Dendro's Outdoor Grow 2022

Like this one, its hard to see which pic is which when they are microscopic, I like this one the best of the BBM x ECK shots that I was able to take this morning before my memory filled back up…lol…no more photos for a few days, I really need to upload to the cloud again, I dont keep good constant detailed notes but I do take photos, all I really need, tells me all I need to know and then some, here’s that stunna…

The other is an aquarium plant that flowers once or twice a year, I think. Its got some glam, no? Lots going on around here today for some reason. Phones about to die…catch ya later homies…

No disrespect to those who do, but I’ve never cared much about bag appeal. Some of the best bud I’ve ever smoked was really wispy and leafy. There is just something about rustic looking weed that also knocks you senseless.

10-4 good buddy…this was some of the best Ive had in awhile, the final harvest had no color, just a nice brassy sheen and a dirty frosty green through out and literally a mystery plant out of a ‘take a chance pack’…

Looks great but not glamming out in my book but sure holds a firm spot around here as I crossed her to the Banana Og and Fiona’s Chem Cake, I have high hopes for this gal’s offspring. Once I get back to full photos, those seeds are the ones I want to check out first.

:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes::rofl:…thanks man, just super stoned and feelin frisky tonight…I was admiring your amazing bubble gum tree last night and Im thinking you’ve got your hands full these days? The swirl of smells must be overwhelming in your place by now but oh so much fun to try them all, Im sure!

What did you suspect to be ‘the best’ and what are you actually gravitating to? Too hard to choose? Killed it Man!

I peeped that you do shrooms too? I am so ready to learn. Been on the bucket list for awhile to get into them. Should I start with a kit or is it pretty simple to diy once I get some spores?

It smells like teen spirit in my shed. I would watch a dozen youtube videos on building a monotub correctly and sterile practices and basic mycology. Then buy your spores. I use mushly and never had an issue with them. I wouldn’t bother with making your own substrate and grain or cake jars. I’m using these guys now for grain bags and substrate. I inject and once the mycelium is peak. I mix with substrate in my tub let it grow again until ready to fruit. I can walk you thru some shit when you get your gear together bro.

Very cool, excellent info. Thanks for the headstart, as you said, once I’m ready, I’ll pop over. Im in no rush, gonna do it right. Thanks again man and have a great night.

I ran some shrooms a couple years ago for microdosing. It’s easier than growing weed like we do. I got a kit and had good luck, but I probably won’t do it again. Just not my thing.

Your plants are looking great! Glad you got some more beans popped to help you weather the winter, so to speak. As for me, I’m done for the season now. Spring time will bring soil-building as well as construction of whatever greenhouse/bug shelter I design over the winter. I don’t even want to see weed seeds for a while, glad to call the season over here - it’s been a ride to say the least, lots of external stress the last few months. We’re expecting an early snow tonight, everything I’m going to harvest came in yesterday. :sunglasses: :snowflake: :cloud_with_snow:

Already bought a sled at Costco a few weeks ago, I’m ready for snow whenever it happens. Usually, since snow is somewhat rare here in town, as soon as it snows Walmart is sold out of sleds in an hour. The kids all go to a certain grassy place in town and sled down the hills. Can’t wait to do that with my little one, she’ll have a blast.

We joke that Southerners go insane and cause wrecks on their way to the store for bread and milk whenever it snows here (about once every 5 years).

Yes, definitely, shrooms are not for everyone, I don’t ingest them often, back in the day sure but these days, I just like taking my time and waiting for things to line up when its in the cards. A little steering on my part just helps to stay on the path. Time always tells the tale. If the Gods will it!

And Thank You Brother. Im really surprised they all came out as good as they did, all things considered. I cant believe outdoor is almost over and the fact that I didnt even think they’d make it to the finish line at the time of the pm, yall know I was just about ready to cut it all down at one point and give up but Im so glad I didnt, thanks to you and others help and encouragement there is still over a pound out there I need to get and Im already totally set with enough meds to make it till next indoor harvest, maybe even next outdoor if I keep alot of this material in the fridge or feezer! What a year for us both, very happy to have shared this season together, I learned alot from you especially.

