Dendro's Outdoor Grow 2022

That’s how I’m dealing with popcorn from now on - freeze (don’t vacuum pack like I did - that wasn’t the best of ideas), hash. I’ve got some Avenue of the Giants bubble drying now, we’ll see how I did. I’m convinved this is the best solution to the problem. Need to get my technique refined for sure though.

They’ve come a long way in a few weeks! Those buds the DJ getting snipped up?

There has been some talk of a severe winter this year. We’ve already had a sudden and major cold spell this fall. Georgia is a very warm place, so when the temp drops below 70 we really feel it. I’m not complaining. A good, hard freeze is needed from time to time.
I’m just hoping legalization hits, and I can experiment with a winter crop growing in a greenhouse.

Hey yall, been super sick for the last couple of days, been dragging feet just to get stuff done but we get it done all right! My phone needs another upload to the cloud as Im out of meem

Damn, yep Im out of it, head is pounding, cant even type but yeah, going to have to ask my lady to help me with the tech stuff when shes feeling better as we’re both on the mend, but more importantly harvest is coming in, all is well, just doing what must be done, taking care of animals and other fam first. Here is a couple cool shots of the Eastern Milksnake…

And a recent shot of a big, juicy, colorful, and stanky bud, that I honestly thought would not pull through a few errors on my part, but man are these starting to look good, gonna give em another couple of days but Im just not in a hurry to chop anything down right now, the big bushes are taking some time to wash and clean, but everything is coming out a whole lot better than I imagined a month ago and as soon as I can figure out this wacky computer wizardry, Ill get some harvest photos up, till then, Blessings All, I pray everyone is doing well these days…

I’ve heard you say you mention reptiles…neat to see one.

Hope you guys get to feeling better soon - vitamins, water and a healthy dose of LITFA just like you’re a plant. Seriously, get well man. I hate being sick nowadays. After years of literally being tetering on the edge of life, on purpose, now that I’m healthy being sick is rare. Which is nice, but it sure feels like a curse when it strikes. I hate it though.

That’s a gorgeous shot of the BBM! My smell-o-vision ain’t working :pensive:

Glad you like bro! I do have more animals I can photograph and some more of them already backed up, Ill do a search for any cool ones :sunglasses: and speaking of herps I just today, when I was cutting down the first of the Snowfire, saw the male box turtle out because of the heat, he had been hiding from the recent cold, getting ready for winter, well, he was back out and I cant see keeping him inside the fence any longer, so I picked him up and walked him out, placed him along the fence he used to circle all summer as I gardened, and off he went, up the hill he came from, our whole four acres is pretty much fenced in, he can definitely still get out, but Im sure Ill see him again, but we’ll have to see!
Definitely feeling alot better, still run down but have been eating again and back at it. Girlfriend is also doing better, so that makes two of us! Hate seeing her sick, its been a lot of back and forth because then I got even sicker, thought I might not make harvest (again) but I was just out there and feel like its gonna be manageable just in a shit ton of segments, but yeah, were doing better, it could be worse. I hate seeing how much crazy shit is happing out there, I am blessed to be at this point today, most deff with a lotta help from our friends, but in the end, Its like we really have to earn an OD harvest, ya know? Thank you for the kind words my friend.
Oh and so far the this BBM is smelling and looking to be a real blueberry muffin leaner. I had taken and enjoyed some earlier lowers and they indeed had a very real blueberry muffin smell and taste, extra dense, super sticky. Its a nice pheno. The branches were long and manipulated well, yet held up strong, I did have another that seemed to be lighter and could possibly have been more banana og leaning as it did seem to have a different growth pattern, more floppy, with more smaller off shoots, a lighter green color, never took any oics of her, yet this was a plant that I had mentioned I felt I had caused some lockout or something or more likely, calcium toxicity causing lockout, I believe that is one of the issues I had to learn about this year, more simple to just pay double attention to what we premix our medium with and then dont forget and keep adding the standard ingredients. I really think if I start back up with the new bags I have, a fresh start will do me good. Well, as you can probably tell, I must be doing alot better…lol… thank you again and all the fam here. So good to see that you and others are also pullin in the big bags. I got a one pound grove bag about filled, never tried em before but they do seem legit for when volume does finally start to become an issue! Will 100% get some more photos up soon, in the meantime, Ill be enjoying yours and others as harvest is such an awesome time! Happy Harvesting and Hope all is well :grin::v:

