Dendro's Outdoor Grow 2022

Little one is down for a nap, went out and worked on the garden for a while. Got everything sticking back up, splits bound together and I’ll give everything a nice foliar tonight just to make sure they’re happy. Need to spray some BT too, I’ll mix that in.

I don’t like the idea of duct tape over the splits, anything better to use? Wax or something? Maybe some H2O2 before dressing it? If tape is the best, tape it is, just seems there would be something better.

Ramble on, sounds like a great morning you’re having yourself!

I like electrical tape because it has a bit of give to it.

Hey All…Been working like a mad man today…Wiped out am I. Mowed a shit ton of grass and sifted some bubblebags for some much needed product, but now my back is fuct! Taking a breather but wanted to check in…
Glad your ladies arent in a real bad way Field I know the feeling of any damage and it hurts! As you pointed out though, the ladies dont really ever seem to care about getting slapped around here and there, no joke, they kind of like it rough, probably not as rough as they got it but still…

So if I find or cause a brake(i literally dropped a plant last year and broke like three of her branches almost clean off, removed two, left one but she showed me how strong she is and I should never have removed the other two) so basically if the branch is still intact, its savable, so for me, if they are small cracks or just not too much damage, I just leave it alone or if its a smaller branch, maybe remove it. Ive had alot of topped areas split and when that happens I take a velcro strip or a piece of water proof fabric and wrap that around real tight, Ive never used the hydrogen peroxide on the cuts but Im sure that would help too, actually Ive used some antibacterial gel but after awhile I have seen how resilient they are to brakes so I don’t use it anymore, but after you get the padding on secure, slip a zip tie over the padded area and carefully tighen as much as you can, if the brakes in the right place, this is probably one of the most secure ways to go, see if I can find a picture from last year…yeah, so I think this is before and after I removed it once it healed and started to choke her and I think this would work for most brakes, maybe in two spots with a splint for something that is supporting a lot of weight or will later on…

But basically anything and everything that is sturdy and weather resistant will work. Ive simply been using twine and string this year, and sometimes just propping the plant up and getting it secure again is all thats needed. Hopefully you got her figured out already but if your having any trouble, put a pic up of the brake and I’ll/we’ll get to thinking with ya…

On another note…check out what Baumead brought back home after disappearing into the woods all night, not recently, but its one of the coolest gifts Ive ever received from anyone, let alone a dog…

I keep meaning to learn how to make a knife and use it as the handle but for now its part of the new milksnakes terrarium…

Had some shrimp out in one of the planted tanks this morning…

I forget they’re there sometimes.

And finally, here is the garden and the ladies looking mighty fine much earlier today…

I was starting to get bummed out for some reason but they look good today, just going really slow to flower…all these photographs really help me keep notes…Gonna check when last years non light dep started to bloom up, its all getting pretty damn confusing, I finally see why these journals help us so much, not just to show off, but to keep track!

Though truthfully…meeting my new friends here has surely been the icing on the cake. Love yall! :v::heart:

I used some wire to do the job for now, but that’s easy to cut off. All the splits are the topped-node joints, so there is plenty of meat on each side break on the underside (half/half) and water is still flowing fine, limbs all looking good. The velcro wraps are great, going to have to give those a try too. We’ve got a bunch of them lying around. I didn’t know if I should seal the mended breaks or not. I feel like things could go wrong either way. If I seal it, you could seal in an infection/contaminant. If you don’t seal it, you could get an infection/contaminant. It’s not like a graft where I need functional transfer to be established, there already is plant function and that doesn’t seem to have been interrupted, I’m leaning toward just providing mechanical support. Most of the places it has happened the stems look pretty tree like, none of the fibers are broken, the grain just splits two ways at the break.

Those shrimp are cool! I don’t know if I’m just a little slow this morning, I stared at the picture for a while before I finally saw the shrimp.

Your girls look fantastic! Praying and tall! It always surprises me how much photos change the perspective of the plants. I look at pictures, post pictures and usually they make the plant look much smaller than it is. Nice looking buds too, hopefully some of mine eventually look like that.

My over-complicated dry chamber got too hot yesterday when the power went out, I used the vacuum cleaner in the rooms on the side of the house near the shed (I didn’t know there wasn’t a seperate circuit) and it pinged the breaker off. I took my sweet time fixing it, actually I just changed outlets and FORGOT about it, when I went out in the evening I noticed nothing was on. It was 90F inside and no circulation for maybe 6 hours or so. I just walked in flipped the breaker back on and it started doing it’s thang again. There is something to be said for simplicity. Oopsie.