Some specific ramblings on washing flower that I wanted to jot down for anyone dabbling with the idea since this has been my ‘jam’, thats what Ive been callin it btw, ‘jam making’ lol, I needed a way to move past the loss of outdoor fun and this does it well …So the Jam is already up to 15g or so in two separate washes(using a standard 8 bag, five gallon set) and that was just the pre trimmed material, maybe three ounces of mixed materials, a bunch of Snowfire lowers, alot of the Don’s clippings but not much used really, Im kind of blown away by the yeild. Looking forward to doing it again but with some of the nice big Snowfire nugs which will first be fully dried for four or five days then frozen for at least 4hrs and finally gently broken up, I repeat this freezing and breaking up a few times as well before being mixed with about 50/50 ice and water, I use three separate buckets in the unused bathtub at the back of the house. A good clean quiet space is a must! I always clean it real well before I begin and get some good tunes going. Careful with your back and make sure all kids, pets, or needy significant others are fully taken care of before the process even begins.
I like to just line up the bags as usual, one on top of the other, larger micron inside of the finer, so finest micron bag is on the outside. Lay a folded towel on the counter with your catch mat(a 25micron strip) on top. Have at least two clean sharp knives at the ready. Once the material, not too much if quality is the goal, so about three or four ounces max in a five gallon kit mixed well with a wooden or rubber kitchen utensil for about 3-5min each round, then quickly pull out all your bags at once, move them over to the next empty bucket, then simply pour the cold water of the last bucket into the holding bag to further push broken trichs through the bags. You can do this multiple times, and its alot easier than pulling apart your bags and harvesting multiple times because you never get all the gold in the first wash, it almost never stops but there is a point where its obvious that youve done your work. Be careful not to use too much agitation as to not break down the actual plant material and release undesired chemicals such as chlorophyll, you will know if you did use too much as alot of your product will have a greenish tint but make sure to use enough agitation to fully brake the trichs and get the oil, the colder the water the better and Ive found I like a 50/50 mix of ice and water but you can use more or less ice, just add more ice if it melts quickly, I know when I do it right when I end up with as little of the rough kief-like stuff in the first two bags that come after the holding bag, then the next 3 or 4 bags should have the good tan stuff that actually bubbles if done right and the last two is usually like a wierd grey or dark color with a clay like texture. I keep them all separated, because there really is a difference, I mix the first two and the last two altogether for edibles or for throwing in joints, but this time, will give pressing the mixed as well as the finer bubble a shot. I known this sounds silly but its important to mention to always let your bounty completely dry out before sealing, anywhere from one to five days or more depending on the grade and quantity, if stored improperly, it can go bad much faster than wet sealed flower. I believe oxidation causes the hash to darken over time and Im currently experimenting with cold curing to try and speed up the drying process as to preserve the terps and the color. I have a nice handmade glass bubbler honey straw that should work nicely with some actual pressed oil, but hey, hash in any form is really as good as people talk about, believe the hype! And IMO, hashish is definitely worth the effort to work with. I plan on reading around here for some more ways to up my game and play with my toys, Ive already seen alot of great information and shared experience. For now, thats about what I got for yall. Every other method of extraction tried has been inferior, IMHO.

Oh and Field, on the growing, I totally feel you on being happy where your at, happy for things to settle down, you had a HELL of a sweet season overall, a lot of variety and enough material to play with however your heart desires, we also have alot of room to play with new ideas or just chill and enjoy the stash, its all good! Time to enjoy our hard work either way. Cant say it enough, I really enjoyed our correspondence throughout the season and never felt alone on this grow. Thanks man.

Dude, we used to own those hills! Big ass teenagers gettin nuts with jumps, broken bones, near sonny bono wipe outs but those were the days, I too am gonna have to go take my boy out this winter, just for the excuse to relieve the old days. We get some good snow a few times a year where Im at now, looking forward to it too. Good stuff man!

Hope all is well with you and the whole fam here and there. Peace and Love to All!

 so true! Ive lived both down south and somewhat up north and there is a huge difference in what people consider ‘heavy snow’

Whenever there is snow on Ft. Benning, Ga, everything shuts down. It’s ridiculous. In Dallas, I drove past 5 wrecks, one of which was on fire, when it snowed. I’ve also lived in Alaska, where the snow is present for 6 months every year. The snow actually improves the roads by filling in the potholes. I’m serious. Alaska was awesome, but really, really alien.

It was quite a ride for both of us. I’m glad you didn’t go all scortched-earth, but I know how the perspective is different and the reaction can easily be a bit over the top. I’m very thankful to have been able to share my experience and learn from other people. The answers always just came when I had problems.

Is there any reason in particular to dry before freezing? So you are breaking the herb up frozen, then tossing it back in the freezer? Sounds like a decent plan, wondering why it works better. The issue with my vacuum packed frozen is obvious (after the fact anyway  ), everything is too tight to break up and it doesn’t ever really thaw in the water. Drying a few days probably would have been better there, or just not vacuum packing would have helped for sure. I’ve got enough to try doing this with some dried stuff, maybe I’ll do that. I may run out this morning and grab some of the buggy Hawaiian Snow and Hashplant colas rather than letting them go to waste, they are already frozen.

Hope all is well with you and your fam as well. Enjoy your bounty, thanks for your input and the wonderful back-n-forth ramble posts :sunglasses:

I shouldn’t laugh at cars being on fire in the snow, but I did! And the roads being better with the potholes packed with snow, made me laugh too.
Personally, I like to stay somewhere in-between. I mean, I guess Id move near the equator if given the opportunity again but until then, I definitely enjoy a few snowy days out of the year, not too much, just enough to make the cold months worth it. We get about a week of just a few inches of snow once or twice a year here, usually in January, its beautiful. I remember seeing it snow on the south coast, literally on the beach, in Navarre FL one year, in didnt stick but that was a cool scene too. I dont think I could handle snow and darkness for anymore than one month out of the year but Im sure Alaska was Amazing but I can understand why you live where you live now.

