Oohh following along! I won a pack of Vietnam black x lemon Thai curious how it will differ from the zang! love the 100 gallons running 20s right now but plan on upgrading to something like a 3x3 bed or 100 gallon pot

Okay, thatā€™ll be cool to watch, very interested in this. Are you gonna add worms? And do everything just exactly the same as you would for your 100-gallon pots?

How do you like the 20s? Do everything you want them to?

This is one of the most informative and interesting threads Iā€™ve read on Overgrow. Thank you!

Iā€™m loving it, especially the runners youā€™ve got to shape the containers oval.

I really liked how you went in depth in how- the roots and insect life aerate the soil. The creation of the compost and how youā€™ve - not sure if this term applies- vertically integrated your whole process, from the hay to the cows to the manure to the cannabis. How this brings more control and understanding to the process.

Very interesting and educational.

Itā€™s a honor to read it.

Thanks so much for sharing that. May I ask: How did this all come to be? Did you grow up in a setting like that, our did you make a decision at some point to embrace and embody that lifestyle after living a different one?

Yeah, this is the thing that I was thinking about when I read your posts. Your idea totally makes sense to me (obviously; Iā€™m kind of trying it out right now haha), but at the same time, I wonder how well itā€™s gonna work without a high-quality compost. I mean, I dunno, maybe what I used for the new mix is okay, getting those bags (and the bags of biochar) was an adventure unto itself. Had to drive out to Thousand Oaks and spend three hours with this dude who insisted I come out to his house and check out his garden (which did look good); apparently he was one of the first organizers of Earth Day in 1970; then worked for Paul Mitchell (the hair product dude); says heā€™s teaching a class with Elaine Ingham; some organization heā€™s involved with is giving Paul Stamets an award later this month; and on and on and on and onā€¦ haha. It really was a full day of hanging out with this dude and listening to his stories before we finally went to the warehouse and grabbed the compost and biochar haha. Didnā€™t expect that at all. It was kind of funny, although even now, in retrospect, Iā€™m not sure if he was completely full of shit or not. And Iā€™m pretty good at being able to tell when people are full of shit.

In any event, yeah, Iā€™m not sure about the stuff I picked up from him (the biochar looked good, not positive about the compost), but weā€™ll see if it works. I also grabbed a bottle of wood vinegar from him, ever heard of that? I hadnā€™t, but I may check it out this grow.

I really need to just buy a composter and start making my own. Or buy a farm so I can do it like you do haha!

That petiole thing on the fans is actually something Iā€™ve seen on a few plants Iā€™ve grown over the years. Always kinda weirded me out haha. I mean, Iā€™m sure your compost is good, not trying to burst your bubble or anything, but yeah, itā€™s happened a few times on various plants of mine. I always figured it was just a genetic mutation or something, the result of mashing shit up.

Iā€™ve heard Irene Kush does that.

I appreciate you taking the time to answer so intentionally. Thatā€™s quite a journey indeed!

Damn impressive. Beautiful plants, and I love the custom cart to squeeze the big bags through the door.

But I gotta tell you most impressive thing is your dedication to your land, your animals, and the cycle that nurtures them. It is some truly inspirational stuff. :+1:

Great thread. Leaf buds are fairly common with Chinese landraces and Colombian to name a couple. Iā€™ve had a couple hybrid plants do it too. Super silver haze was one. Always thought it would be a neat trait to fix in a line.

Hmmm. Iā€™ll have to see if @ClassicGenetix gifted me any of those. Can you describe the high?
Which Dalat is this? Snowhigh Dalat? Oh i see these are from a Freaker preservatiom @YoBigdaddy and @Pheno_fiend worked on.
Plants are quick to trigger into flower with a decent veg time. 2 weeks? Crazy.

And the plants are put in a Massive Black HolešŸ˜†. You do some nice work my friend. I really look forward to trying some of your gear once Iā€™ve made some of my own. My mouth waters reading the descriptions.

Yeah, the last plant I remember that happening on was Bodhiā€™s Larry Lotus (Larry OG x Snow Lotus) a couple years ago. Or it was on some plant during that grow, anyway, mightā€™ve been a different cross I was growing at the same time. I remember it happening on a plant when we were living at our old house, too, like six or seven years ago. Iā€™ve run that Larry Lotus twice, once at our old house and once at our new one and now Iā€™m wondering if itā€™s something that just shows up on the LL plants sometimes.

Donā€™t know why I said that (faded, probably). I meant to say,ā€Calyx on a petiole,ā€ haha.

He could be right. I donā€™t know if youā€™ve ever blazed straight Flo, but itā€™s real good weed. Probably DJ Shortā€™s best work. Itā€™s definitely my favorite of anything of his Iā€™ve tried.

Most likely some Oaxaca in there. Iā€™m looking up the genetics now. DJ liked Oaxaca
