave the fittest of fit.

My wife and son both had Covid-19 in September, both vaccinated. I tested negative, stay healthy everyone. Overgrow the world.

I’m 61.9 and had three shots…
I caught covid last weke after working a petri dish environment for two years. Tested negative on Tuesday, then positive on Thursday.
I had a headache and cough, sore throat, sniffles. When I got sniffles… smoked weed. It dried up. When my throat was sore and I was coughing I drank whiskey. Going on five days now and feeling much improved. So far my wife has had no symptoms.
My daughters is only double vaxxed and her hubby my soninlaw…was a vaccine refuser. He has body aches and chills from exposure to a positive case last Monday. I’m praying my daughter doesn’t come down with this. She already has lung damage from smoking and working in the swimming pool industry.
My workplace had to close because of inadequate staffing…closed one day and people are screaming bloody murder in anger that their kids are at home…we will reopen Tuesday.

I also caught covid last week after having all three Pfizer boosters. Negative at work test, positive home test the next day (last Wednesday). It feels like I’m over the brunt of it now. Had fever from 99.1-103.5F, slight cough, sore throat, head congestion, body aches, chills, spacey feeling in my head at times. HR jumps when I walk around. And just yesterday have severely diminished taste and smell.

Thankfully no lung issues and my pulse oximeter at home has been from 97-100%. So I think I’ll pull through fine, but this shit sucks.

Four words! Find a special close romantic friend!!! Sorry u had to go thru this shit alone!

They are trying to make us get the vax in Quebec with fines and I don’t want to. The make me do stuff and the some one is trying to beat me up parts in my brain are attached so I am in fight or fight mode. Do what fits you but I haven’t opted for a flue shot in over 3 decades so not for me. Nothing puts me in the at risk category. I am in the condition that comes with no alcohol, no sugar, lots of veggies and mostly fish protein almost zero red meat steady serious exercise. I owe 4k to Ottawa in inflated parking tickets, they never got so we will see I guess.
