Beautiful pics, i ran the Pure OG x TK and the Trop Cherry x PNP last year and made some crosses with them. Plan on running the 5150TK x Irene this next run and would love some bubba just cant stand the slow growth, great minds think alike.:facepunch:t3:

What was the goal here? I’ve tried grafting to get more aggressive growth but the results didn’t justify the two weeks of recovery time. Seems like a really cool idea if you can make it work

Has anyone ran of the F1 durb packs? I know nothing about the F1 durb, I’m just looking for a general idea of what it offers.

I’m relieved to see the start of a little re-veg action on the nicest TK S1 because i didn’t save cuts and this one is a 9 on the Mrs Budders scale.
Happy wife, happy life.

I think what hes saying you can do all that with a female as well.

You can outcross to a different female to introduce hybrid vigor. Or you can line breed with a familial female for specific traits. There is nothing you can do with a male that you cant just do with a female. Outside of a y chromosome theres no difference.

What you can do with a female has a much bigger upside though. Knowing what youre going in with is the name of the game in breeding.

i was thinking about my wallet too with csi humboldt but from what i’ve seen the guy gives you freebies worth more than your order lol. one guy on youtube posted he bought 3 packs, and got like 30 strains with his order. so i think i might save up and get a few strains, also gotta save up for some cuts. theres some good OG cuts floating in cali right now and i gotta havem lol

I understand all of that in theory and have no issue with people making or growing fem beans ,
I do how ever have concerns that a large amount of the newer breeders out there are not putting in the work to properly test the results of these fem on fem breedings and may be inadvertently breeding towards hermaphrodites,
CSI takes a lot of times with what he is doing I’d expect his fems to be some of the better ones out there but in regards to breeding it’s not something I incorporate into my projects.
There have been many great plants found in s1s I will say but what can and should be expected from continued breeding in that manner is up for debate.
If I did ever make fem beans it would be a the bubba kush because there is a amazing sprite smelling pheno that seems to pop up in the s1s but that would be to then grow and smoke not breed with.
I don’t want to de rail the csi thread with long drawn out discussions about x and Y chromosomes ,missing attributes from the fathers side and what that could mean and when that would and would not be beneficial but it is all very interesting in the right time and place.

Man I saw some pics from the 5150 TK x Irene and damn! Go for it.
Btw, how did you like TC x PnP? I had two, one is visually very similar to Trop Cherry mother, but this plant is absolute rock solid in all aspects, which surprised us. It is totally resistant to mold/pm, can be grown outdoors in the middle of Europe, has amazing smell of cherry dough, cures to almost cherry cola smell and taste like it, has great yield and vigor and amazing bag appeal. The high is fantastic daytime smoke and aphrodisiac with good potency to boot. I will be reversing the cut to make S1 from this one, also crossed her to a lot of stuff by now.

Well let me answer this question from two different perspectives.
One is simply to minimize space for genetic testing, I dont live in legal country and I dont want to dedicate too much space for bld type plants. This way I can test 5-7 different strains on single plant.
The other perspective is the one you implied. You absolutely can enhance the performance of genetics with the right choice of root stock. Terpenes, vigor and even THC content can be increased via grafting as shown by many studies in the field. If you have a strain with relatively weak root development, this directly affects the yield and quality of finished product. Grafting can fix that :sunglasses: Although if your strain is already good in that regard, grafting might not do any noticeable difference, which might have been your case.

I want to see indica plants grafted onto true sativa rootstocks in hopes of the English walnut on black walnut root stock effect but have not had time to play with this…

Right. That would be the main thing. Starting from stable stock.

But that goes for males as well. So really its just down to the breeder either way.

I think most peoples misconceptions come from confusing selfing with feminized crossing. Selfing will indeed cause inbreeding which leads to undesirable traits(herms etc). Incrossing or outcrossing with 2 different females is the same thing as using a male. But Im open to any information I may be missing.

But I agree with your overarching concerns though. You have to be working with stable P1 stock to get stable progney.

Ps. Csi is heavily into fem breeding obviously. So I wouldn’t consider this discussion derailing the thread.

Maybe it is. I apologize to everyone if so. Ill leave my point at that either way. I just think getting this part of the argument out there could help the community.

I do think out of all the fem plants I’ve seen grown csi has some of the better looking ones that have a large amount of good reviews , that plus his freebies seem to make it well worth the investment for somebody looking to get some winners.

Got a link? I’m familiar with fruit tree grafting to improve salt tolerance. We run avodacoes off well water and it’s night and day yields. The terpenes or THC content of the Scion though should not be affected whatsoever

I grew the Trop Cherry x Pinks N Purps last year in my parents garden thinking they’d enjoy the pink/purp flowers. Popped a 3 pk ended up with one Trop Cherry, and the other two were pnp dominant. I open pollinated everything in the garden real early on with Strayfoxs “Triangle Kush x Hollywood Pure Kush-I95” so they were fully seeded no real bud to sample when finished. The Trop Cherry had a orange/citrus nose to it and finished around 60 days, the PNP went around another month, darker color, and more of a rotten fruit/crayon smell.
