I’m dog sitting this weekend for a couple of dogs, both are dear souls!
So yeah, I’m wallowing in dog vibes today!!
I started making LAB’s from a cup of uncooked white rice, washed in 2 cups of cold water, saved it to a mason jar, clothed top, then in about 5-7 days, the wash, separates, into 3 layers , some curds, the middle yellow serum, and the lower is mostly water I think.
With a turkey baster, I pull the middle layer out.
It will have fermented sour, cheesy smell to it.
I measure that juice I remove, then add 10 parts milk with that, into a mason jar, cheese cloth covering, and again in 5-7 days or so, the curds and whet, separates.
I save the curds and whey, to feed to the dogs a teaspoon per meal.
Their family tells me they are picky eaters, they clock the food bowl every time I set it down.
They are just nuts for the the cheesy smelling stuff.
It is a super probiotic for them.
All animals can benefit from it, even just adding some LAB’s to their water bowl.
For organic gardening, it’s a game changer for me!
Once down to your last shot glass of serum, simply add it to 10 parts milk, then about 5-7 days, you got another batch, without doing the rice wash thingy, first.
I keep mine in the refrigerator, then add 1 shot glass to 5 gallons of water, before watering my plants.
