Dendro's Outdoor Grow 2022

Not to contradict you, but there has never been a documented case of a black panther. There have been numerous cases of what’s called “melanistic” jaguars. Those are solid black, and jaguars are native to the Americas, though usually found no farther north than Central America. Central and North America (at least from Panama, north of the Canal) are a contiguous landmass. There are also innumerable places for even large black cats to hide. Some other cool critters we have here are the mountain squirrels. They’re about 3 times the size of a regular squirrel and are either a very distinct color of tan or solid black with white faces. The first time I saw one, I thought it was a treed skunk, and my blood ran cold for a few seconds. No sane person wants to be within 30 meters of a skunk. It was opening day of deer season in 2006, and I toyed with the idea of bagging it, since squirrel isn’t half bad if you make it right. I’m glad I let it go, since 30 second later the biggest deer I ever shot filled my gunsights. It was the rut and bucks were charging or at least investigating every noise they heard (bucks get really stupid during mating season). He emerged about 20 feet from where I was standing and stopped. It was a 10-pointer with a 16-inch inside spread and MASSIVE, about 200 pounds.
If you ever get venison, the trick is to soak it overnight in salt water. That draws out the “gamey” taste and salts the meat for you. Slow smoked venison is soooooo good.

Happy weekend yall, will get back to the convos just been stuck in heaven today, trimming and diggin these tunes…
Listen to CloZee - Lollapalooza 2019 Mix by CloZee on #SoundCloud

The Don Johnson is smelling super savory and has everything I touch stuck to me, the early amount Ive tried is very smooth, yet rich, some massive colas still left to take but starting to get some chunky ends, thanks so much @Frimpong

at this point, definitely calling this whole season a success and then some, fresh beans and buds is a winning combo, extra crazy thanks are due to @VAhomegrown for bailing me out, anything you want, I got you, hope your season is growing well!:call_me_hand:
Getting back out there again…hope everyone is having a great weekend :raised_hands:

Hell yea lookin good! Glad you were able to kick that PM problem! My grow is going good. Waiting on a cheap 4x8 tent to get here on Monday to use as a dry tent and then I’m chopping on Tues. Got some fat Burnout Chem buds that I can’t wait to smoke, and a bunch of Rosetta Stone.

Looking good! Glad you are happy with your season, we’ve both had some ups, downs and freakouts. I’m more scared of trimming than anything. My shed smells delightful, so does my kitchen. Got some apples at the farmers market yesterday and made myself an apple pie. Hope your day has been a winner as well, all the way through.

Sorry for the off-topic, had to brag about that thing :grinning:

@VAhomegrown how do you like that Rosetta Stone? I had considered running that because I’m anxious about anxiety and the description explicitly said no anxiety. Wound up running something else for my most “sativa” variety.

Think I’m going to put myself in the zone for the evening with a SLH joint and a nice cigar. Life is pretty good :sunglasses:

Never had the Rosetta Stone before. We will find out in a month or so. She smells great though! Got some fruity smells going on. Got 2 going. Might use one plant explicitly for hash.

Dude…that pie though! Save me a piece, just a small one? Got some Tillamook Ice cream to go with it, I’ll just be a sec! Seriously, I would trade a QP for that Masterpiece, no lie! Im done with banana berry terps, I want warm apple pie, Now! And I wasn’t even hungry…lol…I’ll go russel something up.

Much appreciated on the props for my BBM and crosses, you know I love my babies. Another shot you say? Why didnt you say so…lol…here is another pic of the BBM x ECK just starting to look delish and almost ready for another taste, then will cure the rest and just in time for Halloween, they have such a cool slimy purple green frosty look to em…strong fruity chem nose to the little nuglets, rest of the plant is still swelling up downstairs…

Definitely a great season all together man, all our jars and bags are starting to pile up and all the freakouts are seeming pretty silly now, Im starting to think the freakouts are how we pay the Gods their due, pretty sure they like to mess with our emotions! Freaking out is one thing, but not doing anything about it is another. Id rather freakout, then solve the problem any day. Maybe one day Ill be able to skip past the freaking out part. Anytime soon? I doubt it!
All this trimming is killing me. I’ve certainly started to cut corners by now and still so much left to go…even more work than I thought, but the amount of hash to be extracted soon is going to be epic, at least for me it will be, Ive had alot of small yeilds, but a big couple pound extraction sounds like a worthwhile endeavor. The Snowfire seems to still need another week or two, possibly more but she’s so big that Ive already taken a good portion of her for the hash and to help the rest of the top colas fatten up abit more. Nothing perfect here but we’re makin it work!