This little guy or gall I should say, her name was “Normal” Norms for short…has aleady been raised and released back into the wild, my dogs almost ate her last year, I dont talk about the box turtles much because their technically on the threatened list,(I think recording reptile and other shy animals natural behavior yet alone their true population count can be extremely difficult yet I do believe the box turtles are in trouble mainly because of all the roads bit also because people keeoing them as pets and not knowing how to properly care for them, its a fine line, but as any good renagade, I use certain skills despite what the law says. Milksnakes are extremely common yet much more rare to find, so elusive! This one still a little one, so I’ll do the same, let it get through the winter, put on some weight, then release in the spring to make it to breeding size, hell, if I find a breeding pair, I might just hatch another clutch of eggs, its been awhile. Haha, I think you knew if ya got me talking about reptiles, I pep up, lol, thanks brother! Have a good one! Gonna go find a dry bud to break into and probably clean a few more branches:v::heart:… wow…saw some good news on the US National MJ decriminalization fight on the telly literally just a few minutes ago…I pray change is coming for us all soon!
Dug in and found some nice autoflower shots from last winter/spring just for the occasion…

Ill have to take a look to remember what they were, the little thumbnails are hard to decipher sometimes. Old fashioned rambler, signing off.

Ok, yeah, above is one of the bag seed sativa leaners Ive ended up with a bunch of fem seed that I keep talking about, this was the first time growing it out and it came out great, not a single nut, and ‘Old School Fool’ was born. Very lemon lime, almost stings your nostrils, sharp! And the effects match, Im a sucker for a good sativa, if grown right and flowered long enough, as I see alot of yall are too. This one was still going stong at 14 weeks flower but I couldn’t take it anymore. Ran her again this summer but tan into some issues, didnt want to lose her to the pm as she was right next to that mess, never got it but I chopped her early for some early hash. Damn, I could ramble all day today, got some work to get done, sick and slackin today…lol…gonna have to find me some good energetic terps to fuel with, looks like some of my signature ‘dirty hash’ fron the DJ will do the trick, packin it up in my ‘hash pipe’. Always thought only Rockstars smoked straight hash, haha, man, we’ve come a long way. Here’s a nice collection of different strains and grades of bubble…

One of these days Ill be running another round, sooner than later most likely, all these sticky buds stackin up!

That’s awesome! Glad you guys are feeling better and it looks like Box Turtle is a happy camper as well.

Nice pics. I wonder how my hash is looking, it’s been in the drying cabinet and we’ve been getting rain all day, pretty much everyday. That Old School Fool lookin :fire:

It’s wild to me that we have the option of growing weed like that inside. I think I kinda like having my weed growing gated by the seasons outside, I’m out of control anyway  Luckily I don’t have space to do it myself, so I won’t even get to find out how much the wife rolls her eyes if I did. She told me last night when she climbed into bed the whole house smells like weed, all I did was smoked a J of Avenue of the Giants last night outside in the rain. Literally just rolling up, jar open 30 seconds in my office. A tent would be too much :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

When we move to a bigger house in the next few years hopefully I get a good-sized shop that should take care of odor partitioning. Climate controlled would be nice, I’d really love to get into woodworking again. Rambling again, have a great day man!

Just buy a filter and a lot of the problems with smell are eliminated.

