Crownpoodle's 4x4

I know some folks moved to Alaska. They’re pretty grower friendly.

A challenge, or something? Any and all ideas welcome. My electric bill took a hefty jump this billing cycle. No major changets here. Same tents on the same light settings. Not super cold. Been running the heater less not more.
Right now the 4x4 runs 12/12. This tents outside in a shed that has fair insulation. I only use a heater about half the time. On 6am to 6pm. The 3x3 runs 5am to 11pm. I made a change to my fans in the 3x3, but I can’t see a change like this as a result.
I’m open to anything, including new purchases if it’s reasonable. Thanks team R&D.

Sounds like your electric provider increased the cost to deliver the electricity. I swear I pay more in delivery cost than usage. lol

Do you have peak and off-peak difference per KwH? If so, Maybe switch the lights to off peak hours.

One option is 4x4 tent go to 11/13, 4th week of flower drop down to 10/14 till chop.

I flip to 11/13 and stay on 11/13. I’ve been thinking about going down to 10/14 to save a couple hours of energy after the 4th week of flower. I also want to figure out if 16/8 lighting would be ok to veg under or even 15/9 to help shave some hours off the veg cycle.

I’ve found that a lot of plants these days will trigger flowering around 16hrs
This is what I have found in my greenhouse when I try and let them run without light dep and in my experiments indoor trying to find those early triggering strains. Some trigger and start throwing preflowers at 16 1/2 but “most” I have found will trigger at 16hrs and less.

In the 4x4 I have had some pretty solid yields. I shifted what I was doing, aiming at growing more strains. I like choices. I can do some things to reduce costs a bit. I can also do things where I am back having more than the missus and I consume. I can find a home for anything.
My back yard will come back into play. Not like in the past, but enough to offset the utility bump.
In the past I had bigger plants, fighting mold late summer. I’ll start later. Grow smaller plants, paying attention to flowering times. Some Autos are likely too.

What type of surgery did you wind up going with?

Thanks for asking @Hotrods_and_hounds . Outpatient deal. Stoked! One spot 1.5", gets what they call a Coflex. Pressure off angry disks. Retains flexibility instead of fused. 2nd spot, .75", fancy Dremel tool to clean stuff up. No car for 2 weeks. Couple days chill, Then walk as much as feels good.
You know where I am. Walking here will be good for recovery.