Enjoy that well earned J and cigar my Brother, rolling up a phat spliff of the ‘holloweed’ with some live resin from trimming the SF all damn day today. Got a nice little pebble, gotta love this life! :facepunch:

Thank you brother! The regalia definitely helped me win this round, a little sloppy but hey, a win is a win. Am lucky that shit never spread to anything else. Will be ready for next year. Glad things are good for you too. Anything I can help with, lmk. Sounds like you got it covered! Hope everything goes smoothly

No, I think it comes with a QP

I really wonder how dramatic the variations actually are with F1/F2 generations. Those nuggets look great, I’m sure the ones still on the “vine” so to speak are getting even better. Is that a mickey mouse stash bin? Maybe next season I’ll make some seeds just for grins. Hate to miss out on the fun

I’m definately trying to minimize the freakouts. Having a few pounds of herb in the closet should help with that

I’m not even worried about hash, that’ll just be some fun trying. I left the lowers on the Snow-G, it looks sad without any of the big colas left. If I’m still good when I get back from the trip I’ll hash them up next weekend. NO VACUUM PACKING that really put a dent in my Avenue wash. Lesson learned. Are you just freezing yours in gallon ziplocks?

Hell yes. Always nice to make yourself a pie.

So your not vacuum packing buds anymore for long term storage?

I think the best I can do then is make some brownies today? :yum:
Taking a few days to help let everything start to grow again, the shock of all the recent cutting is clear. Hopefully some sunny days to help finish the rest of the Snowfire especially, sure takin her damn time to really finish. On her, Im barely trimming, drying, then yes, I am freezer bagging for later use. I find that a three or four day dry is usually sufficient for freezing, but I haven’t been dealing with anything gigantic yet. The Don Johnson is pretty much done, just letting her last few big ends swell up and will be using her for smoke, all leaves get used for hash or edibles though. Some of her early stuff has still been good enough for rolling joints, she’s super oily material.
Ive definitely been wondering the same on how much difference will be seen among the four plants on the next round. Wish I could grow more plants just to see more examples, but because of legal issues, I gotta keep it tight, at least in appearances! Since I dont have hundreds of seed anyway of every cross, four at a time of each will just have to do, like all things here, its mostly for fun but Id like to learn as much as possible while also creating the best medicine possible, two birds right?, so Im thinking Ill be going through all the crosses made, one by one, four at a time, for a long while…its gonna be fun, but alot of work, I could also just grow out a sample seed of each but then I see myself just continuing to cross simply out of boredom and simplicity and thats not the direction I want to go. Got to have some purpose. I have a pretty good idea of what I like and dont like at this point, which is anything unique really, my palette gets bored, Id certainly like to have something that performs well outdoors here but also checks all the boxs in some way and has to be at least better than most in the effects department, so just gonna be a bit more selective of what I choose to take to f2,f3. Will be sticking with the ‘fast’ project for now. Of the three or so auto/photo crosses, Im fairly certain I can take at least one of them to f3 by spring, it’ll be a bit messy but Im finding the hype really gets into our heads. Its hard not to check out whats new out there but if I do that everyday, I find that I end up discrediting strains that I already have and just covet ehat I dont have. Not to mention, Ive honestly been more than happy with the f1 offspring grown so far and as of now, no herms. So its Grind time! Its kind of hard not to just start up a new batch now, but Ive been patiently trying to bring in everything from outside, and then do a really thorough cleaning first. Gotta baseline!
Not Mickey but a panda and lion set that has three of each, large medium and small containers…got a bunch at the doller store for gifting down the road. Love me some cheap crap that I can use in some way to help play with my weed, I mean who doesn’t?
I sure hope you decide to pick up a tent or something down the road, wait…have I said that before?..lol…I know your good for now, Im just that bad influence ya cant get rid of… personally, I have found I enjoy indoor much more than I thought I would. I also thought I would just be doing outdoor, but those lonely cold months needed some life to fill in the hole the garden leaves, indoor can be stressful at first maybe, learning anything new is, but with the outdoor knowledge it all comes so easy and vice versa. Always new challenges of course. The most recent being the basement flooding. As far as keeping the smell down, in my situation, my woman doesn’t smoke either, enjoys an occasional edible, but she actually got fairly used to the smell once she saw I simply just grow flowers? She knows Im capable of doing much worse. I also try to grow things she likes the smell of as well! Shes my official smell tester but not the way she thinks, when she pulls away with a nasty look on her face, I know I’ve struck gold. Occasionally we see eye to eye on what smells good or not.
Having all this extra medicine is definitely calming me down too, it feels so good just to have something to show for our efforts, and if we never give up, we eventually succeed, or die trying…lol…I never had to face death but I am a POW for this plant so it 100% means the world to me to be able to grow and consume our own meds here today. I have that warrior feelin these days, ya know? Its been a crazy year. There is still literally more weed left on the two big plants out there than I have in storage but I have enough that Im just not stressing it anymore, well, not as much, still keeping a keen eye on it all for sure. Sounds like your having similar issues and attitude adjustments on whats been a success or not. When I picture your place, I see weed just popping out of every closet and garage cabinet, kitchen drawers, baby cribs, under the bed…I remember thinking, early on, ‘this dude is gonna have a lot of bud’, especially once I realized how big your plants really were. I hope the lowers work out, those are always my favorites of any strain, gotta get that dry dusty thing goin on, sun kissed lowers left for weeks longer than the rest, always the best IMO. Have a safe, fun, and low stress trip Brother!