Took these Banana Berry Muffin tops early to make space for a plant that still needs some time, these are top shelf from Nachos and El’Sapos, it’s amazing how they smell and taste exactly how they look…

A few more handfulls of these muffin crumbs are just icing on the cake…

Before washing and wet trim…

And the BBM x ECK nestled inside on a 12/12 schedule under a few led lights to fatten her up for another week or two…

And here are a few of the early lowers taken(at about 60 days from seed), this is extremely potent bud, no kidding, strongest by far this season and its still going!

Happy Harvesting Everyone!:v::blush:

Much appreciated my friend, the whole gang here is definitely doing better and getting prepared for winter. So far, so good! :+1:
Glad you enjoyed the photos, I would think your hash has dried some by now, are you curing it? Ive never done that myself but it would be really awesome I bet. As far as indoor goes, I wouldnt let the smell hold ya back, as @ShiskaberrySavior mentioned, a good filter really does do a good job, Id expect youd rig up an actual exhaust from the house, Id like to pimp my basement out like that sometime. Just to make it easier to clean and keep sterile at least. The tents are pretty cool and simple to hide away, once you get them running right, you only need to check em and water every few days, not that I can do that, Im constantly playing peek-a-boo with my babies. But I get it, outdoor is where my heart is at too. Learning indoor does seem to help the other and vice-versa, I would recommend anyone who loves the herb or loves to garden at all, to try a micro climate indoor type grow, it really does produce a different product and if you can combine the two, thats the sweet spot imo! Indoor girls, taken outside for a good couple hours every day or two of flower? Best bud you’ll ever grow. Best of both worlds, just short of a greenhouse. Again, I get the OD itch, I’m just plain tired from these big girls needs atm, and tbh, it’ll be alot less work moving back inside and the control is pretty awesome :ok_hand: just a different world. Looking forward to it now!
But not that you need to grow anything for awhile, those gigantic colas you got hanging on your thread are beastly! Definitely got it covered for awhile my dude!
Hope all is well and stay lifted!

Damn man! Nice nugs! I want some of those BBM flowers!

I’d like to see if I enjoy banana terps. The different terp profiles of the different plants this year are super interesting. The Avenue, with it’s nearly offensive burnt rubber dragstrip jar scent, smokes like skunky old-school weed - smooth and tasty. Doesn’t taste like tires at all, thank fuck. I really enjoyed it, which I am surprised to have typed, had a really nice relaxed but neutral body feel. But from the Hella Jelly, I know I’m REALLY digging that bakery/dessert terpene family. I’ve also got a handful of lemony/piney stuff, the Critical Kush and SLH. Looking forward to trying some of the others down the road a few weeks.

I’d love to go visit one of the domestic larger-scale breeders and get a better sense of what gets selected for and what different profiles actually smell like. I’d like to really chat about lineages and breeding goals. I’d fly wherever I had to in order to do this. Maybe Twenty20 or Humboldt Seed Co that do large-scale pheno hunts. Maybe someday. In the meantime I’ll keep listening to podcasts

I haven’t checked on the hash in several days. Don’t think I got much but I’ll find out today when I start going through the trays of herb in the cabinet making room for the buds that are hanging up right now. Pray for my poor hand-model appendages that I don’t come down with carpal tunnel from trimming. From here on out, I’m just going to finely manicure maybe an oz of each strain for the office stash, and rough trim the rest and bag it up to cure long-term. The buds stay better protected, especially in the grove bags, that way.

The indoor thing is something that would be fun, I’m sure. I’ve thought about it, and decided that I was just doing outdoors for now, at least the next year or so. The outdoor is stressful enough, I don’t know if it’s smart to add to that. Maybe down the road a bit, if the consumption increases. At this point, you’re right, I’m definately covered for a while. Smell or not, eyes would roll here for sure. My earlier statement about the house stinking from pulling a nug out of the jar was just to emphasize how sensitive she is to the smell. I come in from outside pretending I’m a cop doing budrot inspections and she smells the plants on my clothes. Carbon filters, I agree, handle most of the odor, but I would still be opening the tent and checking, etc. It’s just not where I’m at right now. If I had a bigger house, with a garage or climate-controlled shed, it would be a different scene. A better location is going to happen someday, just not near-future.