Have a great day buddy, hope your back feels better!

Nice one! We definitely got to do something ASAP when there is damage, either by entirely cutting off or fixing up as you have, but it sounds like any breaks or splits are gonna be fine, just got to get ready for holding that real heavy weight thats coming…I would probably just do without any any sealant for now…they should be fine from the sound of it, I totally know the feeling as I said before, I was so upset last year when I dropped one of my plants, it was looking so “perfect” but after the other limbs were removed it was crazy how fast something else just took its place, as long as there growing healthy, almost impossible to really damage them, throughout this year though, I have over fed a few plants and have found that to be one of the easiest mistakes to make yet also happens to be one of the most harmful and hardest problems to correct. Even after weeks of nothing but water every few days(im a believer that it is too late once a plant soaks up those excess nutes, no amount of “flushing” will change them except maybe make it worse by causing root rot, just me though, I dont clame to know anything!), either way they get really mad at us when we get greedy and its hard to turn around, short of repotting them into new soil, I still get stuck sometimes and have had plants stuck recently as well. Dont know why I started going down this path right now, but hey, here we are…its that synchronization somehow, I bet…so yeah, every grow I end up with at least one plant that I do something “too much”. One problem can easily lead to others and thats when shit gets real! Got to keep them eggs spread out for sure. Four limit my ass. I am definitely not there yet. :upside_down_face:
So without further adu…here is one of my own seeds from the early spring grow/seed run we have talked about… She just showed herself today, so the auto gene stuff is so far dead on, I used indoor light at night to keep her from flowering early, she is…
Banana Berry Muffins f1(Nachos and El’Sapos)photo period x El’Chemi Kiwi(Mephisto)

Damn…I got to see if these worked…wasn’t done with post! Not erasing again ever…

Ok, tryn again and will continue to reply to my homie @FieldEffect but I would say we’re always talking with everyone else here…

So yeah, this one is special to me as you know…first 100% purposeful cross of my own to grow and work on, I also crossed the BBM to Double Smile(Mephisto auto) and a few photo periods but have not popped any of those yet. Just really stoked this single seed turned out female, I really appreciate all the support here, been an extremely fun summer so far growing with you and everyone, and I never even had to leave my house, love this place and all the fam here.

That made me laugh when you said you couldn’t see the shrimp at first, sometimes ill be staring at the tanks for way, way too long before I see whats right in front of my eyes…
Sometimes the creatures even look back at me…(who says aliens dont exist?)

And I also relate with the size/appearance of photos online versus real-life. Yes, we’re still talking about plants here, but this does seem to apply to other areas in life as well. I threw this watering can in todays big girl shots for better size comparison…

A hand around the trunk tells alot as well…

Hot girl summer in full swing…

Definitely starting to have some real faith in the grow, but since their alot bigger than what Im used to, I really have those beginner butterflies again, so yesterday I had to do an ice bath on a bit(1/2 maybe)of stems and suger leaf…early bird gets the worm, nothing goes to waste, mulched the left over solids around the new plants today and the circle is completed…

So save those scraps yall! It all adds up in the bank.

Sounds like Im not the only one who gets caught slippin, at least you tell the truth, for me its “damn thing just shut off!”…lol, “my over complicated drying machine”…Nothing is over complicated if it helps preserve the terps! Sounds like your still good though? I cant get mine to dry fast enough, simply because Im a fiend but you’ve definitely helped me to understand the process alot better simply by making that beauty and creating your thread, I forever am greatful. I have a hard time understanding the more technical side of things and detailed threads like yours help me to get the jist of it. We all have our strengths in this thing and your strengths are going to pay off huge. If I could go back, I definitely would have learned how to be a plumber, an electrician, a biologist, an engineer…all before I picked up gardening, not after! Oh well, I guess we all get there eventually, with a little help from our friends!

Back is much better after some rest. Thank you!

Hope all is good out West and around the world!

We had a brutal storm here that…uh, LST’d my pepper plants for me. Actually, it only broke one stem, a small one. We needed rain, and I love watching storms so all is well. Glad to see you didn’t sustain too much damage.

Yeah, we got that one abit but it was smooth sailing, sounds like you, we all, most of us at least, came out alive. What doesn’t kill us right? I love me a good storm too. Mostly because it means I dont have to do anything but they sure are awesome and intense sometimes. I definitely didnt worry about storms before like I do now though, Ive ran outside like a mad man a few times by now, all soaking wet, making sure the babys are ok…lol…as we all have Im sure, it can be a heart breaker sometimes but most of the time we pull through.

Thanks brother, We got this!