I’ll probably be LIGHTLY vacuum packing some for storage with some argon backfill. That’ll be dried/cured buds. I was referring to the fresh frozen I took from my Avenue of the Giants harvest for hashmaking. I basically vacuumed the shit out of half a pound of fresh, unsurprisingly (hindsight of course) it just mushed the trichs and my bubble hash yield was tiny. Maybe just press the air out when freezing, don’t squash them all into a pancake. I really don’t know if I was thinking properly when I did it, but it sure did look cool how thin it got

Hell yeah man. I think I’m going to make some soon too. The fresh frozen approach is super nice, I just won’t be vacuuming them again. I probably only got a few grams of bubble from that. The rest that I do I’ll just put in gallon freezer bags and chuck em into the freezer.

I love joints. I don’t know why but it’s my favorite way to smoke. I think it’s just the simplicity of it, and the ritual of crafting the roll just right.

That right there is the main reason I don’t think I’m ready to get into it yet. Not only am I just learning what I like, and what I don’t like, but I’m trying to keep the plant count under control. Hopefully this grow and what I’m going to call “smoke season” = winter helps me refine at least what I really want in a weed plant. The numbers game is the seemingly unconquerable hill of doing breeding. You know me enough by now, that just doing it isn’t enough for me. I want to take it all the way. I’m crazy. I feel like just growing out a few plants at a time is almost a waste unless they’re already stable. The fast strains or autos at least have the promise of 2 runs per season outdoors, that’s a significant advantage. I may wind up making some photo/auto hybrids, crossing Hella Jelly to something else because I KNOW I LOVE THAT GIRL.

You’ll not regret having the patience to clean things out and start truely fresh. That’s the good approach, no sense in wasting time with contamination, especially since you probably won’t find out until it’s too late. :+1:

The indoor grow thing is the same. I think it just won’t be satisfying to me. I’m willing to wait another season and make a decision then, we should be looking at moving by then. If I have a spare room or a nice shop I’d entertain it more than I can right now.

My girl doesn’t really smoke either. We got together and would smoke a few times here and there, she used to drink quite a bit but we’re both pretty straight folks now. Even though I have weed popping out of closets, cabinets and kitchen drawers I pretty much only partake on the weekends or after the little one goes to bed. She’s the real priority, gotta take care of that first and foremost. I’ve been enjoying smoking a little more than I was used to, just making sure I do that responsibly. The only time the SO has really said anything about my weed other than rolling her eyes here and there when I go to the shed at 4am to start trimming, was when she was showing up her friend’s little plant. I have a feeling we’re going to get a lot closer to that family, they’re good people we’ve known a while and maybe I can invite them over for a trim party in a few weeks with promises of free bud as much as they can carry  And also some seeds and advice for next year.