Yes it was, and your right, talking about nuking some fungus might have sounded good at the time, but when it comes down to it, unless there is a certain inclosed space one is trying to clean, there is almost no point throwing chemicals, organic or synthetic, all over the place outside. Sounds silly but desperate people do desperate things. Im very glad I never got to that point, well, the worst I did was spray some diluted baking soda on the snowfire and unfortunately she did not like that, burned the shit out of her but she seems to have forgiven me. I read about that multiple times online but I would not recommend. The key was working with mother nature to disrupt the funguses comfort level. I believe a certain concentration of h202 to be helpful, just a bit stonger than 3%, like 4%-6%, I never saw any more pm on any other plants this year though, so thats positive. Im thinking the regalia is what helped in the end, that and mother nature, once it got colder and drier, the pm was obviously alot more manageable. I wish I didnt spend so much time on all that but I actually learned a massive amount of knowledge the hard way and hopefully next season will show for it. I can relate how the answers would come just at the right time or when I really needed a pick me up. Its the synchronization!
So Ive still never done fresh frozen and from what Ive read, much less yeild it sounds like, even when done perfectly, but I can understand it can make things easier or to help save a harvest so it has its benefits Im sure. But yeah, fully dried, then frozen and gently crushed before going into the ice water seems to give the most massive yields Ive had. Just dont over crush, just enough to loosen the flower and dislodge alot of the trichs. When its dry and frozen it should kind of just fall apart, if not, its not dry enough, but it will still work, not rocket science but a little regular science sure seems to help…as far as the outdoor frozen buds go, not much to lose there if you were already done with em, so yeah, give em a shot! You cant lose. They and you deserve it! I bet you have a couple ounces of hash out there man, the process itself will get rid of any nasty crap…Definitely would like to hear firsthand how that goes and Ill be washing with you today, have about a half p to work with and ready to go, should be fun. God speed man! Any questions or ideas, hmu :call_me_hand:
Have a good one Fam!

Gotta throw a photo up here and there, I wish I could take new pics now, the Snowfire is killing it out there in the cold, its hit the freeze just a couple of times, nothing too crazy, barely really, I like to put out a metal bowl with just a couple inches of water, when it freezes through, Im done, I dont check the weather apps and all that much anymore, just a little to get a heads up but I do read my dog bowls and that works just fine. Hasn’t frozen through yet and the Snowfire Kush is definitely still putting on big weight and trichs but I’ll be scrambling in a few days if I dont get started, again. Bud looks completely different than I thought it would. Super thick and dense. This was a big leason on how much longer some crosses can take to be fully done. I thought she’d be done by now. Despite alot of her more obvious characteristics and name, she also seems to have alot of sativa influence during flowerings end, I mean she’s a hybrid so I know its there but I feel the length of time these flowers are taking to complete is both helping and hurting the end result. Here were some of the last photos taken a few days ago…

She is a clone, crossed her mom to the Banana Berry Muffins, starting to really think that was a good forethought. If I can get this frame and overall yeild to match with some more unique terps and maybe a faster finish too, Im might have to try those beans outdoor next year. Always too many choices but I like taking chances. Now that the jars and all are filling back up again :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: really makes decision making easier when it comes to anything weed related.

Thank you! I appreciate your kind words  Enjoying reading and looking through your grow as well. I have had alot more time to read and look around lately, one of the many benefits of a successfully finished season.
I am very thankful for this site and for all the kind folks around here such as yourself. Please stop by anytime!
So if you are asking about the above plant, well her flower is somewhat more basic as far as smell and taste goes, a kind of sweet skunky herbal hashy smell with some fuel notes in there, though she is still going so we’ll have to see where she ends up over the next week as we have some warmer days coming, she’s made some seriously good bubble already, have harvested about half of her structure by now. She’s been a hell of a gift that just keeps giving!
The Banana Berry Muffins and BBM x El’Chemi Kiwi both pictured further above reak of sour fruit! The straight BBM is definitely sweeter and has alot of the real blueberry muffin smell in there but with a bit more OG funk, I have really enjoyed this cross so far. Now the one pheno of the cross I did of the BBM and an El’Chemi Kiwi auto is absolutely intense with a more sour fruit thing and it was a fairly fast finish as well. That is the one I get the most ‘Banana’ notes out of but its just got alot of other sour shit going on at the same time that lasts on the tongue well after the exhale. I haven’t been able to wipe my phones memory in a few days now so haven’t been able to add or even take pics but I got alittle 2x2 going that I want to show off sometime soon. Thanks again for the posivity!
Hope all is good with you this weekend :relaxed:

Lol, yes and the book too. I dont mind being by myself but yeah, being totally alone for a long enough time will fuck with anyone. I would love to visit Alaska during the summer but its bad enough down here in the winter, I couldn’t take that heavy depression that must come from being out there, not to mention the cold and dark just sucks! Sounds like we’re where we are supposed to be brother! Hope your weekend is going well!
