The largest female Sinai croaked and was dried and added to trim container. The male Sinai continues to grow after topping flowering branches. He has 2 top nodes with male flowers. The smaller 2 females are growing slowly with emphasis on top buds.
I cleaned the tent for germination of Tiger Jack, Malawi Gold and Nepalese Jamaican seeds. The germination rate on the patio is low for all plants. I will switch to enclosed space and take notes. I have a few pots of basil, marigolds and tomatoes outside that germinated and sprouted. They were planted in harvested soil topped with compost and watered with rainwater.
My compost bins are full and I need a tumbling compost bin. Fresh corn sprouts faster than dry corn.
Waiting for the peppers to flower.
I have an assortment of seeds including Oregon Huckleberry germinating and sprouting in the Red Tent using flats, solo cups and a 2 gallon pot. The outdoor garden is looking good after a thunderstorm. Purple Russian tomatoes developed thicker stems but no flowers yet. Jaguar Marigolds are starting to bloom and the basil is getting bigger.
Marigolds are supposed to repel pests that includes mosquitoes, aphids, thrips, tomato hornworms, white flies, Mexican bean beetles and squash bugs. I don’t know if I grew the best marigolds for IPM but the plants are growing. They get rain water and sprouted seed tea 2x. Will top dress with compost after basil gets taller.
planted several RSC Afropips Malawi Gold in solo cups on windowsill. Seeds inserted into soil without soaking. One has broken the surface on sixth day and is moving fast.
I added basil seeds to the cups of Malawi Gold seeds. A second Malawi Gold seed has sprouted of the seven seeds planted. I added basil, marigold seeds and a top dressing of compost to the Sinai seedling. The marigolds in backyard are attracting bees and wasps.
The 2 okra planted in the ground are growing. I believe I have some horsetail growing on the edge of the okra plot. It would be a welcome addition to the comfrey plant; never turn down free plant food.
Holy crap looks like the after math of a porno scene in there! lol
Wow can’t say Iv ever seen pistils that long before! Is that typical if that strain?
This is the first one I’ve seen with such long pistils. Its about 4th generation of a series of open pollination seeds. It’s growing slowly; I hope the top dressing followed with barley sprouted seed tea makes a positive impact.
I was just corresponding with a very experienced MMJ grower and patient who has been cultivating since the early 70s. He is currently very excited about the medical potential of african genetics, and the possibility of finding phenotypes rich in the cannabinoid CBC.
He says CBC reduces perception of pain, increases mental acuity, and acts as an anti cancer agent. He has been working primarily with a very old durban poison line, and a worked durban x landrace durban. He said that african heirlooms in general should be explored for high cbc potential.
I’m excited to see what you find in this malawi gold. I hope it will be medicinal for you.
PS- I’m still planning to get you a lebanese sinatra / dank sinatra care package next time I can mail seeds out.
Sorry for being so slow. Ever time I think I have a handle on 2020, it throws me for a loop again.
2020 is no joke. I have planted the first of several packs of Afropips Malawi Gold and hope to have several healthy plants this month. The seeds are slow to germinate. I have some Congolese and a few Zamal seeds. I miss the African strains; they are very good medicine.
I will be very happy to receive your package whenever it arrives. Don’t stress yourself in that regard.
My poblano peppers are starting to fruit. My Purple Russian tomatoes were beaten by heavy rain but are growing new vines with leaves. The oregano and okra are growing. I may harvest more than basil from my first outdoor garden grown during hurricane season. It’s a learning experience.
2 Malawi Gold are growing. There are 7 seeds in this pack; 4 sprouted and 2 died. Will update when the remaining 3 sprout. I will pop another pack later this month after I get a group of hybrids in veg.
These are in cups of compost and coco; fed with comfrey and water soluble calcium under 600w LED on 18/6.
Bat guano tea being aerated for 48 hours: 3 gallons well water, 6 tablespoons soluble calcium, 12 tablespoons Sunleaves Jamaican bat guano.
Successful germination of BOG Blue Moon Rock seeds using compost/coir medium watered with aerated bat guano tea. Seeds were started in flats of compost/coir and moved to cups after sprouting. Noted long roots during transfer; will not repeat this process with the smaller flats.
Lesson learned: take pix of sprouted seeds BEFORE they are placed on trays in tent under LED. These trays are for catching water, not lifting 30 cups of wet soil :