This gave me a good belly-chuckle that I really needed today. Got my bags packed for the business trip tomorrow AM, they should be fine until Friday morning. I’ll have the other half water them Wednesday.

That BBMxECK looking :fire: Love the fade on the fans. My hashplant is doing something like that but less uniformly. How much yield is something like that in the picture there? Ounce or two? Just curious…for science or something :cowboy_hat_face:

Have a good one bud(s), probably be checking in on the OG when I’m bored this week.

Morning All and Happy Harvesting

So I did end up making those brownies last night…

And a word to the wise, if your woman or man does not partake very often, a freshly baked batch of brownies just sitting on the counter is usually a great way to turn the tables! She eventually couldn’t resist and asked me to serve her ‘just one’ and that was all she wrote, within 30min she had that shit eatin grin on her face that we all know so well…lol…I ended up trying to talk her down from at least one panic attack, while attempting not to giggle myself, she said she was worried that she took too much, or more specifically, that I had ‘tricked’ her into eating too much, I put about 7 decarbed grams in a large size brownie mix and she had one out of nine equal cuts, I really dont think thats excessive or anything?, but yeah, we had a great old fashioned stoner time overall, both of us, which is always fun and a rare treat. It’s amazing how my own perspective will change just by having someone else along for the ride!

Hope everyone is doing well this morning/afternoon, whatever time it is…

That’s 777 MG per brownie. That’s 75-150 MG of THC, depending on the flower you put into it. Plenty potent…
I was thinking about doing an alcohol extract on a bunch of roaches, and maybe putting that into some brownies or cookies. The only problem is the wife loves sweets as much as I do, but she doesn’t partake of cannabis. She’s 100% 420-friendly, though.

Well those brownies were strong to say the least, the fog is starting to clear. A good thing too because I still have a ton of weed to chop, clean, and dry. It just keeps going ya know?..Luckily the little indoor girl is taking things easy on me, she has given about 20grams dry on the first clean up and Im expecting another 50grams or so when I take her in a week, it will all depend on how much she swells and since this is the first time growing this cross, only time will tell. A gram a day aint bad though when its so automatic like this. Easy as pie. Im guessing that she will give a lot more if given the proper environment the whole way through, the next grow will really tell us something as it hopefully wont be as rushed. I definitely had alot going on during this last round. Ive been thinking and am gonna switch it up and pop four of the BBM x Double Smile photo/auto beans instead of more of the BBM x ECK. This last one was more or less a tester of my own just to see what she looked like and since we got lucky and got a female, Im more interested in what the other seed sets look like to get an idea of priorities. As far as doing this right or not, I dont expect that Ill ever get anything close to perfect and just as I dont expect perfection from any of my grows, I dont expect perfection here either, well, not at first, right? So far, the photo x auto project has been quite a surprise, I originally wanted to take to
full auto but honestly Im more interested in making some big fast outdoor plants now, and so far the taste is phenomenal, its insane to smell/taste the parents and then to really feel it carried over in the offspring, its just a trip, sure I wish I could grow a hundred plants, but this right here is scratching the itch for now and then some and its nice to know that I dont have to answer to anyone or anything about it, just look for what traits I like, try and do my best, share my progress with yall and have fun along the way. I cant lose. None of us can. As long as we try, we grow, and from what I see around here, we’re all growing in this game. Grow on Brother and hopefully your having a great trip!

Haha, yes, they were plenty potent! She slept around all day yesterday, hell, we both did. If they were strong enough for me, Im pretty sure she wasn’t feeling any pain. She said she had a good time, thats what counts!
As far as your batch goes, I know it might sound gross to some, but if it were me, Id just through the roaches in the mix(minus the paper of course), hell, they are practically decarbed already and just waiting to be eaten. Alittle more decard would probably help though, have you ever done ‘fire crackers’? Those are super simple and would be perfect for using roaches? Only if you like ritz crackers and peanut butter…Definitely getting into my edible kick as the weight comes in, and yeah, gotta have a 420 friendly woman! My girl doesn’t smoke either and just occasionally eats a brownie or something since she has the same sweet tooth but Id say having a 420 friendly lover is like finding the meaning to life or something, dont know where Id be without her!