I did start the seeds inside under LED shoplights. I’ll do the same again next season, maybe even start earlier since I’ll run fewer plants. But that’s just some trays on the floor of my closet and some cardboard stands under a space blanket. It’s not totally off the table, but certainly not to the level where I want to be flowering inside.

I am stoked to see you getting results though with the hybrid approach. That stuff looks really great, man.

If you want a good chuckle - I used to have a collection of 1g mini jars with different strains from dispensaries that I’d get from friends or trips to Colorado. Now I have a collection of different strains with my “mini jars” having been replaced by 1/4oz grove bags or quart jars in the desk drawer that I grew myself mostly organically outside from little seeds. Definately some positive progress this year

I think this year, I’ll put a trail camera next to the gut pile (I’ll dress the deer out right where it drops, instead of bringing it back to the house) and see what shows up. Just so we’re clear, I do not hunt anything I can’t eat. I’ve never hunted things like bobcats, foxes, coyotes, etc., and I never will. Having hunted the most dangerous quarry (armed men), I have nothing but contempt for the pusillanimous raisin-sacks who do things like going to Africa to shoot animals (ones nobody can eat, or the meat is wasted) for fun. Sorry about the rant.
Wow. As I was writing that, I saw a little rat snake out the yard. Very cool. The wife and I love non-venomous snakes, and encourage them to hang around. It was perfect timing on that little dude’s part; his visit helped mitigate the anger and negativity I was feeling.

Dude, that would be awesome, just to see some cool predators or some other rarer to see creatures. So much elusive animals out there. I’ve been talking about putting cameras up all around the property for awhile, both for protection but mostly just to see some cool stuff as well. I always appreciate the rant brother! You know this is a safe haven for all ranters of all rants. The rantier the rant the better the rant. I got to say, I have nothing but gratitude and respect for your service man. Thank you always Brother, Im glad you are home safely  I should think that hunting prey that can actually fight back would put a new persperspective on the whole situation, but I dont want to offend, I try not to speak of things I know nothing about. As I’ve said, I did grow up in a military household, but no service for Ol’ Sticky Face, being a brat was enough for me. Pops still works as a civilian at a military school close to the capital though, 60+ and still working for the government in some way, really a great guy, a rare breed so to speak, and Im always proud of him for his service through the 40 years Ive been alive. I know its not easy. I guess thats why Im out here in the sticks. Had to go my own way, Its funny though, my son Kody is 14 and currently obsessed with anything military, just loves the civil war era stuff right now, so I wont be surprised if he also swings the opposite direction like first born sons can do sometimes lol. Whatever makes him happy, I know personally, there is no fighting our destiny!
Sounds like the appearance of the snake was timed just right. I love moments like that, I can tell you are very in tune with your environment brother, Happy to know your in a good place man…and Happy Harvesting of all kinds

A few years ago, a buddy of mine and I saw a bobcat while we were hunting. The coolest part is that it was hunting a chipmunk while we watched. I’ve heard from a few people there is a large black cat up here.
The local paper had a photo of what the article said was a ‘bobcat.’ It was not a bobcat. It was a panther (Puma concolor couguar). Those are supposed to be extinct. They are not.

I believe you! Yeah, wow that would be cool, Ive heard similar tales around this way, with all the trail cams these days, Im sure we’ll be seeing real evidence of some of these legends soon enough. I hear of Mountain Lions in Va often and even though none have been scientifically documented here since like the late 1800s or so I have a hard time believing that not a single big cat comes through from time to time. I sure hope they are still out there. The true Black Pumas would just be too awesome to see. Never saw a Bobcat myself either, supposedly we do have them here too, I would settle for a Bobcat…
